They should leave off the graphics. Nice solid colors with a set of classic RE badges on the tank and let the customer do whatever customizing they want.
Completely agree 100%. The bike in the video isn’t so bad but some of the other colors have way to much going on. I like my machines stripped down and lawyering over the stickers prevents removing them without causing issues.
Designers usually agree that less is more. Its what you do with the less that's the real test. They have certainly passed this time and the compact simplicity of this bike is heartwarming.
I saved this to watch after work today (Friday treat). I sat down with a glass of Drambuie and quickly realised I'd gone mad or road fumes had poisoned me. Then I heard the comment about the world turning under the bike and, "I'll get me coat". Good one stewart. Love the videos
So... I would call it a bobber simply because it looks great without the rear seat and rack, so far I've heard that the seating position is pretty square, not like the Meteor. If I had to get my hands on one, all I'd really change is the intake and exhaust, as usual, and I'd try replacing that tripper pod and Speedo with the Interceptor units.
I love the look of the shotgun 650 and it is stacked with some really well thought out mod cons such as that removable pillion seat. I hope they produce some more inspiring colour options and I wish that usb port was up on the handlebars. Nice to charge your phone whilst you use it as a sat nav. Anyway, thanks for the content, always really great. Your classic 350 vids have kept me going whilst I wait for mine to be delivered on the 28th of this month.
LOL I love this channel, its like a box of chocolates. You never quite know what your going to get but you always enjoy it. Top sense of humor sir, that intro was classic. Then you keep your word and give us all the details the generic channels have completely missed, Thank You!
Once again Royal Enfield have a winner with the Shotgun. A real looker and with everything you need and nothing more. The pillion seat/ luggage rack is brilliant and is a major selling feature for me. And of course the 650 engine has been tested and proven numerous times. Thanks once again Stuart for a honest ,comprehensive review. Cheers and ride safe,Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Love this…the 1st minute review reminded me of some actual reviews out there! 😂 Got the opportunity to sit on the Shotgun for the 1st time yesterday & the grey 1 as shown here did look great. Can’t wait to watch and listen to your thoughts over the next couple of weeks. 👊😎👍
@simontilbey it will be coming its RE they tend to launch 3-4 motorcycle with 1 engine and part sharing plus they have officially said they will be launching 1 motorcycle every 3-6 months so this is done coming Aug sept it will be classic 650, we have seen bike testing in India looks similar just with a single long seat and few other changes next bike will be scram 450 sharing with new himalyan 450
hi, i also would love to fit this in a bullet category rather than bobber or crusier but there is a bullet 650 comming already spied testing lot of times

Great start, can't wait to see your thoughts on the test drive! Am seriously troubled by the choice between a Super Meteor and a Shotgun to upgrade from my Meteor 350. Will very much appreciate your support on the matter 😎 (considering I mainly drive with pillion)
I personally think the shotgun looks far nicer than the S- meteor and I too was looking at getting one. The shotgun also seems to have some great customisation options that you can do on the quick that make it a winner for me. Hope you have fun making the decision, get out and test ride them both. 🤘💀🤘 All the best

