Going from my trusty X to the 14Pro is going to be a colossal upgrade! Longest I've ever held off upgrading a phone by far - just speaks volumes of how much of an absolute monster the X was!
I think it's still a downgrade since iphone Xs is the last one with 3d touch. And iPhone Xs gets most of the AI features from iOS 16, so it's still top of the line.
I’m doing exactly that, I’m on the X and just ordered 14 pro max I want the best I can get and keep it as long as I can, last year I was really debating on the 13 pro but mow I’m glad I waited, I feel that the jump will be huge for me, especially with the cameras
I have had my XS Max since launch and I’m upgrading. Nothing “wrong” with my phone but I need more storage and I want that bump in battery life with the 14 Pro Max (keep in mind I the XS Max was my first iPhone and it had the best battery I ever had). I probably won’t upgrade from the 14 Pro Max until the iPhone 20.
I have an iPhone 8 Plus for 5-6 years (still in perfect condition) and im upgrading to the iPhone 14 pro max in a month. Going to miss the little home button, but excited for the new change!
@arell I just went 8 plus to 14 pro. Not much time with it, but initial impressions are good. Went for regular pro over max simply for ease of use, but the battery of a Max definitely had me tempted.
I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max space gray 256gb and I’m satisfied. It does what I need, the battery healths at 87% and lasts a full day of moderate use. Camera is great to me. Screen size is more than enough and the big notch doesn’t bother me. No scratches on the screen or housing. It’s good enough, so I’m not upgrading until it gives me a reason to.
Will be going from my XS Max to the 14 Pro Max. Feels like it's going to be a massive upgrade. What I guess I'd love the most is the battery life followed by the newer design, the display, the cameras and of course the MagSafe. I saw a different video where they said the iPhone 14 Pro Max charges faster than previous models with 27W.
I've been using XS since its release and I'm loving it, I just upgraded to 14 pro. the battery health of my XS has fallen to 78% over the past 4 years, so I though it is time to jump to a newer tech. but my XS did not disappoint at all during the time of its duty.
My XS Max is at 78% its been good other than battery life its not very good (5 hours at most of light use as of right now) i have to plug it in a couple times to make sure i have enough which is pretty inconvenient so ill probably get a 13 or newer
My XS Max is around 89% battery health and I still love it. Honestly not sure I would benefit much from an upgrade but the new cameras and chip are tempting.
@@SamZ nice yeah if the battery and performance arent an issue for you its probably not worth the upgrade but i feel that its not worth replacing the battery now that its 4 years old (for me) might as well upgrade anyways since that saves me money in the long run
I switched to an xs max from the old se and it was a huge and very nice difference and I kept it for a few years but now have a 13 and I love it it’s perfect
Really useful video, been crying out for this. Most reviewers only ever compare to the previous years model but most people upgrading are coming from an older model than that so this is great info. Cheers!
I like how you understand a lot of people upgrading don’t have the 13 and how so much has changed since the older models. I have an XS Max and I’m finally deciding to upgrade. Was waiting on them to really change that notch and the other upgrades make it so worth it
I also have a XS Max its fine and I wouldnt be upgrading if it werent for the poor battery life (only 4 hours of LIGHT use on one charge at most) Its a waste of money to upgrade the battery since an upgrade is due anyways
I have a iPhone XR so mine is very Old and is the cheap version of the X. I’m buying a 14 pro max in about 2 weeks. And I can’t wait. From what people have been writing about their upgrades from the X and XS I’m sure mine is going to be absolutely fantastic.
This is exactly the info I needed, when I needed it. I’m coming from an iPhone X so I wasn’t sure about getting the 13 or 14, but with carrier credits, I’m going to the 14. My husband has an 8 so this is going to be a huge upgrade for him. Thanks for this info, clearly laying out the differences and making my decision easier.
Still on the XS Max since I haven’t had a reason to upgrade, personally. My phone is pretty much entirely used for calling, messaging, MS Office/conferencing, and away-from-view media consumption, and pictures while out and about. Battery still gets me through a whole day, don’t have any apps crash, I’m happy with how the pictures look.
This video is awesome, not only because of the information and comparisons, but also for doing it all in such a short time by making it really dynamic and going straight to the key points. 10/10
Hi Daniel, I am upgrading to 14 Pro from 11 Pro for more reasons: performance, ProMotion display, cameras and battery life. I really like this 3 years upgrade cycle as I can ‘feel’ a massive leap for many features and parameters. Thanks for the video!
going from the base 11 to the 14 pro!! especially since i’m changing from 64GB to 512GB it’s gonna feel like a HUGE change, especially since i love recording at concerts and the camera difference will mean a lot to me then
im using the XS rn and as much as i like this phone to this day (works perfectly except battery life) my urge for having the 14 pro keeps getting bigger the more related videos i watch but its too expensive in a way lmao
I have an 11 Pro. Still is fast, has plenty of battery life, and takes excellent pictures and video. I’ll keep it until it can no longer be updated. I’ll start looking at the 15 and likely change at the 16.
