Kind of unrelated to the video but i always have liked that you put subtitles on all your videos. Not only do i like having subtitles on, but it increases accessability and makes it easier to watch without disturbing others. You don't have to take the time to do it but you do and I appreciate it.
@@CoastinWithLogan maybe. They had the train broken appart and each car section was getting something done. Someone was out there doing something to them. I could see it from on Joker. Maybe it was inspection only? I hope it stays. It is a top 3 ride at the park. They also had a new paint job that was almost finished on Medusa. It looks so nice.
@@zanzabar4ky7 I’ve always wanted to ride it, I’m going next year to nor cal as the rumor is CGA could close next year and I’m not chancing that, so I’m going to DK with my all park passport and i hope it’s open but I’m not holding my breath
I’d love to see the new gen Impulse coaster make its way to the US. It would be such a good coaster for some midsized parks such as Adventureland, Lost Island, Holiday World, Knoebels, or Lagoon.
I don’t see this sticking around for much longer. I can easily see it getting taken out next year if the ride doesnt operate to park standards. Fortunately, it is planning to open next year, which is good. I need more rides
This rides operation was spotty for years… whether it was lack of workers, maintenance you name it. It only started running more as they built up that portion of the park with marvel IP
This and Medusa were my favorite reason to go to this park many years ago haha Its sad to see it go given how unique it is, but it just doesn't just send people over the park entrance all the time like it used to, what a visual that was!
Since SFDK is my home park, it's the one park in the chain I've visited most besides Magic Mountain. And unfortunately, Flash Vertical Velocity has been closed 9 times out of 10 every visit. I think the last ride I got on it was around 2016 or 17. It's a fun ride but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it gets removed in the near future.
My home park was well. Have only ever seen it running once in the last 5 years. Usually it's just Medusa, superman, and batman. Sometimes boomerang and rarely kong.
Nothing is out of the question in terms of removal with the new merged company. I think this could be on its way out fairly soon probably a top 5 highway risk in the chain. I think the #1 spot is still Montezooma’s personally but I wouldn’t say this is far behind
I have a feeling this entire park could be at risk, the city of Vallejo really does not seem to wasn't the park anymore and the fairground board objects to anything they try to do as of lately and the city always sides with the fairgrounds - its not a good situation
I've been saying this all along California's Great America is going to be saved this park is going to take the fall and since they're under the same ownership hopefully these rides get sent to California's Great America
@@nathanlopez5667 CGA is not really savable, the land under the park is already sold and they are leasing the land from the new owner as long as the park continues to operate the land would have to be purchased from the current owner to save the park because he bought the land to build warehouses - That being said It is also very concerning that the chains 2026 plans made a big point about Six Flags Great America celebrating it's 50th anniversary with several in park events taking place but made no mention whatsoever of the sister park in CA = it is almost like it was left out because they do not plan on it being open for the anniversary - I am thinking 2025 might be the parks final season at this point with the current state of things
@@CanobieCoaster it is valuable, but not as valuable - and I had completely forgotten that before the CGA situaation had taken place all eyes were on DK and Vallejo - the city of Fresno was trying so hard to convince DK to relocate there and was offering them some extremely generous incentives if they did, but the big thing was the city of Vellajo on more than one ocassion bringing up that the parks lease was nearly over abd hinting that thet we4re not going to renew it , so CA may be losing two parks in a short time frame because I have not heard anything about the city and park kissing and making up - their lease expires in 2027 so there is a bit of time left, I have been keeping a very close eye on CGA so I have no idea where things stand at the moment in Vallejo - it is something to keep eyes and ears on,
This is a bucket list coaster for me. Wicked twister was always my fav when i was a kid so having a version that INVERTS is cool and the reaspn why it inverts is even cooler
There was a Ryan the Ride Mechanic video not too long ago talking about the technical challenges maintaining Flash V2, and if memory serves, it was discovered that the vertical spike was not engineered to be able to take the forces of the train on the holding brake with its lowered height. Makes sense that they would stop using it after that.
This coaster was the first I ever rode with an inversion. I've enjoyed dozens of rides on it and I love the floater on the back spike in the back row. It will be a bummer to see this removed but they have a bit of potential to put something else exciting in its place. LIM's have some pretty punchy launches. I'll miss this coaster if (or rather when) it's removed but I'll always be grateful this introduced me to inversions
Replace Flash with a Vekoma Super Boomerang and then replace the SLC Kong with either a Vekoma Tilt Coaster or a short, compact, but thrilling New Vekoma Inverted STC
Any thoughts on the potential for Dorney to bring back possessed’s holding break? They made a Facebook post saying something along the lines of “The suspense is killing us, we can wait to share more details about an exiting 2025,” with picture of the train paused on the back spike.
One of the leading causes of downtime on these rides is foreign objects entering the station/ride area. This includes shoes, leaves, birds, squirrels, etc. This triggers the emergency stop leading to a brief period of downtime. A way to tell if this has happened is if there is one blast of the alarm, at least on the Great America ride. Please don't wait for the last second to jettison your footwear, folks. :))
SFDK is my "home park" V2/TheFlash is the only coaster at SFDK I never went on the ends of the trains it is a fun ride but I'll understand if the park removes it due to all the issues it's been having over the years. What I didn't enjoy was them removing The Penguin water ride it was awesome on hot summer days out there it only lasted a few years.
Six Flags Mondstadt Adventure's Flash: Vertical Velocity Is Slated To Close After The 2025 Season. Mondstadt Adventure Is A Fictional SF Park In The Genshin Impact Universe.
@CanobieCoaster I get what you're saying, but the reality is they're likely not going to remove it as it would be cheaper to leave it there and run it the few times they can get it running rather then that it down and either do nothing with the space (as it's really not much space) or try to find something they can fit there as it's not like they're going to get another S&S freespin or intamin zacspin
4th and 5th car is the best because you stall upside down on the first launch and halfway upside down on the third launch Edit: Also pretty sure they added speakers to make the launch much louder than it really is.
Everything I hear about Six Flags Discovery Kingdom makes me want to absolutely never visit there. Just out of pride, they genuinely seem to hate their customers. Absolutely hate the "Six Flags way" of doing things, even Great America is hard for me to enjoy when I think about the rancid ghetto conditions of the American Eagle cue space. In general I wish enthusiasts stateside cared more about the overall experience rather than the calculated seconds of airtime in a given park, its like we give the company a pass in terms of offering anything of remote cleanliness, quality, reliability as long as the park has an RMC. And in this case said RMC always runs one train so you don't even really get to ride that too often 😡 Thats why I do love me some Canobie, always giving the full picture on these great reviews

I had that feeling before the Cedar Fair merger. Now I think it's going to be a given.

Are u gonna do updated reviews on joker or medusa or no?
Maybe if you ask it a bit more politely?
@rayadhd How was that not polite??
I will in the future, but ideally after a revisit.
When I went in June it was closed it was cool to see in person I hope it has a future but I doubt it does.
I hope it reopens, but I am skeptical.
When will the UK reviews continue?
Next week
It was running in the spring this year. I think we had gone late March (maybe mid March.)
That's lucky!
Never ridden this one, but the “normal” impulses are definitely best in the back.
I have always liked the impulses best in front.

RIP
Got kicked off this for being too tall, this has the lowest height max of any impulse at 6'3. Meanwhile Cedar Point's was 6'6 and SFGAMs was 6'8
Probably because the floor is fixed and doesn't lower.
Didn't know it had a max height limit.
