Finally pinpointed what is off with it upon having it on hand. The curved and slimmed down lower torso/waist which should have been straight and a little stocky.
I think it's the shape/ proportions that are throwing it off.. strange considering that it would have been easier for them to get the shape right since they don't have to worry about any volting in gimmicks LOL
From Cuba Roly Here Great review!!! Voltes v is the first Super Robot who actually was a Machine Not a metal Super hero Minato works under Nagahama In Sunrise as a Drawer 2 years later Minato creates Gundam it was involve directly in the transformation steps of the robot
Yeah Filipino here, and yep, subscribed to your channel coz of this review alone hahahaha!! One of the biggest reasons why Voltes V is such a popular super robot here, is that its most Filipino kids' first super robot.
Awesome review fellow collector. I also picked this action figure up and love it to be honest more and more. It is bases on the 1/100 scale Master Grade - Metal Builds ect ect.....its slightly smaller by say 2-3% but I am cool with it as the action pose ability is amazing. I feel SOC is recognizing the fans which do not want the antiquated feel of the combiner aspect and don't get me wrong love me some combiner action i.e. Zeta Toys Devastator & Bruticus but its very difficult to hit a homerun.....I do own the SOC Voltron and they almost nailed it if they had just made the rachets a bit stronger in the legs...........................so for me collecting Sentinel Super Robots and Metal Build very happy with this line that said you cannot make every collector happy. to each their own!
Great review. It looks in every way possible like a larger scale SRC. It reminds me an awful lot of J-Decker. The difference is SRC J-Decker is a $50 fig. This would be fantastic at that price point. At the SOC price point? I’m not feeling the love.
I didn’t know why they didn’t just call it the dc(?) dynamic change(?) whatever the new chogokin mazingers was. Great review the forgotten tool just made the video more enjoyable
Great review as usual; well done, great shots, I appreciated these models more thanks to your reviews .... especially the Ultimetal and the Fewture. Congratulations !!! Walter
Whew glad that I skipped on this one too, it was a hard choice between the 2018 S.H. Monsterarts Mechagodzilla Kiryu and this one.. the kiryu, being cheaper by about 20 dollars, won by a small margin LOL
Chances are if this was part of the SRC line, the accessories are going to be sold separately with the same price of the fig. Also I really wish for the SRC line to continue. I guess no SRC Godannar, no SRC Gravion.. Sad.
To be fair, your previous Chogokin Voltes V Videos were really good too! Thank you for this one as well! Cheers from the Philippines (and I'm more of a Getter Robo kind of guy lol!)
I have been leaving Bandai behind, their robots keep getting smaller and their prices keep getting bigger. Very happy with my CM Corp Grendizer, Yamato Danguard Ace, King Arts Mazinger, Great Mazinger and Grendizer. Also pre-ordered King Arts Jeeg with horse. Other companies are quickly catching up.
The most expensive Voltes V on sale now is the rare Popy Voltes V with yellow elbows with box and missiles, selling for US$ 6,000 (1.5 hours from where I am); some sellers have it too but with no box but all vehicles are complete are about half that (Philippine sellers). This used to just sell about US$ 20 (twenty dollars, current exchange today) in 1986. Now it's 150 to 320 times more expensive. God bless, Proverbs 31
I wonder if they have killed the Super Robot Chogokin line, nothing new announced for that since Mazinge Zero... besides prices were getting kinda crazy for SRC, I remember paying 7000 yen for jeeg wich was way too much.
@@Nomadunlimited GX-01R (40th Anniv.) Mazinger Z (superalloy 40th anniversary Ver. ) was around 80 bucks and it came with bunch of accessory. I was not too far off.
@@Nomadunlimited by the way this figure is the first figure of the soc full action line, the price should have been lower to attract consumer for supporting the line.
Hi Charles, I know that you are not a fan of this release and maybe other FA releases, but can you do more reviews of Combattler, Daimos, Zambot, and soon Ideon. I love these releases. Thanks and great videos.
Ill try, need viewer support to make it happen via likes, subs, clicking links in description, Patreon etc. I do like em but I own so much that they arent essential for me but Id lovr to review them anyways Thanks!
Hi. I pray they make a huge all die-cast Voltes V and base that's really more updated but not too redesigned it loses Voltes' look and feel. God bless, Proverbs 31
As SoC Zyuranger ended, the series quickly devolved into a more expensive SRC. The hell, Bandai? Coupled with the inferior-designed DX Combattler V, it seems like Bandai is losing its leadership in high-end collectibles...
Super robot chogokin somehow flopped a little so bandai just put a full action name to their soc line.... Nice try, but yeah, not worthy of the gx name~
If they made it as large as the GX-31 at the same price, it would have been a home run. As it is, it's overpriced and won't go well with the rest of the GX collection.
FA = Fucking Agly toy.... and sooooo expensive... the Mini Action so much cheaper but looks way much better... nice review though....shout out Philippines!
Say what you will about Hasbro but it looks like Hasbro is being honest when it comes to their big sellers. Yeah, sure they do some things WRONG but when they tried to make effort, you can see. Here...I dunno what Bandai is trying to pull here. I thought Bandai of America was worst with what they did with PR Ninja Steel toyline but this...charging a SMALL-ASS figure for the same price as an actual SOC....nice try Bandai. Not gonna work. I also feel sorry for Masami Obari because he placed so much effort into this and when he finds out that Bandai couldn't give this its OWN LINE let alone be the Obari line and stray it away from SOC to be its own thing, you really got yourself the WRONG kinda problem here. I see potential in this...50 bucks for a J-decker I'm all in for in that SRC line but 150 for THIS?! Nope. Edit: Welp...looks like Hasbro's making worst decisions and I'm wrong. Feel free to ridicule. -_-
Is a rebatched src because they do this I am not buying it. This is not acceptable soc standard. Boycotting the entire bunch of action chogokin as is a waste of my time when effort can be directed at other characters which is not released. It is not what it is come on. Stop compromising your standards.
Thank you for the shout out, dude.
I'm Filipino, saw Voltes V and clicked, love your channel.
Me and my Husband have this as our conjugal anniversary gift! We are a Voltes V Fan and Collector as well!
Wow thats great to share something so cool in common!
This F.A. line is the Amazing Yamaguchi of the Gokin world.
Finally pinpointed what is off with it upon having it on hand. The curved and slimmed down lower torso/waist which should have been straight and a little stocky.
Yes,,,I’m Filipino too..voltes is d best..of them...alll..
correct !

