My parents could never have kids and so I’m adopted. Having a healthy baby it’s such a blessing. As a teenager I got very sick and I have kidney disease which obviously my parents could’ve never known from my lack of family medical history. But that is so hard on families when they can’t have children or have a hard during pregnancy. You are such a warrior and your children must be very proud!! Thank you for adopting, there is so much stigma and snobbery around it but it’s such a beautiful thing to provide a child a home when their families cannot. Bless you ❤❤❤

@@noelle2624 first of all, i thought you were me 😭 second of all, they aren’t only just excited. its the fact they’re making decisions on someone else’s body before even telling them first. the fact they said “she’s had twins before, its probably fine” is insane. it doesn’t matter if they’re paying her or not, they’re treating her as if shes just a baby making robot who isn’t capable of saying no to them. she could easily say no to having twins and they’re just assuming she’ll be okay with it before even asking her first.

Some surrogates don't know this, and unethical people like Shane and Ryland like the surrogates who aren't educated well enough to know this. They seek desperate women. It's fucking gross what they're doing, and it's because of people like them that some countries have literally legally closed off surrogacy to Americans.

Shane and ryland are doing the same things the McHusbands did. One twin will be rylands biological child, one will be Shane’s biological child, the twins will share a mother. They have an egg donor, and eggs from that donor were fertilized by both Shane and Ryland. The eggs are then put into a surrogate mother who has zero biological relation to the children, she’s just carrying them. The twins will be biological half siblings, sharing a mother but with different fathers, however, they will also be gestational twins. They are hoping for twins, and nowadays it’s highly likely they will get those two twin boys, but there IS a chance that one or both may not make it. Thus why IVF/surrogacy etc often takes multiple rounds.
Wow. It would be safer then I think if she did one at a time but they want both right away I guess. Also why didn't they use the eggs of the surrogate I'm sure it would be better with her natural eggs in her but I guess she didn't look the way they wanted or not "pretty" enough to them 🙄
@@miac2382 Surrogates don't usually use their own eggs cause they're getting paid to carry a child, or children, for people who are unable to carry their own. Male couples will choose an egg donor and then usually a surrogate with a good success rate. Female couples will usually choose a sperm donor and then one of the women in the couple will carry the child. Hetero couples will usually take the egg from the female, have it fertilised by the males sperm and then it will be implanted into the surrogate. Basically a surrogates job is only the carrying of the child. If the surrogates own eggs are used then she could technically claim legal rights to the child so doing it this way can avoid that heartache for Male couples.
@@miac2382 The real reason why buyers are told to use someone elses eggs is so the mother has no right to the fetus. Historically, there have been cases where the buyer changes mind (eg, couple splits up) and want an abortion but surrogate says she will keep the child since it is her biological child. But if you have no genetical connection to the fetus, you have no legal rights to it.
As a mother - for a whole year now I could cry - it makes me furious for Shane to say "we don't NEED a breast pump, but I want to TRY it." Like dude, do NOT go buy a breast pump for shits and giggles. It must be nice to have $100 to throw away. Also, must be nice to have enough money to go through this surrogacy process at the multitude they're trying to. You're lucky to get one implantation and one baby. But they're acting like they just have endless money and endless women lining up to be surrogate mothers for them and if this implantation doesn't take then they'll just start over. Like, not everyone has that luxury.
The babies were just born and he immediately (within hours of the birth) posted both babies faces with their full names.
The women I know that have tried to have babies/ now are parents, would never talk or act like this. Most of them were too scared of miscarriages, and complications from the pregnancy, to even announce they were pregnant until the second trimester.
Men dont care about that stuff the way girls do.
They "kill" kids often when they touch themselves so i dont think the baby thing really clicks.
Waiting past the first trimester to announce the pregnancy is pretty standard practice bc miscarriages are so common, and they don’t want to announce a baby that may never come.

The fact that they don't know that it's not implantation shows they don't understand even the process. Embryos are transferred to the uterus, and the hope is they'll implant on their own. That implantation is pregnancy. I had a few rounds of IVF, and have been through it.

Ryland on his clogs and podcast is always acting like he’s so “exhausted and tired” from just taking care of all their animals and 2 houses worth millions dollars (one in Cali and the other in Colorado) and they want TWINS?!! 🙄🙄🙄 they are gonna be so overloaded with responsibility they have no idea (and I’m not even a parent of a human child. I’m only a fur momma of a cat 🐈 child free by choice)

I was adopted, and if I saw my parents sensationalizing me like this before they got me, I would feel so terrible and embarrassed. The way both of them treat this entire situation is genuinely disgusting. I originally didn't pay much attention to it but I started to see how they talk about their unborn child as something like a commodity (and just using this whole process for views, lets be honest) and it just gets worse with every video. I wouldn't trust either of them with a kid to be honest, they aren't mentally ready and are just "excited" for the wrong reasons

You’re right that this is SO much pressure on her and pretty insensitive to the possibility of miscarriage or other issues. They’re allowed to be excited but I think they should wait to talk with such certainty because anything could happen, especially in the early stages.