If you have a 11, DONT UPGRADE. It’s not worth it. The power and worth of the iPhone 11 makes it hard to justify getting a 14 unless ur having storage problems. I have a 128gb iPhone 11 and it runs perfectly. Looks amazing too
@@Bumbumbr-zu5gc yeah I have friends with 64gbs phones who was living in hell with it. That’s not me fortunately. I got a 128gb and I’m not even halfway yet.
@@fresco_dinero5155 yea it was hell, having to delete so many pictures and music on my phone, I even had to buy storage. But I got the iPhone 14 pro with 512 GB,but now I just store pictures on my iPad. But yea my iPhone 11 barely would work because of the storage
I'm looking to upgrade from an 11 Pro to a 14 Pro. not a 'must have', but I am ready for the updated tech. I do photography on the side and I'm anxious to try the new 48MP lens and see what can be done with it, regarding prints, canvas, etc. Thanks for another great, and thorough, review!!🤘🏼
I upgraded from the iPhone SE (2020) to the iPhone 14 Pro and I gotta say it was definitely worth it! I love the OLED and 120 Hz screen. The screen just looks so beautiful especially in dark mode, and the animation is so smooth. Also, Face ID is so much more convenient to use than Touch ID. I was also not a fan of the original notch design and the new dynamic island looks so much more cleaner. Lastly the battery life is just freaking awesome. If you have the iPhone SE model or iPhone 8 and before, I would definitely go for the upgrade!
Thank you for your comment! I'm also coming from an iPhone SE 2020 (and before this I own the SE 1) and I can't wait for my iphone 14 pro Max 😍 the delivery time is loooong so it didn't arrive yet but now I'm sure I made the right decision
I’ve just upgraded from a 12 Pro Max to a 14 Pro Max and it’s honestly been one of the most underwhelming phone upgrades. This isnt to say the 14 Pro Max is a bad phone - it’s that phones in the past few years have got to a point where they’re all amazing and no u[grades will really change your life now. It’s nicer to have a slightly better camera etc, but the cameras on the 12 Pro Max for example, were amazing anyway. If you have a spare £1000 then yeah, do it. But like most people, if you don’t have that spare money then don’t do it. Save your upgrade and put your heating on.
I actually upgraded from my 4 year old Android (which broke) to the 13 Mini, I felt like the difference between the standard 13s and 14s is too minimal to care about, and the 13 is cheaper, so why not. Plus I’m in love with the Mini size!
Recently upgraded 7 plus to 11. Even though the latter is kind of 'old' in terms of how many new iphones there are, I absolutely love it. Fast and worth the money
I have the 8 plus 256 GB and picking up my 14 pro max 512 GB today. Was waiting for a long time to get some major upgrades and the only thing I was hoping for and not getting in this release is the usb type c. Other than that seems alright. Didn’t think waiting for 15 made more sense at this stage, needed the camera upgrade. Thank you for making informative and concise (focused) videos for U.K. apple users.
Going from 64 gb to 256 gb. Shocked that you used that much storage and need 512 gb, lol. Unless you’re a photographer. But I would use an external hard drive at that point.
Thanks for the very useful video. Wife and I each have an XS MAX. If we upgraded we'd get the PRO MAX. That said, we don't plan to upgrade until they give us a USB C port to replace the lightening port. We plan to keep the phone for at least 4 or 5 years and don't want to be stuck on lightning all that time.
The way I think of it and my needs in terms of if I should upgrade to an iPhone 14: If you have an iPhone 13 or 13 pro, not really necessary to upgrade 12 or 12 pro, it’s a little more viable to think about an upgrade 11 or 11 pro, I wouldn’t mind hanging back just one more year, but the differences here begin to become substantial From XS or earlier: should definitely upgrade at that point But for me, I still have my iPhone 13 Pro Max 256GB with 99% battery capacity left and I don’t want to upgrade this year Again it heavily depends on how you use an iPhone. If you simply just want smooth texting, emailing, web browsing, and calling, even the iPhone 8 being the oldest remaining supported iOS device as of iOS 16, you will have no hiccups. It’s just a matter of longevity at that point
@@croydondebruyne9849 I must admit I can’t be the greatest person to get advice of this from. But I will tell you this, when considering a switch to the latest iPhone, you may be giving up a lot of android specific features and perks. Though if you believe iPhone specific features are that appealing then I believe you’d be satisfied to switch. I guess it depends on what your current device is. Is it old? Or is it still pretty new?