@@BikerMatt86 Waiting for the Shotgun to arrive here in Thailand... Testing the SM this weekend (for a second time) Agreed as far as mods are concerned, the Shotgun is most likely to be a winner on that purpose, but I do very, very much appreciate the S-Meteor's look as well, even standard. And, unless proven otherwise by road test, believe the SM to be better adapted to pillion riding...
One of many reasons to get the Super Meteor over the shot gun would be the back rest to keep your pillion on your bike. The shot gun looks to me like you won't be able to put a backrest on it.
The Shotgun is custom made for me. I am selling my 2023 Classic 350 to buy this, in this color. The tired old saying that many say but few follow; “it’s all you need” applies to this exceptional motorcycle. Fun review!
Absolutely loved the informative introduction, now I know why the tank is above the engine 😂. I through the same as you when I first saw the Shotgun that it had a look of the classic. I really like this bike and it has some nice detailed touches. I saw one in my RE dealer and they look great in the flesh. That is a clever pillion seat/rack arrangement.
Glad to see that you have this bike for review. Looked at them last weekend and what a thing it is. This is the first bike to come along and tempt me off my Interceptor. Looking forward to hearing you thoughts on it.
Loved the chipmunk intro 😂 I recently visited a dealership that had all models on display, sat on the 650 Meteor,I was amazed at the quality of the finish. Looking forward to your follow up videos Stuart, thank you.
I think I prefer this bike out of all the 650 range. Love the blacked out look. The only disappointment is the lack of a ‘shotgun’ exhaust. That would’ve looked superb! 👌🏻
Great intro! 😂. I really want to like this model. The tripper is a bit gimmicky for me. I dont see the need. The excessive weight is what really concerns me. Why in the world is it so much heavier than the interceptor? I have seen a couple of videos where the interceptor out paces the shotgun by a large margin. That being said. I could probably get a decent used interceptor and spend for upgrades to attain similar riding triangle as my circumstances would afford. The interceptor weight can be reduced as well. Thus would provide even greater power to weight ratio. The dimensions if the shotgun are very close to the interceptor and classic 500. I cant wait for your in depth review and comparison to the interecptor. There has been some discussion about seat comfort and the short rear shock travel. Information and pics are leaking about a classic 650 in 2025. But if the weight is still that much above the interceptor it will be a deal killer. I think topping the interceptor is going to be a difficult challenge. The interceptor makes better use of the 650 power plant. But hey its just my humble opinion.
You have not said anything negative about this bike because it is a fantastic looking bike looks even better in the flesh. And with the rear seat removed and if you also want to remove the rear rack(why) it transforms the bike yet again. I can see one of these in your stable. Looking forward to seeing more reviews on it. 👍👍
I'm glad we're finnaly getting review samples because all the promo material was done with the color variants and we had almost no one covering this gray one. I'm still on the fence if I like this one more than the stencil white, I just wish it was closer to black than gray
A quick start, couple of exhaust notes... and a small ride would have added a million dollar value to this review. None the less... I enjoyed it. Love from India 😇
Have a look at the Jawa Perak 350, in style more of what I would like for the ShotGun/Bullet 650. Sure, can exchange the wheels and other parts, but why not offer immediately.
All metal bike, mid controls,Showa forks & I like the black look on this bike. Great looking bike & some alloy bling too.Tripper be handy & I wonder how they do it for that price too.
Hi Stuart i purchased my Shotgun about three weeks back and i love it the same colour as the one you have reviewed my only grip as with the RE Interceptor and the Shotgun that i have owned is that the India community must have small feet because i have had to lengthened the gear leaver about 1 and1/2 inches mind you my feet are size 13 and 1/2 keep up the great work and happy riding Bob
RE have done it for me again in as much as they've interested me in a style of bike which I probably wouldn't usually consider. I own a Continental GT 650 and if it wasn't for this and the Interceptor I wouldn't have been looking at air cooled middleweights. In terms of the platform ejecting subscribers....if you've spoken out or voiced concerns about certain agendas and policies since, say, March 2020 then this is what they do. I've experienced the same. People keep having to resubscribe.
Be interested to see where they have moved the rear brake fluid holder., from the position on the Super M650. When you do a review, would you please mention this. Cheers...
Loved the intro. I was ready to listen hard to understand all of it as presented. As always, with a new model there will be minor dislikes. Most of the bikes I've owned in the last 50 years have had minor issues that moto jouralists have pointed out and made them major. One was my '85 K100RS with an unrideable seat that must be changed out immediately. I logged almost 100 K on that bike. Even my dealer said if you can't accept minor niggles, go to your auto.!!! I love that pillion seat removeal. I hope this works over to other models. 👍👍5🏍🙋♂️
That was a rock solid review/walk around Stuart. I've never watched you before but I have liked and subscribed. I was impressed when you said you don't watch other tubers reviews as you don't want them influencing your own review.......very smart......but this is truly is a beautiful motorcycle.......we dreamed of them when we were young.....I think I will buy one....Thanks again, Karl
Loved the intro, more please. The Shotgun is sort of growing on me, wasn't sure when I first saw it but my mind is changing. It's modern but undeniably Royal Enfield and, if it was parked outside the Ace cafe in the sixties at first glance it wouldn't look out of place, until you took a closer look. Just being picky, you can't use an FMJ in a Shotgun, wrecks the barrel.😀
Good morning Stu. Have you been eating Haribo. lol. Good video. I look forward to the reviews on this bike. I liked the concept bike when it was first shown a couple of years ago at the NEC but I think the bike has been improved since then.
Why all painted? My immediate thought is that it will comply with the EU ban on the use of chrome.. Looking forward to your views on how it performs Stuart.
I saw the similarity with the Bullet too! But the funny thing is RE is currently also testing 650 versions of the Classic and Bullet 😅 Can’t wait to watch your full review!
The only thing I don't like is the decals, I think it cheapens the look. I will possibly own one of these and if I do, I will sand the decals away and repaint. This one will work on American highways.
So there I was, pretty much made up my mind to go and try this here Shotgun with a serious intention of buying one. And then I see stuff on youtube about a forthcoming Classic 650. What the hell do I do? Should probably mention I've got a Classic 500 already and love it.
First video I’ve seen with the bike in this colour, really like it,all the other ones have been blue, thought my phone was playing up on the intro ,nearly got me there.🤣
Raining for a change eh Stewart 🤦🏻. Lovely bike. My biggest problem would be which one to choose, 350 or 650, Hunter or Meteor and now Shotgun and what colour? It’s all too much.
Does anyone else think the rear looks strange? the rear seat, mudguard assembly? I also question the durability of the blacked out engine and exhaust system. But agree they couldnt do much else. I bet its good though👍
Well here I go, it's just a bike that,s all as he said you do everything on it and I think that it a great thing , you now the bikes of 70 and 80,s you go to work, to the pub, shops holiday on it . I think the tank can be longer at the front a little lower in the frame, I do like the seat turning into a carry rack that's smart very smart thinking.
I heard about the Bullet similarity by some of the guys in India when it debuted. Also it maybe the Classic 650 with the same mentality in the 350 line up same basic architecture. Just minor differences to make a different experience as per model. Can’t wait for the Classic 650 .
I thought the video was playing the wrong speed. Lol. I would rather have the Shotgun than the Super Meteor I think. But the USB port would be better on the bars like the Hunter.
You had me for a few minutes with the beginning 😆 Excellent video as usual , the more I see of these Royal Enfields the more I fancy one. This Shotgun 650 certainly seems to fit the bill 👍🙂🚴
This is a very nice looking motorcycle. When I look at it, I find myself staring at it. I can't find anything that isn't very appealing. It's pure machine. It's speaking to me, get on and we can become good friends...Lovely bike.
What the heck kind of intro was that 😂😂😂
I definitely thought my iPad speakers we’re playing up 😂
LOLZ! My mouth dropped open and stayed that way for the first few minutes of the video
The lad has a proper sense of humour! most of these bike channels are way too serious.
Good job he tweaked his voice though....
With some of his theories I'd believe it was his actual opinion
Had to reboot my buds two times due to perceived bad signal. Brilliant !
Intro by Stuart Fillingham age nine and three quarters…
I half expected him to start singing "We represent the lollipop guild, the lollipop guild!"
They should leave off the graphics. Nice solid colors with a set of classic RE badges on the tank and let the customer do whatever customizing they want.
I keep saying the graphics are ugly. This bike should ship blacked out and plain. Badges are enough embellishment.
Completely agree 100%. The bike in the video isn’t so bad but some of the other colors have way to much going on. I like my machines stripped down and lawyering over the stickers prevents removing them without causing issues.
I'm guessing a future 650 Classic will be very, very similar to the Shotgun, with traditional detailing and chrome.
Imagine the bike in bright metallic red, blue, yellow, green etc
I thought something was wrong with my speakers 🔊🤣
Same here 😂
Designers usually agree that less is more. Its what you do with the less that's the real test. They have certainly passed this time and the compact simplicity of this bike is heartwarming.

