Just the dress, I thought the color was amazing but wondered what it originally looked like. Then you pulled out the tops and even 150ish years later, the color and fabric are exquisite!

Is this mauveine? It looks like it might be made with the first aniline dye, which would explain why she had never seen the color before and makes the gown even more special.