I upgraded from the regular XS to the 14 pro max and it’s such a big difference. Size, battery life, camera (I couldn’t take night shots before), etc. It is a massive upgrade
Coming from a iPhone 11 to the 14 Pro I definitely consider it a upgrade, I normally don’t update phones but this one definitely feel like the iPhone that’s going to be hard to depart from unless USB C charging but still the 14Pro is definitely worth it. BTW this my first pro model and the battery life is phenomenal.
The 15 will use the usb c cuz the government is makin em Too bad for us I just upgraded as well but oh well I’m coming from an 11 that needed a battery and screen replacement and processor as well lmao att gave me 300 for it so F it
I'm the opposite. I have a 12 Pro and am sure I can get at least 2 more years out of it before it's worth bothering to upgrade. I'll probably do a battery swap next fall to keep it going.
@@HVDynamo me too and my phone will finally be paid off next month so I don’t wanna upgrade anytime soon because my phone bill is about to be super cheap
Sticking with my 11 pro max until we get USB C charging next year (fingers crossed for the 15 pro max!), and I’ll probably wait until 2024/25 to buy it used. Improvements on the 14 pro max are good, but not over £1000 worth compared to what I’ve got…
Probably the most detailed video showing the progression of the iPhone! Both my wife and I have the iPhone X and I bought her and myself the iPhone 14 Pro for Christmas. I can't wait to open the box!
Still rocking the x with iPad mini 4 on the side for bigger screen usage, perhaps in two years gonna get iPhone 13 pro max from after market or perhaps iPhone 14 pro max
Going from the 8 plus with a broken home button to the 14 pro is going to be a huge upgrade! So I'm really excited to finally experience all the new stuff.
I have iPhone X, so I will definitely going to buy the iPhone 14 pro max. The reasons: 1. pro motion 2. dynamic island 3. always on display 4. bigger screen 5. improvement in the battery life. 6. better perfomace 7. New camera and improvement of the camera over the years since iPhone x 8. the iPhone 14 pro max is the only chamge with the notch.... ( even if the iPhone 13 has a smaller notch) 9. my iPhone X has begun to make me problems. 10. is it a perfect time to upgrade! iPhone 14 pro max is like the iPhone of my dreams!!!
you will loose 3D touch they replaced it with haptic touch since the 11 series I will keep my X another few years it is still great, battery replacement and done But I can see your decision, many upgrades it is worth it
The display, battery, and camera was the biggest things I loved about the 13PM coming from an iPhone X so you definitely won’t be disappointed with the 14PM just be prepared for the increased weight because it’s pretty big
I’m upgrading from the iPhone 12 PM to the iPhone 14 Pro 6.1”. The PM phones are nice but way too big for everyday use. I rather use a smaller more practical phone everyday.
I went from a XS Max to 12Pro and at first I thought I’d hate it, but I can’t imagine a bigger phone again. The PM hardly fit in my pockets and typing was annoying for smaller hands. You’ll love it!
@@boopCN for me it’s definitely not exhausting to hold it’s not at that point. But yeah it is heavier. And it can be interpreted in 2 different ways; It could be a cool thing, the weight makes it feel more premium in the hands It could be bad, it weighs down pants pockets
I just bought 13 pro max after the 14 series came out not like the dynamic island and I also don't need 48mp camera and also I was first android user it was pretty amazing.
It feels so weird, bcz that was exactly what i was about to comment, i bought it like 2 months ago, sh i want to mention, but it just perfect, i have no problem with the battery being at 94%. So imo if u don't have enough money, better go with the 13PM rather than 14 Pro or even Max
I'm thinking between grabbing a used 11 Pro or a 12. I like the 12 for a fact that it can do Face ID with mask. But I like the 11 Pro since it is smaller, and has another camera module. Be it as decent and also as fast as 12, and the battery is still competitive. Edit: I am still using 6s, so even an upgrade to Xs is a big leap.
Don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve got an iPhone 11 and even though I use the cameras frequently and I appreciate the 120Hz refresh rate, it’s still hard for me to justify spending over $1200CAD for a new phone, assuming I sell mine for about $500CAD. The new models are very nice and I would normally probably upgrade, but given I’ve spent money upgrading to the M1 11” iPad Pro and M1 MacBook Air last year I just cannot justify buying such an expensive phone when the 11 more than gets my needs met. Maybe next year though!
@@cadenchurchill4296 the 5G is a nice upgrade too with the better battery and slightly bigger screen with better cameras again. I definitely noticed the more premium from the 11 pro to the 13 pro I have now! IMO anything below the 12 isn’t worth it because they don’t have 5G.
@@TheNickers69 Fair enough! I wouldn’t use the 5G personally, but I do love the camera improvements! Still probably going to upgrade next year though since the 11 is still so good.
