Great videos. Today was at the VA, after my test. I’m a candidate for inspire. I’m going to do it. I’m 66 years young. God Bless you.
Thanks for the update
Congratulations appreciate you sharing your story. I had an Inspire Implanted 3 weeks ago scheduled for activation next week.
I had mine activated on 11/18/24 and was set at level 2 for 1 week, no real major changes, following monday, I went to level 3 and then i noticed a change in my sleep, 7-8 hours no problem, no waking up. I love no hoses, no machine !!!. I will go to level 4 next monday and see how that goes. Remember everyone... this is Not overnight sucess, give it time... just remember how bad you hated CPAP and you will be fine......
I workout every day at gym do you think i will still be able to
Did your insurance cover everything?? Ccap machine is just a nightmare for some people Me I’m just determined to use the device but I’m sure I’m going to end up using inspired
Had mine installed on 10/18/2024, things are good, doing my head excises, neck is a bit sore , but nothing outrageous, I am back to work today doing ok so far. I have my activation date for 11/18, cant wait to get rid of this CPAP, talk to you all soon.
You look really healthy!
I go in tomorrow for the Inspire
Is the inspire device visible when they put it in on your chest??
I am ready to roll on getting mine done on this upcoming Friday, very excited . I have laid off watching to many youtube videos of this, its driving me crazy. Ill let you know later how it went.
Thanks Adam! I had mine put in on 10/10/24
Hi Adam, just wanted to say it was 1 year ago today my Inspire was activated. I couldn’t be happier as I am with this device. My last Drs appointment was great they were well pleased with the function and what the device download indicated. Thank you for posting your experience getting Inspire and information you provided. I am telling anyone who is interested that doesn’t like cpap. I went back in May for a medical procedure and the doctor a 45 year old lady was asking me about any surgeries and the Inspire implant came up. She told me she was on cpap and didn’t like everything associated with it. I told her she should look into it and see if she would qualify because in my opinion it will change your life as it has for me. Thanks again, take care.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Inspire. Just had it yesterday so it's nice to hear how things went for you,
So does the damn thing work or not
My question
TLDW: AHI prior - 58.6 // AHI after 31.2
Why would someone consider this When a Doctor is still telling you to sleep on your side and you're taking sleep medication both of those defeat the purpose of being a free sleeper. I think all you get paid for promoting this inspire. Because it sounds to me like it's. Not doing a thing
Thank u sir
Any headaches or earache?
My implant has been activated for 10 days. Bumped up to level 2 three days ago. Healing after surgery was not a problem. My chest is still a little bit sore, and my neck scar gets in the way of shaving. No big deal. I think I'm sleeping better, but have never been a sound sleeper. I am 68 years old, and get up two to three times an evening to use the restroom. I don't notice the Inspire zapping my tongue during those times. Maybe, once I bump it up another level I will feel that. So far so good. I was on a CPAP since 2015, and had gotten to the point of where I would wear it for 3 hours, still be wide awake, and end up throwing it on the floor. I am so glad that I was qualified for using this device. They are very thorough in who they decide is a candidate.
@@Steve-jv8jf same with me but it only took 3 months. I’m so glad I got the implant. I still have to have a sleep test but anything is better than CPap!
Had one out in 9 years ago. Got the new generator on August 28th 2024.
So, how are you doing now?
Does the device have a life span? Will it need to be replaced at some point?
Thank you. I appreciated this series.
I was told to wear arm sling to prevent blood clots. Today makes three days. When can I take it off?
Wow, I’m 6 days out and having a hell of a time talking. My tongue is kind of dis formed too.
I know this is an old video but as a nurse did you have to take time off of work after the surgery? I heard you can't lift your arm above your shoulder for a while and that would mean I couldn't work during that time.
I’m investigating it too. So 2 years hence, does the system work?
