I saw Joe once in SF, a little jazz club on Broadway. With Brackeen on piano, mid 70s i guess. Saw Joanne at the San Jose Jazz Festival in the mid 90s. Both great, Joe is a legend.
ah ! finally i found the whole concert here. great. i had it seen many times in the 80´s on my VHS recording i did from TV. also saw your herbie 80´s concert from berlin. i was there front row. DO YOU HAVE THE 80´s berlin concert of B HUTCHERSON C WALTON BILLY HIGGINS DAVID WILLIAMS ?!?!?!?!?!?!??! i had it on VHS but some how lost the VHS.
Thank you so much for this. As far as I know, this is the only recording of Power to the people I’ve seen, which is my favorite Joe track (besides serenity). Cheers!
Joe Henderson brilliant
What a wonderful player Joe Henderson was. He was up there with the greatest, in my opinion.
on bass (the great) KIM CLARKE. ! ! ! 🌹

I had the honor of meeting Joanne at a workshop at UNF in 1998 as I recall. She was so generous and gracious. She is one eclectic force.

Henderson’s rhythmic genius makes his solos unique
Joe died in 2001, Joanne is 85, still going strong.

It’s hard to tell by the sound of the bass if it’s electric or not
Is that an electric bass?