Yeah, the iPhone 11 is great. My iPhone XR though… oml. I bought it refurbished, it was damaged partially so it never felt new. It overheats ALL the time. It has a crack in it from when I dropped it recently after many years. It is incredibly slow (I heard 5g should help, I have LTE on my iPhone). And I am not a fan of the design in comparison to the more square design. Usually I would keep my phone, but my hands are burning up from the extreme heat (as I’m typing right now especially, I’m holding my phone uncomfortably to avoid burning) and, without use, my phone is dead after work. I’m going insane. So this purchase… it’s for my sanity. Edit: My phone -> My iPhone XR (basically, I specified what phone I use)
I’m currently in two minds abt upgrading to 14 pro. My XS is still working perfectly, but it has a completely shattered screen (been like that for more than a year so it doesn’t really bother me at this point). Also battery life has decreases A LOT in the past year. I was going to 100% upgrade this year until I saw the european prices for 14 pro…
I love my 11 pro. I wasn't going to upgrade, but I'm smitten with that new animated cutout. My battery significantly declined when I upgraded to ios16 (gave up waiting on a jailbreak after a year at 15.0.1) so I'll be getting the 14 pro.
@@robbrobb325 A tip I learned years ago is to not charge your phone to 100% if you can avoid it and never over night. When it gets down to 20-30% charge to 80% on a regular basis. On occasion I'll charge mine to 100% if I'm going to be out for an extended amount of time. Still have my battery at 100% health on my Pro 11 that I got near launch.
iPhone XR > 14 Pro. 4 years of fantastic service to be honest. Slated by many for its poor specs but actually a very underrated iPhone in my view. Long outlived the XS and not even featured here in your video!
I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the reason why I’m thinking about upgrading is mainly because of the battery. Battery life on the 12 Pro Max is really poor based on my needs.
I currently have the iPhone 11 base model I plan to upgrade to the 14 promax 1 TB deep purple part of the reason being 1/3 of my screen on the 11 completely stopped working but obviously the camera bonus the new screen the new battery it’s gonna be worth the upgrade from the 11
I have an XR which i got 2- 3 years ago, it still works great but after seeing my friend's 14 pro i decided to upgrade, it felt so much better in the 120hz display and the camera features, the new dynamic island, and alot more. im waiting for my local store to get them
I’ve got the 13 pro max. I don’t like the size but not switching yet. Hopefully 15 sees the return of the Mini and has Pro motion as it is one of my most wanted features. That combined with USB C and dynamic island, I would definitely switch for that.
I spent $1500 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max this last March, so I'm not upgrading anytime soon; perhaps in a few years I'll consider it, maybe when the iPhone 16 comes along. I also have the Sierra Blue color, and the lack of any blue color option for the 14 Pro (Max) is disappointing to say the least. If Apple releases a blue color later on (in a similar vein to the later release of the iPhone 13 series in Alpine Green), that would be interesting. As long as Apple does not offer the 14 Pro (Max) in any shade of blue, I would expect that the resale value of a 13PM in Sierra Blue would be more than the 13PM in other colors.
I upgraded to the standard IPhone 14 coming from the X and honestly I’m hugely satisfied all around….the only reason I didn’t get the pro was because the place I went to was sold out…but I look at it coming from the X I got the ‘13pro’ for the standard model price with extra features plus bigger screen better display the works lol I can’t complain…love the video very informative
Glad I’ve kept x for this long which is not bad at anything I’d need in the foreseeable future. Thinking of finally graduating to 14 pro. Missing a lot on better hdr & ultrawide. 3D touch is still👑 though.
I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max and planning to use it until it doesn't support software updates. Waiting for more camera zoom capabilities on future iPhones, and maybe they will bring back the round edges.
11:12 I am upgrading from an iPhone 11 Pro to the new iPhone 14 pro max version this year because I wanted a bigger screen to game on, now I am one to keep the phone until it is not functioning anymore and I am supposing that when my 14 pro max no longer accepts updates from the latest iOS and be best off upgrading the latest iPhone, I am sure I won’t get a 61% multi core improvement and 42% single core. I think iPhones are so advanced. But also I don’t have at my disposal the knowledge to how advanced technology will be in say 10 years or however long the iPhone 14 would last before being outdated.
I have the 13 pro max, I feel like that's the perfect sweet spot to stick with for the next year or two (heck maybe even 3) needless to say i love this model!
Personally, coming from an iPhone 12 Pro, I think that the battery upgrade is worth it. I’ll be getting the iPhone 14 Pro Max which should be an extreme upgrade for me in that department. Also, does anyone have any tips on preserving the life of your battery? Mine is already at 85%…
pretty sure the health indicator is nonsense but basic tips which have helped me in the past with previous phones, gadgets etc is keeping the battery away from extreme temps.. especially getting too hot. heat f*ks batteries! frequent but often charging.. keeping it within 20-80% range when/where possible. I don't keep it plugged in overnight (jury is still out on that one) but my 11promax battery is still really capable 3 years later (97% if you buy into apple's battery fudge indicator) and ultimately.... charge cycles! mmfraid there's nothing you can do to avoid that one, the more cycles you go through, the more it wears, the less it's able to hold it together. come to think of it, it's a little like old age.. inevitable! so in the end.. who cares?! grow old gracefully and use/enjoy that damn phone you worked hard for or don't.. who cares.. live and let live!
