Famous Shankar Jaikishan copied Margarita of Elvis Presley and made "Kaun Hai Jo Sapnon mein aya.." and it became a super hit song by Mohd Rafi!!! They just copied note by note of the Elvis song and claimed the credit!!! Many of our famous musicians were just copycats of Western Music!!!

It's probably licensed. The original song is from a Bengali Indie late 80s Early 90s band Mohiner Ghoraguli and was sung by Goutam Chatterjee, their lead vocalist. That song is a banger, might say one of my favourites; Not just the composition, vocals and the instruments were great, but the lyrics were also really poignant, talking about the distance in our relationships in the modern world due to Television (lol), and is more relevant now than it was back then. Most of their songs are great really.
