Joe's on fire! This man was among the most soulful, intelligent players ever. Thx for this post. Such a good group...Bheki Mseleku? So lyrical. Foster/Mraz.. reliable & constant & driving
Bheki Msekelu lost the upper joins of his right hand little and ring fingers, in a childhood accident. I didn't notice it uptil i read about it. Amazing!
Never thought about it before but Henderson's tone and style remind me of George Coleman, especially on the first tune. Both greats. Thanks for this post.
Bheki Mseleku even though he had some parts of his fingers missing on his he adapted to it and played brilliantly and as if he had a full set of digits. Rachmaninoff would have envied Bheki's virtuosity. Rachmaninoff we all know he had these huge these huge hands and he could stretch more than a 13th. Joe Henderson was this cool musician who just silently and in a very subtle way blew you away both literally and figuratively this silent giant who just spoke through his horn. Recordame was one of his compositions that we went through in thoroughly in my years as a student in 1989-90
I had the blessing to play wit Joe and woody Shaw on Lenny Whites drums all beautiful cats...Black Classical Music! NOTHING LIKE IT ......!!!
Joe Henderson, nothing less than superb, saw him in the early '90's, one of the greatest concerts I've ever attended.

Joe Henderson, what a sound! I play tenor sax and I listening to this makes me feel like switching to harpischord!

Bheki was a beautiful musician. Played great piano and saxophone all while missing half a finger. RIP
In Beki ho risentito un pò di
Cesar Walton

Superb
Al Foster sits so low at drumsuunlike Elvin Jones or Art Blakey. Amazing
George Mraz - bass
The bassist's name is Mraz. That is Czech, and certainly has no German umlaut.
Just in case you want to hear more of the guy.
+Mareike Döring Esatto ,ed ho fornito la biografia con l'esatta grafìa del nome ,sopra.
I have been knowing George Mraz since Munich 1965. By that time his first name was Jiri - he must have changed that in the USA.
Al foster sounds great here
Bheki Mseleku is McCoy Tyner's musical twin :)

Beatrice
legendary piano player ?? really ???
George März is fine. Αpril und Mai are better..
Ooops a pooper from me. That's not Al Foster on drums
Yes, Al Foster is on the drum set
Marz is not really a soloist; he just makes sound effects.
+Ricardo da Mata If your going to criticize at least take apart his solos note for note before you do.
Before you start to criticize , critique or make any comments on an artist's playing the very least you could do is get his name right : George Mraz .
No ears,
@@martinsaltzman5003 This is called "criterion" ;)