Morning Stuart, Royal Enfield does actually make our world go round! 🙌👍😉
May it well continue to do so !
Cheers Mel 🍻
GORGEOUS.
I want one in maroon red.
Me too
So... I would call it a bobber simply because it looks great without the rear seat and rack, so far I've heard that the seating position is pretty square, not like the Meteor.

Shotgun small stepping stone to the new classic 650
Yes, essentially the same but with more "traditional" wheels, lamp/instruments etc. Waiting.....
@simontilbey coming
@simontilbey Google's your friend; Plenty of spy shots of it during testing. Even more Bullet-like than this bike.
@simontilbey They've registered the name too. Classic 650 Twin.
A good introduction Stuart and I look forward to seeing the following reviews as this bike has my interest.

Do you do Haribo adverts too? 😉 - great video!
Absolutely gorgeous looking motorcycle! Royal Enfield go from strength to strength!
Hello Stuart, thank goodness for a sense of humour and,,, my favourite background music.
A very detailed review, looking forward to a ride review.
Absolutely loved the informative introduction, now I know why the tank is above the engine 😂. I through the same as you when I first saw the Shotgun that it had a look of the classic. Restarted 3 times thinking my audio was playing up you wee scamp. Love the Shotgun, going to be a customiser's dream
Royal Enfiled hit a grand slam! It is a nicely priced, modern and handsome motorcycle! None are available where I live (Thailand) yet!
Eagerly waiting arrival at RE Phuket as well 😍🙏
A great looking bike and dark grey is my favorite color. Why they don’t put the USB charging port on the handle bar escapes me completely
Loved the chipmunk intro 😂 I recently visited a dealership that had all models on display, sat on the 650 Meteor,I was amazed at the quality of the finish.
Looking forward to your follow up videos Stuart, thank you.
Great introduction for the Shotgun. Can't wait to see your next ones too.
Have to admit, I had to restart the video because I thought the sound was messing up. The second time, I figured out what was going on. Funny..😂
I think Shotgun would look very beautiful with Super Meteor rear mudguard. Closer to Classic models.
Add the clocks from the gt/int too?
I think I prefer this bike out of all the 650 range. Love the blacked out look. The only disappointment is the lack of a ‘shotgun’ exhaust. That would’ve looked superb! 👌🏻
Uncle Stu reaches the parts other reviewers don't!
This color is the only color I like on the Shotgun. I wish it was actually black but this is really cool looking
Enjoyed that and found the information useful/factual, Thanks Stuart.