Hi Adam, just wanted to thank you for all your correspondence on the Inspire implant. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea 2.5 years ago with an AHI of 56. In the last year, I’ve lost 72lbs and recently had a new sleep study done, and I’m at a 17 AHI. I’ve been on cpap for the last 2.5 years and I hate it. All the issues you’ve had, I’ve had. It leaks, it wraps around my neck, I take it off and don’t realize it. My sleep doctor told me I can look into Inspire or an oral mouth guard now. I’m waiting on pre authorization from insurance for the Inspire appt, but after watching your videos, I feel like I know what to expect going into that appt. I also wanted to mention that I am a commercial truck driver, and I’m forced to wear the cpap for compliance, otherwise I can have my CDL revoked. So I’m really hoping that I can switch to either inspire, or the mouth guard soon. Thank you for your time, and I hope you’re still doing good on Inspire.
Very informative, thank you very much for taking the time to post these videos and sharing your experience.
So how did everything turn out for all of you here?
I literally had mine installed some three hours ago. Tongue sore? Yep. Soar throat? Yep. Took a bit to wake up from the anesthesia? Of course. But everything went well. How are you doing after two years?
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm getting my implant later this morning. A little on edge after watching a video on the actual procedure. I will watch your previous videos as well. Hoping I make it through the procedure and the aftermath.
Thanks for sharing as I am being assessed for the implant 😮
Adam, Does the green light stay on after you put the device down on your bedside table? Mine went off but apparently the device was still active. I am perplexed, I thought it stopped working. Is this normal?
My lights on my remote, only show when it senses movement. I fall asleep within the 60 minutes before my device starts working, so in the middle of the night I'm sure if I picked it up the green light would be steady. It flashes until you start getting the impulses.
Nope, I've already got enough junk implanted in my body, no room for more junk, never mind yet another surgery, recovery, and outstanding expenses.
I’m one month post surgery and the only problem is the scar on my throat is very hard. They tell me it will subside as time goes on. Also I’m having even worse struggles with CPap. Losing sleep and can’t get used to it. I don’t get activated for two more weeks and I can’t wait.
Can you go back to work when you get it?
My husband is 4 weeks post inspire implant and his lip is still paralyzed. He has feeling but his smile is crooked- we are extremely concerned this is permanent.
Check out Inspire Surgery Review Part 1-5.
How long after the surgery did it take you to go back to work ?
My ahi before cpap is 7. All they will do to treat my insomnia is cpap. I feel 1000x times worse
Does it prevent snoring?
No. Not really.
So do you have a AHI under 5?
In 2 days i will be starting my 3rd week of recovery. Im still experiencing soreness in my chest but getting better every day. My mouth/tongue area is a different story. When i swallow from drinking or eating it’s still sore and quite uncomfortable. Just wondering if you experienced this.
Did you have to shave the beard for surgery?
My wife has noticed that I actually slept more sound when I was on my CPAP. I really like the convenience when traveling on our trike motorcycle if not having to carry a CPAP machine and distilled water. This being said however do you feel that it might be better for me to use the CPAP when at home and then the Inspire when traveling? Thanks
You are very lucky. I only used Oxy for two days but the swelling is very bad. Sore throat for three days but other than that both incisions itch like crazy! Hope this works as I’m still on cpap and can’t stand it.
I just don't understand how could it be considered successful if you still have such high API. I had this device implanted two weeks ago but not yet activated. Starting API of 25.8 and can barely stay awake (when I can)...hoping this is tge answer but hearing how many Apneas you still have is actually a little discouraging. Not trying to criticize you, I'm very thankful you have shared, but it just seems much less effective than I would have thought based on your numbers.
I’m researching the inspire implant bc I am struggling with my cpap. I appreciate your videos and Information. I ultimately just want to sleep and feel rested each morning. Definitely looking into the inspire. Thanks
Adam i am trying to decide on inspire. Would like to chat with you..but for 40k foe this surgery why arent you numbers at zero with inspire.. is it not activating 100%.. your numbers tell me that over 50%of tome asleep aspire is failing.. howis sleep... i sleep up to 21 hrs aday.. no life....please amswer