@@samiosmith thanks for the tips! I’m always on the phone because of my job so my battery is constantly fluctuating. I’m hoping to make this phone last 4 years at least lol
Just got a XR as I needed something for work that wasn't too old and had support for a little while, and so far I'm loving it. Coming from someone who has used Android exclusively
I’m kinda regret to go for 14 pro from 12 pro, but I’ve ordered already. Should I wait a little bit longer. But all these upgrades are huge to lose and go without... last time I was going from 7 to 12 pro, hands down, super satisfied with the upgrade. But now I’m totally indecisive of what’s going on. What do you think about it?
If you want a 1k dollar hole in your pocket, sure. Otherwise I’d suggest to wait another year for the 15 when apple HAS to drop the lightning connector for usb C. 12 pro is amazing already. I doubt you’ll get much value from 14. But that’s just me. You do you.
Amazing video, very informative. Everyone else has reviews of the 14 series but you made a video that takes a look at a good range of older models to help people decide whether to upgrade. You compared all the relevant topics: color, screen size, body design, cameras, software, video capability, hardware/performance difference, battery, etc. Currently I’m upgrading from a Xs to a 14 Pro Max. I’ve been watching your videos for a while, but this one made me actually hit the Subscribe button. Please, more content like this! 👍👍
i have the iPhone 8 for 5 years already (since 2017). I love my phone my home button, the camera was the best at that time, now with the iPhone 14 it probably isn't all that. The battery health is at 50%. I have to charge it at least 2-3 times a day. I'm thinking of upgrading to iPhone 13 or 13 Pro. But I don't know if i should wait for next years iPhone 15 to see if the price for the 14 goes down a bit
In fact, if waiting for 15 is not an issue, i would recommend to do it, it will probably have USB-C charging connector instead of Lightning. But if battery is a blocking issue, 13/13 Pro should be a good call
Upgrading is a fantastic idea! I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB and I’ve been using it for 10 hours straight, and it’s currently at 48%. It has been quite amazing so far
U monks shed an aweful light on the iphone x gang. Wait till something revolutionary comes like usbc. Thats why we also got the iphone x instead of the iphone8 cause we wanted to have smth revolutionary that would last for at least 5 years till the next gen comes out in 2023
Had the 13 mini but went back to the 11 pro for a better battery and must say I’m truly satisfied. Unless a major upgrade occurs next year I’ll hold on to my 11 pro as long as I can with the 13 mini as a back up💪🏾
I have 11 pro max . Love this thing and it hasn’t given any issues for 3 years. I was going to upgrade but I’ll wait for next year cuz of the usb type C
I got a 12 with 256gb storage and 91% battery health. esim is not supported by the operators in my country at this time, it may happen within a year though. I think at this point I may just wait for the 15, by then it may have usbc and my local operators may support esim. This was a nice video, really good information.
On an XS Max. Battery is down to 80% which is where it starts feeling janky beyond what the number says, I'd get it replaced but FaceID also broke a while ago so I'll just upgrade, but I want to hold out till next year and get USB C and pray that it won't still use USB 2.0 signaling speeds...
I'm holding off for the 15 Pro, my non Pro 11 will service me for another year. The battery life is still good for my normal daily use even with 79% health, but if I'm using it allot, taking lots of photos like on a holiday or road trip then it suffers and needs a boost during the day. I just can't justify the 14 Pro at this point when we are expecting USB-C in 12 months on the 15!
IKR! I have the XR and I know that it will be a good upgrade but still I was disappointed that it was not included in this video. apart of that I enjoyed the video.
I have an 11 Pro Max and I have been looking for a video comparing my current phone to the new iPhone 14 Pro Max and I think I finally found it with this one. I need to see one in person but I’m leaning towards it, mainly b/c it would be nice to have more storage.
One of the things I like most about my iPhone X (besides 3D Touch) is the size and weight. While I’d love to upgrade, the larger phones just don’t feel comfortable in my hand and I don’t want to go as small as the minis. I wish Apple would make a phone that size again.
Because of the design change, the different in size between the iPhone X and the iPhone 14 pro is minimal, we re talking millimetres, 0,6 mm wider and 3,9 taller. It's such a minimal difference that its not that noticeable.
Upgraded from the iPhone 11 64g to the iPhone 14 pro 256g. The video quality the and the photo quality are absolutely amazing on the 14 pro. We used to take nice photos of our granddaughter with the 11. Now we take stunning almost professional photos of her. In fact I learn something new everyday on how fantastic the iPhone 14 pro is.
