Rebirth is the most fun I have had playing a game in years. I can't think of the last time I just launched a game that I've already completed the story for to just... keep playing simply because it's fun to do it, and that's after 150 hours playing it! Thank you for being one of the few AAA studios to still produce great characters, worlds, and stories Square Enix.
They just stuck a microphone in an echo-y room and didn't put up sound blankets to help the recording. Could be because this was a spur of the moment sort of thing done at an office where they don't normally record media.
I have had so much fun experiencing this project and these games, especially with the story structure. We don't know what will happen next, just like it was when playing the original. Masterful storytelling, everything is just so much fun.
I'm playing through rebirth for the first time on ps5 pro and I gotta say, If you at least enjoyed playing original ff7 please don't make the mistake of ignoring this game like I did! This is one of the most passionate games out there! You have to absolutely try it out! Never in my life have I been so hooked up with a video game. Absolute masterpiece.

It never really dawned on me that FF V started the modern revolution for the series. That’s pretty neat and very appreciated. As you mentioned deriving magic from mako made FF7 unique to the point I would never forget it. One reason sephoroth is such a villain to me is not only for things that you mentioned but. Whether attacking the people or towns The fact that I had a chance to see first hand his cold blooded actions through plot progression. Even more watching him murder a valued member of my team right in front of me. What really drove it home was that he wasn’t some huge other worldly monster, faction, mental controlling political group or anything like that. He was just a guy who learned how little his role was.
So i bought almost all final fantasy titles on my Series X, 7,8,9,15, 10, only 7 remake, rebirth and 16 are missing. I hope i can complete my collection one day. Congrats on a fantastic franchise 👏👏

But what I am afraid of is certain translators or media in the west are intentionally twisting the original Japanese content especially about Aerith for some reasons as they’ve been doing that for decades now. That’s why I never watch anything from English. I always read it in Japanese.

I really feel like they are intentionally twisting the original content from Japanese to make people feel like Aerith and Cloud are friends or siblings. As this kind of topic was never a thing in Japan, cause everyone knew they are more than that. It’s only when I saw it on the western website that I realized people are actually arguing about this.
They used all the budget on Part 3 so there was no more budget for a $30 mic that would have dramatically improved this video where they interview the creators of a several-hundred-million-dollar franchise.

It just has designs, pictures lore etc. The Japanese version has the complete guide for some reason but not the English version. The Rebirth official ultimainia book is not officially out in English yet. I don't know if it will contain the guide.

Very talented game developers. Some things were very tedious in this trilogy and not executed well but for the most part it was a very high quality game with some awesome nostalgic moments

Its one of those things where they don't want to turn away potental sales. The same thing happened with Mass Effect 2 when Bioware ported it to PS3. They had no choice but to say that because Microsoft retained the rights to Mass Effect 1, so they would be jepodising their own sales numbers if they said that.

After pre-ordering FF16 for PC and seeing how all users have struggled with the poor optimization and insufficient patches, I refuse to pre-order FF7 Rebirth.
Unfortunately, that's still a common problem with PC ports. Too many developers struggle with with it. One of the few remaining advantages of consoles.

I love the open world and all its content. For Part 3, instead of having checklists, I hope the majority of the world content are legitimate secrets (like in Elden Ring) and there are avenues closed off, new ones opened, based on player choices, and unique experiences witnessed by as little as 1% of players (like in Baldur’s Gate 3). It is okay to have missable content. It’s always fun to keep people talking, sharing their experiences, and replaying again and again

I would love that too. Even the older games did not have checklists. Everything was a secret that you discovered. Hopefully they can return to this and also make the side content more interesting. I don't have a problem with the Remnawave towers and things like that personally, but I know other people didn't like it and said it resembled Ubisoft style of games. That's not true. Both the main characters and the whispers represent both desires to preserve and to change the original, and they also represent the creators too. When remaking a game, it's not as simple as just copy and paste everything, that would be predictable and boring, it's important to try recapture the feeling of playing the game for the first time again and to keep the players on their toes, so they have to strike the right balance between keeping and changing things. And it really is not butchered. The main story beats still happen in both Remake and Rebirth. In Rebirth, from the Nibbleheim flashback all the way to the forgotten capital, all of the same story beats that happen in the original take place in Rebirth, so you are just wrong there.
Interviewer: "So explain Rebirth's ending." Hamaguchi-san: "We care about how the fans feel, and that's we ended Rebirth in a way they could emotionally process and easily understand." Interviewer: "Great answer. Now here's another fun one to dodge. What is the general story of FF7?" Hamaguchi-san: "The world of Gaia is doomed. Doomed Gaia. Doomed Gaia. Doomguya. We added tons of content to the world, but Nomura added nothing to Sakaguchi-san's original plot, especially right under his nose when he was on the team. Ignore the OG game. Remake is arguable closer to the original than Rebirth is, and there isn't much different in Rebirth from Remake, it's essentially the same game but just the next part.
Part 3 will be a timed exclusive as that deal is already done. It will be at least 3 months: more if Sony wants to extend it as they did with remake. Hopefully Square doesn't take too long with the PC port and give Sony free timed exclusivity as they did with FF16 (paid for 6 months but released on PC a year later) and Rebirth (paid for 3 months exclusivity but released on PC 11 months later)

If they nail the story, then sure. But that's a slippery slope with wrapping up this new multiverse plot in a satisfying way.

I think it just ran off of sephiroth so closely that it is harder to distinguish. Subtitles are usually automated and not made by a person.

Remake is arguable closer to the original than Rebirth is, and there isn't much different in Rebirth from Remake, it's essentially the same game but just the next part.

Part 3 will be a timed exclusive as that deal is already done. It will be at least 3 months: more if Sony wants to extend it as they did with remake.
Hopefully Square doesn't take too long with the PC port and give Sony free timed exclusivity as they did with FF16 (paid for 6 months but released on PC a year later) and Rebirth (paid for 3 months exclusivity but released on PC 11 months later)
