I like the colour of your pair of socks nice and bright. The hairband patterns are in vogue this winter. The next knit will be socks for Peter. That cowl is knitted in a stunning colour. The Christmas Stockings are a work of art. Take care Mouse ❤😊
I think we can all relate to want to admire new yarn and worry about using it but I think that cowl is perfect for the yarn! I love the stocking, I wouldn’t normally use those colours but it looks so pretty 😊
As always a fun podcast. With advent calendars I’ll do a stripe hype dress as I love the one I did using the lonely knitter advent last year. And a shawl or two.
I’m making a Scattering Petals Cowl at the moment and loving the pattern 😊 I really can’t decide what to do with my 2 advents this year - I’ll probably wait and decide in the New Year xx
I got the same shock with the Hobbii yarn. I repeatedly washed the socks and they continued to bleed. I wash them separately now. A pale pair of socks suffered in the wash before I learned my lesson.
Absolutely loved this episode as usual ❤ Hope Dave is well, fancy being such a short appointment, when you’ve resided your mind to a long haul 😂 knit the socks but soak them in your acid to re set them it should stop any future runs ❤ I’m so happy Daisy Jones didn’t bleed I do exhaust all of the dye before rinsing yarns to within an inch of their life😂😂😂😂😂 it’s taken almost a week for this podcast to pop up on my phone so I could comment 😂you tube eh have a great week my darling ❤❤
@vivettecraftsandreads2139 I don't normally bother with socks that are just for me! I'm glad I did with these! I'm not sure a colour catcher would have had much hope of soaking it up 😬 I do always put a couple in when I wash my woolen bit these will have to be washed separately x
I am going to do your idea of moving the heel on the arne and carlos stocking. Mines in acrylic so not as forgiving as wool , so the end of rows aren’t as neat. Thank you
I'm going to give it a try. I'm a yarn dyer, so I know how to set them but I suspect it's a case of just too much dye rather than not set properly. It's worth a try though!
I know how you feel with your son - not quite as awful as seeing them get kicked and punched, but similar feelings! My 16 year old is a guitarist and he does regular gigs. Usually he's lead guitar so he gets all the complicated solos and I get horrific "stage fright" on his behalf 🙈 The adrenaline shoots my blood pressure up, high heart rate, shaking, nausea, hot and cold, and then I either have a panic attack, or the adrenaline wears itself out. Whichever happens, I'm then laid up in a flare for a week! It's SO silly, but it's completely out of my control and I've had years of therapy and medication to try and control it but nope! My body just kicks off. I've missed so many of his performances because I just can't do it. The funny thing is, he's always absolutely fine and doesn't get nervous at all 😂
Hi Mandy, I was exactly the same when my adult son took part in a charity boxing competition... no way could I go and watch my big baby getting punched and indeed him punching someone else either!!
I find myself nodding and commenting out loud at your chatter. I'm also making A&C stocking, almost caught up as I started late waiting for the yarn. I have an old WIP of the Kay Jones socks which I came across while looking for something else! opps. thanks for the podcast. Jane.
Yip I understand my sons a boxer not so much now but he won the battle of the badges twelves years knocked a policeman (son is firefighter) in 21 seconds out cold I watched it and felt sick and unwell so thereafter mum wasn’t allowed I may add he raised loads of money for children in need so that was good part but it is a worry for us mums xx
Now I have a 32 year old and a 23 year old (and a 28 yo daughter in law), I finally understand my Mum and her "give me 3 rings so I know you're home safe" routine! If she can hear me wherever she is, I constantly apologise for the things I gave her trouble over lol!
It did occur to me after filming that I could do that and maybe re set it. It's worth a try. I do love it and I love the socks, so I might try setting them also. I think its just an excess of dye 🤷♀️
Watching you retrace your mental train of thought is the most relatable thing. I love that I'm not alone!
Oh so not alone! 🥰

Sorry I chuckled when you said “I have cast on couple of new things “ 😂 it wouldn’t be you if you hadn’t! ❤
@melissaemery8686 I still haven't gone over 30 projects though! 😇😂

I love all you did and said. ❤Thank you!

Oh no! 😒
Thank you so much for your episode! It brought me so much joy!

All the tests were negative thank goodness! He's to have a blood test in a month to be sure but the consultant was satisfied it will be OK as well xx
@ oh that is good news Mandy thank goodness for that I bet you’re relieved 😌 xx take care my darling xx
When I soak and block FOs, I always include a colour catcher sheet, so I get a good idea whether or not it will run in the wash.

How dare he be so quick at the hospital thoughtless 😂😂
I know right! I had knitting plans.. he should know better than to interrupt them by now 😂
What about trying a citrus acid bath for your socks? This is what I use if I have socks that bleed a lot. It helps set the colour.
Sorry citric 😂

@ I know and the remember to wear a vest I love one in the winter we do become our mums😂
Hope Dave is ok?
Pleased you are possibly doing vlogmas!
Thank you! X
What a surprise! You cast on something new. How odd.
Do I sense a hint of sarcasm? 😂😂😂
There'd be no podcast of I didn't keep casting things on! 😂
@ yea, just a bit of tongue in cheek. I know you feel you need to keep things interesting. You do that very well.
🧦🥰🧶🐸♥
You could skein it up and soak it? It would be a shame to waste it.
It did occur to me after filming that I could do that and maybe re set it. It's worth a try. I do love it and I love the socks, so I might try setting them also. I think its just an excess of dye 🤷♀️
@ it’s so unusual for acrylic. Hope it works out for you 🤞🏻
@@NinaHay-EnchantedDesigns it's not acrylic. It's 75% superwash merino and 25% Nylon xx
@ ahhh that makes sense 🙈🤣