Just because you wouldn’t want this info out their if you were pregnant, doesn’t mean she cares the same way you do. Everyone is different.

They mentioned they would be sharing the whole process of surrogacy online and they made sure the surrogate and egg donor (two separate women) are both allowing them to share the process with their consent as you know, not many of us know how these things go and it is interesting! People can be excited for being able to have a child this way, queer couples don’t need to be limited to just adoption. This is literally just bc it’s Shane and Ryland that everyone has a problem with it! Don’t put down surrogacy, a lot of surrogates literally just adore bringing new life into the world for couples that can’t for themselves. (The tattoogate client for example was a surrogate and mentioned how much she adores living life that way)

They genuinely do not see their surrogate as a person, but as a tool to get whatever they want without any consideration for her, her safety, etc. it’s so gross. Not to mentions Shane’s past actions toward minors and wanting to have two kids right away. The whole process is uncomfortable to me

When rich couples get a surrogate, I always wonder if they are taking advantage of a woman living in poverty with no other way to make the money. I hope not, but a lot of them go to ukraine to find a surrogate, which is in a war and poverty is common.
You're totally right. Sure, she is volunteering to get pregnant, but twins (and now there's a possibility of quadruplets) is a very big ask. Pregnancy is not always smooth sailing. She could face serious health issues, be on bed rest early on, end up in hospital for so many reasons, etc. They just act like this woman isn't doing something for them that is also putting her own life at risk. They're not grateful at all. Like you said, they just see her as a tool.

I am a new gay dad who just had my first child through surrogacy and I have to say the way Shayne and Rylan are treating the process is so distasteful and distasteful.
These 2 clearly haven't come close to the maturity needed to raise a child and they have no idea how to treat the process by the looks of things.
They are treating the surrogate mother as just a womb which is a disgusting way to behave. When beginning the process of surrogacy there is a very important stage called the 'get to know' (gtk) stage where the surrogate and intended parents meet each other a good few times to see how you all get on together and so you all feel like this is the right group to come together to support each tother through all the ups and downs. The surrogate is a person who is going to be carrying your child for 9months! You can't just talk about them and their body and your intentions with it, especially without meeting them and asking them what they are comfortable with!
Everything is just about content with these 2 and I can't imagine the pressure the surrogate must be feeling from everything they expect from her before she is even implanted!!!
I love to see a surrogacy journey, especially a successful one as it truly is amazing, but Syane and Rylan are not doing this for the right reason, they are literally creating a child just for clout and money.
People are also saying these videos are great for documenting the process for other people wanting to do surrogacy.. I see it as the opposite. The way they are handling this is exactly how you don't treat surrogacy and some things should be kept private
Wonderful insight. I agree with your opinion on them, I also agree that the pressure they're putting on her, publicly, is something great. Like Adam said in the video, the way they continuously are PUSHING that twin idea, it's not coming off with the vibe that they would be so grateful for a kid, even if it were only 1. Although they eventually realize this and try to say they would be happy for anything lol. Well, actions speak louder than words; you can be excited but a MATURE person who is aware of possible disappointment or the potential hurt of others in your life just wouldn't make a public announcement of it... Before the surrogate is even implanted. It's not bad to be hopeful that's true of course, but coming off as so confident is only showing they believe it'll all go in their favor because they have the money. It also makes their announcement come off more as just searching for some views and attention because this was not even a sure thing yet.
I remember being pregnant and stressed about the nursery and so on. Then i learned its recommended that the first year is spent in the parents room (in a crib). So all that work to perfect a nursery that ended up being a glorified baby closet

I think for the first two weeks that we had our son home, he didn’t even sleep in his crib. He ended up sleeping in-between me and my husband. I was ok with it and I enjoyed the cuddles but his dad wanted him in the crib. 😅
I know a couple who spent years finding a surrogate and quite a few implantations that did not work out. I’m not hating, but I feel like they shouldn’t be doing all this extra stuff before there is a confirmed pregnancy. The couple I know got really down when they looked at the room and baby stuff they bought for a baby that just wasn’t coming. It really took a mental toll on them. I’m in no way a fan of Shane or Ryland, but I also don’t want them to get ahead of themselves and things not work out the way they expect it to, especially if Shane has a history of depression.