My Wife, amazingly, went from the 4S to the 12 Mini. That 4S just kept going and going. I held off, then moved from an Android phone to a 13 Mini in Product Red. I've been so impressed by my 13 Mini, that I probably will not change it for many more years. If I smashed it tomorrow, I would simply buy another 13 Mini. It's such a great compact size with all the power of a larger phone. The battery has also been fine. If the 14 had been a significant change, such as no camera bump, slightly thicker with a bigger battery, I would upgrade to the 14. With such minimal changes, I have no real incentive to upgrade. Also, I personally think the 13 Product Red is the best color of all. My second choice is the classic White/Silver. I'm not a fan of the deep purple. I also never liked the 13 green that came out. Gold is very nice. Sierra Blue is ok, but in the Pro range, it has to be White. In the Mini range, definitely the Red.
i went from xs max gold to 14 pro max gold. honestly back in 2018 i never thought it could get any better then my xs max but then there was 14 pro and its an incredible upgrade
Thinking about going from my XS Max to either the 13 Pro or 14 Pro Max. I'm hesitating because, I'm not crazy about the colors offered for the 14 lol! I like the green that comes in the 13 series... If Apple would make the camera flush with the phone, I'd upgrade in a heartbeat! I hate the look of the camera bump, but wishful thinking I suppose since "thin" is what's in.
11 pro is a nice size, nice rounded edge that is comfortable to hold. I have the 11 pro and the 13 mini and the 11 pro is much nicer to hold despite bigger size.
@@abcd-hw8io Even though I’m upgrading from the XS Max, I will admit it’s comfortable to hold despite its size. I held the 12 or 13 pro cant remember, but it wasn’t comfortable to hold. Hope a case will help mitigate that🤞🏾
I’ve got the 8 plus and was about to upgrade to the 14 pro max but the pill/island totally put me off. The front facing camera should be getting smaller or hidden, not being used as a new feature. They must think we are stupid
Exactly my plan, I love my X but I’m constrained by memory and battery, and I feel less enthusiastic shooting videos or taking pics, I could wait another year no problem, maybe even more but I feel I will get so much from the new system
Hi Daniel, really enjoy your videos, you’re super thorough and professional. I’m upgrading from the 11 Pro Max to the 14 Pro Max, arriving in a few hours 😁 very excited. Be well!
Coming from the Iphone 6s Plus. Upgrading to the Iphone 14 pro is a huge upgrade not only software wise but also the durability and aesthetics of the phone! I'm glad I finally took the leap to upgrade haha!
2:54 eh, max manual brightness is 1000 nits. It only peaks at 2000 in direct sunlight with automatic brightness on. Just something worth noting. They don’t let people manually do 2000 due to heating issues and because you will get burn in at some point regularly using it.
Very cool video. Using an iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 15. Probably will upgrade next year. Would be cool to see a 12 model comparing iOS 15 vs 16 in speed and battery.
Hi Daniel, thanks for the great content as always. I’m still using my X and thinking of upgrading to the 14 Pro or maybe the 13 Pro. Which one would you recommend? I like all the extras the 14 Pro has but I’m very money concussion lol. Would it be worth it to just spend the little bit extra and get the 14 Pro? Going on a contract basis. Thanks
Been rocking the XR since its release and lemme tell you, the battery and slow downs are real. Plan to buy the usb-c iphone 15 in september and cant wait for that upgrade
Thank you very much for this thorough comparison. This video is super helpful for decision-making. Especially when seeing 14 is not quite an upgrade from earlier models. Planning to get pro/pro max now
Going from my 11 and getting the 14 pro. I think the oled promotion display, thinner bezzel, 5G, 48mp sensor, cinematic mode, action mode, aod, dynamic island will be enough to justify my upgrade 😁
IPHONE 11 pro still a powerful device. Until and unless you are a professional vlogger or photograher etc, i dont see a need to upgrade and burn the cash. It all depends on your needs. The marketing skills of apple forces people to purchase the newly launched iphones 🤣
I’m coming from a 12 pro. I’ve had numerous issues with my 12 pro so they offered me an awesome deal to upgrade to 14 pro and I’m taking it. The 12 pro is the only one I’ve had so much problems with.

I think if you’re coming from XS or X then yes the upgrade is worth. Get the pro models if you want a big upgrade
I think it's still a downgrade since iphone Xs is the last one with 3d touch. And iPhone Xs gets most of the AI features from iOS 16, so it's still top of the line.
I still love my XS max and I never felt like to upgrade
If there is nothing wrong with your phone, there is no reason to upgrade.

You've convinced me to update from my 8s to an 11 Pro. It sounds like it's a decent upgrade without getting to exxy.