Super posable and I love the proportion. Great review by the way!!
If Magnavision should release Voltes V on DVD, they need to use masters from the Japanese DVD box set & remix the English dub audio to 48 kHz.
Nice review and I hope you’ll review the new Voltes V to be release soon
You Are The Best Voltes Team!
Mabuhay from Manila! Thanks to this...i must have GX79 so i can disassemble my GX31 hehehe. More power

The background could have been...lighter ( I can barely see the image ).
Nice review tho. 😊
If Voltes-5 can do that guitar intro then I'll spend my entire annual salary for this.
I picked this one up also - think it's neat but wish it wasn't so expensive

Wish they just continued with the line
@@player2pushstart Agreed but then these guys are like..twice the price compared to what was their original prices in SRC. -_-

Not your most graceful review, but I appreciate the thoroughness and you got it all correct in the end. Well done!
I got the belt and sandals aka chancla a few times. Back in the day
I know fixed posed hands are better in the long run but for me at least, fully articulated hands always impress me. Love from the philippines man.

Most likely its a dead line... the last release i know was in 2017 great mazinkaiser which was a pban release...
I hope so but no ver.2 please....
I love it.. price maybe prohibitive... but it is worth it...
If this figure is around 80 bucks i would be down for it, but it's around 135......

Awesome review!I think this scale is perfect with the Src Mazinger.
Great review man.
great review as usual , i enjoyed it. this is a higher SRC figure. that how I feel about it.
Yiddish Spring FTW. 😂
I really want that
Great review
It's just a different chogokin series and still under chogokin. SO there's nothing wrong with it.
Wooooot!!!!
Voltes V!!!!
yeah from the Philippines
Still watching here 2024 Jan.14😂
Im from PH but I like Mazinger Z more than Voltes V.
oh this is more like a src size
Its a bit bigger but yes small nonetheless

a bit disappointed with the figure, expected more from Bandai
