    Adam, thank you so much for sharing your Inspire journey with us! I’ve been looking for a well documented experience from an actual patient and yours have done just that. Thank you! I have a consult Monday regarding trying this treatment. Best of wishes to you & God Bless My Brother!

    Thank you Adam for the updates. I am set to get my device activated in two weeks and it’s great to watch your progression and knowing somewhat issues or experiences I may encounter asking the way. I hate my CPAP with a passion but I do not wake up with headaches because my blood oxygen was 79% at night starving my brain of oxygen. I wish the VA doctors would have recommended this when I asked about alternatives and instead was met with you need to wear the mask during the day so you can sleep with it at night. The doctors who did not help at all retired and the new doctor started talking to me about the inspire and so far the journey is good. I appreciate you putting yourself out there so others can stay informed when making decisions about their health. God Bless!

      I am glad to be of help to anyone I can. Thank you for your service to our great country! I am a veteran also, Army combat medic 8 years with a 14 month tour in Iraq in 2004. God bless you and yours!

    Thanks for sharing your journey. I'm sharing your channel link with my husband because after over 10 years of using it, CPAP is just not for him. I cannot sleep in the same room with or without his mask (both options are too noisy), he gets frustrated with it, he is tired 24/7 and I worry about the effects of OSA on his heart function.
    I appreciate your honesty when sharing your personal experiences with this device/procedure.
    An even more current update would be really helpful.

    Anything over 5 is considered too high and patients are put on CPAP. My AHI without CPAP is 33/with CPAP it is below 1 on most nights. I like the concept of Inspire but the treatment is not even 50 percent improvements. I qualify for Inspire but now thinking it would not be worth it.

    The numbers are still not very good... I'm considering but I'm really not sure. it's invasive and it doesn't get rid of sleep apnea. my AHI was 62.

    • @AdamHeard
      @AdamHeard  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes my numbers are still not ideal but they are much improved from what they were and I feel much better. CPAP is the standard, nothing will give the results that could be achieved with successful use of cpap but for those who can’t tolerate cpap like me, something is better than nothing.

    Very good to hear this update I’m glad it’s been working for you. Do you overall recommend this procedure?

    • @AdamHeard
      @AdamHeard  ปีที่แล้ว

      My experience with it has been good. Of course cpap is the most effective solution for those who can do it. I think inspire should be considered for anyone who, like myself, can’t tolerate cpap.

    Thanks for the information. I had my device activated 4 days ago and started with level 3. I tried level 5 last night and could not bear it. My tongue felt like it was cramping up and could actually feel the pulse hit the back of my tongue every time I took a breath. How long did you stay at a certain level before you could move up a level? I thought my doctor said move up 1 level every three nights, but I don't think it is possible. Thanks again for the video.

      Different physicians may have different protocols so it’s best to check with yours for instructions. For me it was start at level 0 and stay at each level atleast a week before progressing. I tried to get ahead of the schedule and it didn’t work the way I hoped. If at any level you are feeling discomfort, let you doc know so they can adjust settings.

      @@AdamHeard Thanks for responding and for the information. Think i will change levels slowly. 3 days is too fast for me. Thanks again for your videos.

    Adam, how much has your snoring decreased? I'm having surgery in 2 mos.

    • @AdamHeard
      @AdamHeard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My wife says that it has decreased quite a bit. Still snore some and especially if I’m very tired but much quieter than before most of the time.

      Hi what are your numbers now? Iam having next week the Inspire but iam so scared it will not help or the numbers will be crap

  • @frankl3107

    I just don't understand how could it be considered successful if you still have such high API. I had this device implanted two weeks ago but not yet activated. Starting API of 25.8 and can barely stay awake (when I can)...hoping this is tge answer but hearing how many Apneas you still have is actually a little discouraging. Not trying to criticize you, I'm very thankful you have shared, but it just seems much less effective than I would have thought based on your numbers.