How was the upgrade? I have a xs max thats clicking around like crazy. Really cant decide between 12, 13, 14 pro max. 14 is pricey but seems nice

I also have a XS Max its fine and I wouldnt be upgrading if it werent for the poor battery life (only 4 hours of LIGHT use on one charge at most)
Its a waste of money to upgrade the battery since an upgrade is due anyways
I have a iPhone XR so mine is very Old and is the cheap version of the X. I’m buying a 14 pro max in about 2 weeks. And I can’t wait. From what people have been writing about their upgrades from the X and XS I’m sure mine is going to be absolutely fantastic.

So true
The way I think of it and my needs in terms of if I should upgrade to an iPhone 14:
If you have an iPhone 13 or 13 pro, not really necessary to upgrade
12 or 12 pro, it’s a little more viable to think about an upgrade
11 or 11 pro, I wouldn’t mind hanging back just one more year, but the differences here begin to become substantial
From XS or earlier: should definitely upgrade at that point
But for me, I still have my iPhone 13 Pro Max 256GB with 99% battery capacity left and I don’t want to upgrade this year
Again it heavily depends on how you use an iPhone. If you simply just want smooth texting, emailing, web browsing, and calling, even the iPhone 8 being the oldest remaining supported iOS device as of iOS 16, you will have no hiccups. It’s just a matter of longevity at that point

Still holding on to mine as it is flawless, even after 4 years. Also: in Europe the 14 pro is terribly expensive because of the inflation.
Hi, are you interested in selling your old iPhone
I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the reason why I’m thinking about upgrading is mainly because of the battery.
Battery life on the 12 Pro Max is really poor based on my needs.
I currently have the iPhone 11 base model I plan to upgrade to the 14 promax 1 TB deep purple part of the reason being 1/3 of my screen on the 11 completely stopped working but obviously the camera bonus the new screen the new battery it’s gonna be worth the upgrade from the 11

But also I don’t have at my disposal the knowledge to how advanced technology will be in say 10 years or however long the iPhone 14 would last before being outdated.

pretty sure the health indicator is nonsense but basic tips which have helped me in the past with previous phones, gadgets etc is keeping the battery away from extreme temps.. especially getting too hot. heat f*ks batteries! frequent but often charging.. keeping it within 20-80% range when/where possible.
@@ResplendentRaider haha now you’re who I strive to be like 👍🏾 good job on keeping that XS Max in good shape.
@@samiosmith thanks for the tips! I’m always on the phone because of my job so my battery is constantly fluctuating. I’m hoping to make this phone last 4 years at least lol
Hi, are you interested in selling your old iPhones
The 11 pro max was a perfect phone and now is still a very solid pick. Especially if you like the rounded sides.
Upgraded from XS to 13 two weeks ago and not regretting it
Just got a XR as I needed something for work that wasn't too old and had support for a little while, and so far I'm loving it. Coming from someone who has used Android exclusively
Thank you for helping me make my decision to go from my 11Pro to the 14Pro. I will miss the lovely green though.
You do you.
Dynamic island is what ur getting for 1k
But I don't know if i should wait for next years iPhone 15 to see if the price for the 14 goes down a bit
wait for 15 ofcourse
@@NeverSettleForMediocrity No? Get 13
In fact, if waiting for 15 is not an issue, i would recommend to do it, it will probably have USB-C charging connector instead of Lightning. But if battery is a blocking issue, 13/13 Pro should be a good call
Go get the 13
As a Samsung fanboy, I need a lot of help on whether to continue my bloodline by getting the S23 5G, or to go wild and go with iPhone 14. Any help?
I'm using XS max and thinking it's the right time to upgrade to 14 pro, although my XS max still performs smooth.
Upgrading is a fantastic idea! I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB and I’ve been using it for 10 hours straight, and it’s currently at 48%. It has been quite amazing so far
After 5 years I'm finally upgrading from my iPhone X to the 14 Pro. Still going to miss 3D Touch a lot.
me too and totally agree
U monks shed an aweful light on the iphone x gang. Wait till something revolutionary comes like usbc. Thats why we also got the iphone x instead of the iphone8 cause we wanted to have smth revolutionary that would last for at least 5 years till the next gen comes out in 2023
I am currently using iPhone 11 and still having doubts on upgrading to 14 Pro because of some issues with the cameras and battery.
Had the 13 mini but went back to the 11 pro for a better battery and must say I’m truly satisfied. Unless a major upgrade occurs next year I’ll hold on to my 11 pro as long as I can with the 13 mini as a back up💪🏾
it's Iphone, the only major upgrade is the price
Still currently very happy with my XS. Camera looks less ugly but sleek and fitting with the body. Also don’t need any of the more advanced features 👍
Good man terry. Iphone x gang represent. Dont give tim one more piece of bread till he gives us usbc
I upgraded from the XR… the difference so far has been incredible. I can’t wait to take this on a trip or two for photos
I have iPhone X and I am also gonna wait for 15 Pro.
