You don't define M. Ward by his association with She & Him. I know Zoey Deschanel is more well known, but as a musician she ain't no M.Ward. It would be better to describe him as one quarter of the super group Monsters of Folk. He's actually one of my favorite artists. I saw him for the first time opening for some other band I had never heard of at the Troubadour in early 2002. I was sitting at the bar with my back to the stage enjoying a drink when I heard a song that sounded immediately familiar but at the same time strange but good. I turned around and as I listened I eventually realized he was covering David Bowie's "Let's Dance". It was such a unique take that even when I knew what it was I still thought it was a different song. I listened to the 3 piece band and enjoyed the rest of the set of all songs I'd never heard. When the headliners came on I was not impressed so I went to the bar in the front room and found M. Ward with his band mates standing alone hawking CDs and t-shirts, etc. I really wish I was back into collecting vinyl then (I did as a kid but didn't get back into it until 2005), but I did buy every CD he had (1 Live recorded in France, and his first two solo albums). I talked with them for a while because I don't think many other people came out to buy his stuff. That seemed crazy to me because I instantly loved his unique sound. I got him and his mates to sign the CDs. Since then I've gone to see him anytime he was playing in LA. I drove to San Diego when he was touring for Transistor Radio and I did get him to sign a copy of that album on vinyl. He was still manning the merch table by himself at that point if you can believe it.I saw him with my then GF at LA city college shortly after that and he had a female singer come on stage to do a couple of songs. I had no idea who Zoey Deschanel was at the time, but my GF new her and she was excited. This was still a couple years before the first S&H album. I also went up to Portland a couple times just to see him live. Those where much bigger shows. And one time when I was on Oahu I saw a flyer with him doing a show there that I had no idea about. Unfortunately the show was a day after our flight back to LA. Oh well. I've gotten to see him plenty live but it would have been cool to go to Oahu and just happen to catch an M. Ward show. Loved all your other stuff. Nice collection. Did you get the 10" Astral Weeks form RSD a couple years ago? I wanted to get that but wasn't able to.
Wow! Thank you for that story. And yes, he is probably best known for his Him to the She. I do love those records. But yes, Monsters of folk is amazing. I do own that record. I used to play that a lot when it first came out. I should pull it out and give it a spin. I’m not a big fan of Jim James but I like him on that record. M. Ward is such an underrated guitar player. You know his music much more than I. I only have some cds. And still need to grab his stuff on vinyl. Thanks for the comment and the story. Loved it. Cheers, ☘️

I’ve seen more than a few already and I gotta say, yours is #1 so far! Keep spinning brotha!!!! I can’t wait to get back and do my thing with my music room and collection.
Luvin your music room dude. I too have an addiction for those round spinning music makers. My record room is forever changing and constantly being added to. I have been a collector for 50 years and have just finished cataloguing with just over 17000. Do you think I have a problem.... From the land down under 🤩
Over 17,000??? Holy smokes. I think you should make a room tour. I’d love to see it. It’s an addicting hobby. I trade and sell them off to keep my collection mildly tame. I like to keep it around 2000 but I’ve been debating recently if I want to add another shelf. Hahaha Cheers☘️
Just one more shelf..... Lol. I buy to listen and collect. Just luv records. I'm currently looking at having a Saturday night fever dance floor put in. It's such an incredible feeling to chill and just absorb sounds. May do a video one day. Am rather a private person and very rarely comment. Don't do any social media. Really luv that album you were playing. I need to grab a copy. Thanx for replying and keep on groovin... 🤩

I thought about doing a room tour of mine but I'm in the garage..lol when you're first coming the garage the washer and dryer in here then my daughter's playhouse , then the last half of the garages for my music. So it's pretty crowded but I enjoy it. You've got some really nice stuff brother man!
I never did one before because I was in my living room at my old house. I couldn’t display anything so I really didn’t have a real space. But any place is a good place! Thanks Rod. Cheers🍀
That’s an amazing room you have there. Black Joe Lewis was booked to play a festival last May a block from my house. You can guess what happened with that. I think I caught glimpse of a Those Darlins album in your “new” box, which I love (just so you know people are paying attention).

