    I flinched when you put your fingers near that jointer blade.

    I noticed the guard was on the jointer. Man...that is one mean machine. God bless you Jaime.

    "Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants" --- Epictetus
    I have relatively simple needs and there's not that many things that I *really* want. But man, a workshop like that tests my philosophy! :-)
    I bet that room smells fantastically woody; one of life's simple pleasures.

    Amazing!! I love your channel!! Using your tips everyday. If it wasn’t for the square and level requirement, I would be a great carpenter...Water will run off everything I make.

    You know Erik , you are great as making a seamless edited video. Love it when you include pictures. Jamie’s knowledge and passion all things tools , wood and all is off the charts. Truly you are making my recovery so much less painless as my focus when I can is so on you guys. Thank you . I take it you know as much as he does but wow I never ever realized what goes into making you both as talented as you are. Is engineering the courses you both took at college or. Equivalent term in 🇺🇸?

    Would be great to include in your build series of the making of finish pieces and then being installed into the house (if you guys do that custom work for clients- it’s a rarity but I used to work on a crew and my uncle was the finish carpenter/foreman) as that’s some true craftsmanship that is lacking in too many homes these days

    Nice shop! I have the Powermatic 8” jointer as well, just a newer version of yours. I also have carbide blades in my DEWALT 13” planner. They are straight blades though so if they ever wear out I will upgrade to the multi carbide blades. How many bandsaws did you look at before going with the Laguna? I don’t think Laguna was producing bandsaw yet when I bought my 18” Jet Bandsaw. Had I known about Powermatic and Laguna or a couple of other brands I would probably have bought the Powermatic. My 1” carbide blade does some serious re-sawing! I am hoping to get a Robust lathe one of these days
    All the best
    Ron

    Good video and nice workshop, a man should never run tool or material purchases past a woman for her approval. Your the man, you bring home the bacon.

      How do you know she doesn't make more than him and I'm sure you have a very happy wife

    • @TheToolnut
      @TheToolnut 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garrettcox7006 A man should never be in a relationship with a woman who earns more than him. That means her job will always be more important than him. A man is in constant competition with other men, he doesn't need to have to compete with his wife. If that is the case then he's in trouble. Men are leaders and women are followers. A man should never be told what to do by a woman. A man should never work with, or have a female boss. Men, then women and finally children. That is the hierarchy of the human species, this is firmly based on science and evolution.

    • @PerkinsBuilderBrothers

      Hi Bill... our dad was an architect and builder. He had us out on the job anything productive (which I hated at the time). We worked under him for about 10 years and then took over ourselves about 10 years ago. Definitely been a very rewarding and very challenging job over the years!

      Also… Our stepdad is a high end of luthier so we were always around that type of woodworking as well. Spent a lot of afternoon hanging out in his woodshop.