What about the XR? I just bought the new 14 Pro, I hope for a big difference
IKR! I have the XR and I know that it will be a good upgrade but still I was disappointed that it was not included in this video. apart of that I enjoyed the video.
So far some people have iPhone XR some people go for the pro models
I have an 11 Pro Max and I have been looking for a video comparing my current phone to the new iPhone 14 Pro Max and I think I finally found it with this one. I need to see one in person but I’m leaning towards it, mainly b/c it would be nice to have more storage.
One of the things I like most about my iPhone X (besides 3D Touch) is the size and weight. While I’d love to upgrade, the larger phones just don’t feel comfortable in my hand and I don’t want to go as small as the minis. I wish Apple would make a phone that size again.
The regular Pro should be the perfect size for you then.
Yeah I really enjoy my 14 pro but I do wish they still had the 5.8" option
I also have an iPhone 11 and wasn’t sure it was worth the upgrade to a 14. I’ll definitely look into it now though.
Thinking of upgrading from 12 to 14pro. I can wait for 15pro with maybe usb-c but I have many lighting cable now lol
Great video. Very informative, yet simplistic. Appreciate the content you put out, Daniel 👌🏼
i went from xs max gold to 14 pro max gold. honestly back in 2018 i never thought it could get any better then my xs max but then there was 14 pro and its an incredible upgrade
Jesus loves you and wants you to come to him :D
Also I know this is 9 months later but I would go with the 14 pro or pro max
I have a 11 Pro and I’m finding it really hard to justify the upgrade… my main issue is that my battery is down to 83% so I might just replace that….
Yup a easy 30-40 bucks and you’re set.
Hope a case will help mitigate that🤞🏾
@@ResplendentRaider
I probably have to look for a rounded edge case in order to hold it comfortably.
Upgrading from 7+ to 14 pro! I can’t wait to see the improvements and the longer battery life
itll be crazy i went from a 7 to the twelve and i was amazed 7 to 14pro will be crazy
How big can you make the camera housing
Apple: Yes
I like how your screen says "Shalom" (שלום) in the background right as the video starts 😊 00:09
I have an iPhone 11 but waiting for the 15 pro now what is the thoughts on that
This video is exactly what I’ve been looking for, great job!! Will definitely be upgrading from my Xs!
I’m going from the X to the 14pro after ~5 years, hopefully it can also last me 5 years.
7 to 14 pro for me :)
Wow
@@sugargliderdude 6 years of use, that phone definitely has earned its retirement
Be well!
Return that crap piece and wait for usbc
I currently have a XS Max and my 14 pro max is on the way! 🥳🥳🥳 I’m super excited for all of the major change from over 4 years!!! 12:57
Did anyone notice that the iphone 11 was a paper 😂
Very cool video. Using an iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 15. Probably will upgrade next year. Would be cool to see a 12 model comparing iOS 15 vs 16 in speed and battery.
12 sucks
@@Shreyashtiwari07 the iPhone 12 lineup still holds well what are you talking about?
@@Shreyashtiwari07 a stupid comment
Hi Daniel, thanks for the great content as always. I’m still using my X and thinking of upgrading to the 14 Pro or maybe the 13 Pro. Which one would you recommend? I like all the extras the 14 Pro has but I’m very money concussion lol. Would it be worth it to just spend the little bit extra and get the 14 Pro? Going on a contract basis. Thanks
Been rocking the XR since its release and lemme tell you, the battery and slow downs are real. Plan to buy the usb-c iphone 15 in september and cant wait for that upgrade
Did you already use 14 and 14 pro for a year??
Thank you very much for this thorough comparison. This video is super helpful for decision-making. Especially when seeing 14 is not quite an upgrade from earlier models. Planning to get pro/pro max now
Wait one more year for usbc
Going from my 11 and getting the 14 pro. I think the oled promotion display, thinner bezzel, 5G, 48mp sensor, cinematic mode, action mode, aod, dynamic island will be enough to justify my upgrade 😁
I have the 11 Pro and was for certain going to upgrade to the 14 Pro but seeing some of these reviews has me now thinking otherwise 😅
IPHONE 11 pro still a powerful device.
Until and unless you are a professional vlogger or photograher etc, i dont see a need to upgrade and burn the cash.
It all depends on your needs. The marketing skills of apple forces people to purchase the newly launched iphones 🤣
I’m honestly keeping my 11 pro. If I want to upgrade I’ll do it in a while once the cheaper used ones hit Swappa lol
I’m keeping my 11pro but getting an Ultra watch!
@@meep3709 Awesome 👌👌
I was certain as well but not so sure now, I’ll just get my battery replaced instead.
I’m coming from a 12 pro. I’ve had numerous issues with my 12 pro so they offered me an awesome deal to upgrade to 14 pro and I’m taking it. The 12 pro is the only one I’ve had so much problems with.
i have the xr and i want to upgrade to the 15 when it comes out or the 14 pro