Brilliant video as always Stuart and its a lovely looking thing, and I can't wait for the full review 😃👍🏻
You are fully right about how the world turns, and the RE is being supported by the modern electric propellors that rise everywhere
A quick start, couple of exhaust notes... and a small ride would have added a million dollar value to this review. None the less... I enjoyed it. Love from India 😇
Suprising start to video . Whatever RE 650 someone buys don't think you can go far wrong..
Certainly a well-equipped bike; pretty incredible for the money.

The lines on this bike are superb. Great looking motorcycle.
So now we like the black ? Sat on one of these last week in Scarborough....very nice !
I think that R.E. designed the Shotgun with the US market in mind. It is the bike that Harley should have made......
It's like an old style flat tracker I thought.
Good morning Stu. Have you been eating Haribo. lol. Good video. I look forward to the reviews on this bike. I liked the concept bike when it was first shown a couple of years ago at the NEC but I think the bike has been improved since then.

Hahaha nice intro, I was waiting for this review ❤🎉
That has to be the best looking RE to-date (to my eyes), although I do really like the Hunter 350. Love the intro! 😂
I saw the similarity with the Bullet too! But the funny thing is RE is currently also testing 650 versions of the Classic and Bullet 😅
Can’t wait to watch your full review!
Only criticism is the location of the usb socket perhaps should be handlebar mounted no need for a long cable for on the go riding.
Always worth my time, thank you sir. Cheers. Loved the weird intro. Keep em coming
LOL! Nice intro once I double checked my settings!! Like I’ve always said, “never grow up”! 😂 Very much looking for more on this motorcycle. 😎
Gotta say, I love your Shotgun Black to the other colourways. I reckon I'll pop it on my shopping list.
Do you think this could effectively replace an interceptor as a daily driver during summer?
What are your thoughts about it’s touring potential?
Brilliant Intro. Thanks for my early morning laugh.

Raining for a change eh Stewart 🤦🏻. Lovely bike. My biggest problem would be which one to choose, 350 or 650, Hunter or Meteor and now Shotgun and what colour? It’s all too much.
Best RE yet!
Cracking looking bike.
Really enjoyed that. Especially the bits about RE heritage
Rear mud guard should be lowered tight to the tyre, create a bigger gap between rear wheel and seat. Then you have a budget triumph bobber.
I heard about the Bullet similarity by some of the guys in India when it debuted. Also it maybe the Classic 650 with the same mentality in the 350 line up same basic architecture.
Just minor differences to make a different experience as per model.
Can’t wait for the Classic 650 .
Shotgun 650. The only thing I’d change is to fit the drive belt kit (instead of the final drive chain). Nice bike 😀👍
I've only used my toolkit on my Meteor twice to tighten the mirrors which would get loose sometimes.
Our Stuart's been on the Haribo!
I thought the video was playing the wrong speed. Lol. I would rather have the Shotgun than the Super Meteor I think. But the USB port would be better on the bars like the Hunter.
Can’t wait for the test ride , prices , pros and cons, fancy one of these
🤣Excellent intro! made me choke on my cornflakes!
Always like your post Stuart Can't say blacked out bikes do anything for me.
And running on helium certainly is not advisable 😂
Safe riding mate
Lee
"I'll get me coat" 😂.
I like it when you do a piece to camera Uncle Stu - even better when it's like this 😂
Waterwheel powered!! Don't give the government lackies more eco ideas Stu.
If you remove the handles from the rack. A smart cookie should design a pannier rack that utilise those mounting points.
You had me for a few minutes with the beginning 😆 Excellent video as usual , the more I see of these Royal Enfields the more I fancy one. This Shotgun 650 certainly seems to fit the bill 👍🙂🚴
And then, at 1:40, I felt comfortable again.
Intro!, I'm like , wtf , that killed me, I choked on my coffee at the "makes the world go round" brilliant.
Damn this full blacked out trim does wonders for the bike
This is a very nice looking motorcycle. When I look at it, I find myself staring at it. I can't find anything that isn't very appealing. It's pure machine. It's speaking to me, get on and we can become good friends...Lovely bike.
I wasn't expecting that reedy tenor voice! I'm glad I'd already swallowed my mouthful of coffee before he spoke 😅
That rack under the back seat is fantastic.
It looks great but I've got a super meteor and before that I had the GT continental. My wife will hit the roof if I get a new bike.