Is it the double live CD? I had him sign the same cd. Hahaha I highly recommend the RT 85. I researched for a very long time before I bought it.
Loved it. Cheers, ☘️
Maravilhoso seu espaço! Abraços do Brasil
Obrigado!

Great music room thanks for sharing . Listening to your stories and bands you like most seem to be indie bands. Have you ever heard of Water Tower
I do love Indie bands but I’m all over the map. I’ve never heard of Water Tower... 🤔 Thanks for the tip. I’ll check them out.
Cheers🍀
Geez most people would love to just have your living room as their listening room! I will continue to watch and post comment of your actual record room shortly!
That’s hilarious 🤣
That is one hell of a nice receiver brother!!! Very cool you've had it your whole life
My whole stinking life. Haha
No need to upgrade at this point. Lol
Cheers🍀
Dude! You have amazing taste… huge Morrison fan here!!! I am re-doing my music room once i get back from overseas and I have been watching videos to get some ideas. I’ve seen more than a few already and I gotta say, yours is #1 so far! Keep spinning brotha!!!! I can’t wait to get back and do my thing with my music room and collection.
Thank you so much for the kind comment. It made my day. Good luck with your room!
Cheers,
Brian ☘️
Luvin your music room dude. I too have an addiction for those round spinning music makers. My record room is forever changing and constantly being added to. I have been a collector for 50 years and have just finished cataloguing with just over 17000. Do you think I have a problem.... From the land down under 🤩
Over 17,000??? Holy smokes. I think you should make a room tour. I’d love to see it. It’s an addicting hobby. I trade and sell them off to keep my collection mildly tame. I like to keep it around 2000 but I’ve been debating recently if I want to add another shelf. Hahaha
Cheers☘️
Just one more shelf..... Lol. I buy to listen and collect. Just luv records. I'm currently looking at having a Saturday night fever dance floor put in. It's such an incredible feeling to chill and just absorb sounds. May do a video one day. Am rather a private person and very rarely comment. Don't do any social media. Really luv that album you were playing. I need to grab a copy. Thanx for replying and keep on groovin... 🤩
Why am I watching this ? Been there done that !
You may have missed something the first few times!! Hahaha
Brian awesome room tour love your setup and you have some killer posters and picture especially that Van Morrison one. Love those Pioneer amps very cool take care. lovellandrew
What’s up Lovell. Thanks for the comments and for watching. How’ve you been?

@@ShamrocknRecords everything has been cool here in the Midwest 🥂🙏
Nice set up Brian!! thanks for the tour!
Thanks for stopping by Zach.
Cheers 🍀
Nice. We have a lot of the same artists in common.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! ☘️
Awesome. Not sure about the plastic sleeves though 🤣
Thanks for watching☘️
Soundtracks to me are the best to buy. Every music that was invented are in soundtracks. Do you collect soundtrack vinyls (from 976-CREOLEMAN)?
I don’t have a large selection of soundtracks but I have about 30 or so. Thanks for watching. ☘️
@@ShamrocknRecordsYour welcome.
Great tour, thanks Brian👍
Kimbooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for watching brother. Coming to Maine anytime soon???

Wow great to see someone else in Maine
We have to represent the 207.

The Shammy Shack, where Rock lives forever 👍 the analog vu meters on that amp are ever sexier than Pamela Anderson of the baywatch
The Shammy Shack!! That is sticking. I told my daughter and she died laughing. Hahaha

Nice room. I live in Portland. We are neighbors!
That’s fantastic. I live in Saco. I am digging in Portland all of the time.

