Mark and Paul Words alone cannot express how much I enjoy and appreciate your videos and podcasts. I'm an old Mainer, lived in Oxbow for many years. I hunted and fished back in The Allagash country way back in the 70s and 80s, mostly around Umsaskis Lake, Ross Stream (Chemqusabamticook) and along Harding Brook. I knew Dana McNally, Wilfred "Sleepy " Atkins, Les Gardner and other legendary Maine woodsmen. Yes,I'm old 😂. Back in those days that country was virtually roadless. A guy pulled off the road, took a compass bearing and hunted all day without crossing a road. I was a Registered Maine Guide for many years and guided for every critter we have up there. Partridge hunting over my two wonderful Brittany's was one of life's greatest pleasures. My wife and I now live in Wyoming but miss our beloved Maine woods. God Bless and keep em coming. Jim from Wapiti Wyoming
I know for deer hunting if I'm on a watch and I can hear one coming it can sure bring up the heart rate in a hurry . Once I see it I usually calm down and just focus on the shot . It's the hearing part that gets me .
Awesome podcast guys!!!! Love em and keep them coming!!! And thank you for mentioning the Berniers!!!! I’m sure Pop and his son would have been very happy you mentioned them!!!
Awesome guys, it is nice to have the pressure off with your dad getting a moose. It’s both fun without and with the pressure off. It’s fun to hunt hard when you can, but it’s nice to sit back and enjoy the season with a full freezer right off. Good luck this year guys.
So true! I've always loved the next morning at camp after shooting a buck and it's on the game pole. You get up, get a cup of coffee and watch the sun come up over a cold November morning...and you have have a punched tag😉. It's pretty satisfying😁
Thanks Fellas, and good Luck this year!....30 years in Hunting im only 36 and it still happens to me nearly every darn time, and i have to get a grip on my self, that Adrenaline is like nothing else!
If you like to read about deer hunting I would recommend Dr. Nordberg and his collection of deer behaviors and observations over many years of documentation.
Elon has enough cash to be risky, most of us can not afford to be that risky. Us poor folk take different kinds of risks, like a class 3 rip with a strainer on the left and no pool below. Elon would fail totally on that risk. I suspect he doesn't hunt or fish. RFKjr took a risk telling about the bear he picked up off the road then ended up planting as a prank. That was risky to retell and I appreciated the story. I'm watching some 200+ pound deer tracks locally and risking if I should enter the local big buck event at our local tagging station. great to sit down with my eggs and coffee and listen, thanks
We love to switch it up...usually for nostalgia sake. For instance, Mark hunted this whole trip with an old single shot 410. My SxS shotguns have fixed chokes (left barrel is modified, right is improved). My favorite is a 20 gauge SxS. I use an old 12 gauge O/U as a beater (thats choked full and mod). My wife has a nice little 28 gauge O/U that shoots really nice. For ammo, I've been having really good luck with RIO Texas Game Load HV 2 3/4" #6 shot. I still have a lot of random boxes of shells from back when ammo was hard to get and we were buying whatever was available.
@@MaineOutdoorEnthusiast thanks. That’s what I usually do as well. Each gun has a different meaning to me , therefore I switch it up. I would love to say I’ve hunted my whole life with one shotgun or deer rifle and it be well worn with memories and character. But I guess it’s more meaningful to me to be able to take different ones and remember what each one represents, if that makes any sense. I do enjoy hearing the stories of you and your families adventures.

Thanks Jim! That’s so cool! I grew up hunting the same places 😊. I’m so glad you can relate! I bet you have plenty of stories!
@MaineOutdoorEnthusiast
I sure do. I also guided for Hal Blood and can attest to the fact that he's the real deal, and a good guy.

Thanks! I always loved the hunting stories back in the day. They hunted pretty handy to us back in the 80's and 90's😁
That is so true. How we hunters can remember things about hunting decades ago. Sometimes, i can't remember what I did yesterday. Great show ❤
I know, right!? Us hunters are all very similar 😁
Great podcast! Glad you guys are getting some birds! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! It's been a wonderful fall so far!
Great to see you boys out in the field! Here’s hoping for some better weather.

Buck fever is real. Been there. Done the crazy things 😮😊

Failure is when you quit to succeed. Most of the time, we don't succeed, so we continue on until we do in life's journey.
That is so true! You are right to keep going, never give up!

You know, it's just proof that you love it that much...the emotion is real! Tanks for watching and good luck this fall!
@@MaineOutdoorEnthusiast Thanks Fellas
I have no fear of failing. When I'm in the outdoors, I'm winning. Yes, I have thoughts, and that's just that, thoughts.
That's the mindset to have!😁
Im from Perth-Andover area accord the border. Love your shows.
Nice! Not far at all! Thanks for watching!

What are your choices in shotguns, ammo, chokes, etc. do you have favorites or do you switch it up?