Nice museum you have in your place there! :) - Russ
That’s funny. Thank you Russ

I have a Pioneer SX-650. I scored it from Craigslist for $100. Needs a tuneup, but works great still.
I love my Pioneer. I’ll never get rid of it. Great score!
Cheers🍀
Back beat had a super soundtrack. Think I had they on tape. Surprised Mazzy has never shown it.
Mazzy shows everything! Haha
Cheers🍀
Hey Brian, thanks for doing the music room tour. They are some of my favourite VC videos. I've always loved your connection to everything Celtic, something you and I have in common. I need to do a room tour one of these days. Sláinte!
Yes you do need to do a tour. I’d love to see it! Thanks Edwin.
Cheers🍀
Really really cool room man!
Hell yeah!!! I loved Those Darlins. I’ve shown them in a couple videos before. Good eye. Too bad you missed Black Joe. My buddy ended up smoking up with him after the show. Haha
Cheers🍀
really great record room video..love your indie stuff... met Bob Schneider outside the Bodeans show here in Reno.. signed a live Cd....and I am getting a rt85 soon. no need yo mess around with any thing else... could keep writing. but.. will tune in again soon !! I am pretty new in the VC...stop by if you have time... Regards, JT
Is it the double live CD? I had him sign the same cd. Hahaha I highly recommend the RT 85. I researched for a very long time before I bought it. It had everything that I wanted for the price point I was comfortable with. It’s made my records sound amazing. I’ve heard things that I hadn’t heard before. I’ll check out your channel. Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers🍀
Hey thanks for getting back to me... yeah I researched it as well.. they are back in stock, so that's what I am getting... really refreshing to see M Ward, and all of the indie bands that you love... I have been down with them, pretty much since day one..
@@ShamrocknRecords Let me check... it's the tour in 2003.. he soloed the opening for the Bodeans..need to dig it out, I am buried in my record room..
@@jtsrecordroom3963 - Just subbed you! Looking forward to getting to know you!
He signed my Live at the Paramount. 2 cd set with dvd from 2009.
Thanks for the room tour, nice space! By the way: what's that music running in the background? Greets from Hambcurg
Spinning in the background is The Soundtrack to the movie “Backbeat”. Check it out!

Thx, already in my collection, sounds great
Hey man, how are you? Dig the room tour. I just posted one of my music room as well. Hope all is well with you.
I watched your tour a bit ago but I was lazy and didn’t leave a comment. Looks fantastic!!!
@@ShamrocknRecords Well, if you find yourself in MetroWest and want to kick it college style, you now know where the beer fridge is in Natick! 😁🍺🍺🍺
Brian, nice music room. You seem to have a lot of titles that no one shoes. Thanks, Chris
Hey Chris, thanks for watching buddy. I think I do have taste that most vinyl collectors are not in to. That’s ok by me. I like what I like.
Cheers.
Brian🍀
No SACD ? Very nice set-up.
Thank you John. No, no SACD. Maybe someday..
Cheers🍀
Pretty cosy !
Thank you so much for watching.
Cheers🍀
My opinion only, which don't mean a damm :) - but too me the music room is like a museum setting, not like a room to kick it and listen and relax. :)
Thanks for watching. It’s all good. Maybe it comes off like that in the video but it seems chill in the room itself. Thanks for the comment.
Cheers☘️
Thats one pretty damn cool record room! :)
Thank you so much.
Cheers🍀
Thanks from tour! These are always interesting to watch!
What was that "The White Buffalo"? I guess it wasn't White Buffalo (Jake Smith) that I know?
Because there was Roadrunner playing, I just have to recommend you to listen also Hurriganes (1974) version from that song. ;)
Tales from the Deadwax mug is so cool! I hope he would be more active.
mr. FInglish (Bäd English Recs)
Yes, that is White Buffalo Jake Smith. I love him. Such a great songwriter and voice. I miss Andy too.
Cheers🍀
@@ShamrocknRecords Oh it was "Darkest Darks, Lightest Lights" -album? I looked that color first wrong. I thought it was grey. :D
You are correct sir!
Wow that poster is sick