@@maddiemoopants And that’s great that they had a positive experience, but not everyone does. I’m not saying they can’t be happy and that it won’t necessarily be successful. All I’m saying is that it’s not 100% guaranteed at the stage they are currently at, even if everything goes right, and they are acting like it is a for sure thing. I don’t like seeing people get their hopes up and have it taken away from them. Surrogacy is great when it works, but it doesn’t always work and I worry for people who get over excited because I’ve seen the other side. If it works out for them, that’s great and I hope they have a positive experience. But if it doesn’t work out and they have all this stuff already pre-planned, it can make the situation even more heart crushing and I don’t wish that on anyone. I do see your point though, I guess we’ve just had different experiences with this kind of situation. But I’m glad it worked out for your family.
I'm thinking the same thing, but I also understand the excitement they're feeling. Lots of parents seem to go out and purchase a load of stuff before the baby has passed the 'safe' point or whatever, and buy heaps of stupid clothes and stuff they don't *need*. I always roll my eyes when I see it!
Ryland and Shane are so un-serious I can’t imagine how they act in real life. Like was Shane making his stupid ass faces in front of the doctor and acting so fucking clueless about the woman that will be carrying their baby?? I don’t understand why are they trying to have babieS, they want twins. When Ryland himself is always crying on his podcast about how he is overwhelmed by his animals and how much time he spends in the morning taking care of them and how he can’t rely on Shane to do it by himself without asking him to. HOW tf are you gonna bring a baby, even 2, in the house when you are loosing your sh** because you just had a puppy and the cat is pissing on a new expensive rug you bought because you can’t seem to know what you want as a decor in your house. Before I could have any children, I was tested (as was my husband) for infertility. Both and he and I were infertile. I was told I had to have IVF to become pregnant. The dr offered me my first cycle for "free" provided I lose enough weight by end of year. He said I would have either 1 or 2 embryos implanted, if they both took I would have twins or at the very least hopefully a baby. This was to avoid having a pregnancy (think OctoMom) that would be too big/ many babies and possibly need to have a selective termination. Anyway I got pregnant naturally 5 months after being told I had 1 in 10,000 chance of becoming pregnant. I ended up having 4 confirmed pregnancies in 5 years, with 3 living children. I had high risk pregnancies so hate to imagine what IVF would have done to me. Any extra stress on the surrogate should be discussed before this point in time
I was going through IVF at the time of Octomom, and there were so few people online willing to talk about going through IVF because those of us who did were on the receiving end of horrific abuse. It was scary having to go into hiding, and I wasn't even a TH-camr. I just had a blog.
How is that even legal for them to do it to people? Trying naturally first would have no physical consequences, IVF - a sh*tton of hormones to overproduce eggs 100% will have an effect, in some countries you cannot donate eggs if you haven't had a child. It's like a car salesman trying to get a lifetime customer, "first one's on me", what a sick f bastard
Adam I love your emphasis on what the surrogate must be having to go through or deal with as a mom of two, I am so impressed by your level of empathy as a young gay man because I cannot even tell you the amount of people who have no clue at all how mentally and physically taxing being pregnant truly is (including women and esp men) I appreciate you so much bringing very important questions to light for your audience to ponder as well. If you don’t have kids it can be hard to understand what a pregnant person goes through and you are so spot on with your commentary. It’s literally making my blood boil at how they are making it seem like the choices they are making are not a big deal for the surrogate even if they in reality they are at her beck and call since she is carrying their baby - they are missing out on a huge opportunity to educate others on this process in a real way. Their video seems like they are making light of this and I also fear that this is a family channel in the making. At the end of the day no matter how thoughtless they are being now, once their kids get here they will see how they are not in fact dolls but children they have to raise and take care of 24/7 🤷🏽♀️

That’s exactly the same vibe I got from this video. They’re only thinking about all the “fun” stuff (i.e, toys, clothes, decorating). They haven’t actually thought about the fundamentals; how they’re going to raise their children, what values they want to impart onto them, what the essentials are (baby food, diapers, bottles, etc). It’s extremely concerning.

I am scared for the kids. Not because of Shane and Adam... Or maybe a little bit because of them. Specially because of Shane. But what it scares me most is that if they share almost everything about this pregnancy online, they will share everything about the babies. Strangers will know all about them. So, so scary.
Shane said before to Ryland that he doesn't want to show the babys online like videos and ex. But we see how most TH-camrs say that and it quickly changes. So I really hope they don't use the kids as clicks and views for many reasons. Even tho I would love to see them, I definitely don't think it's a good idea for multiple reasons.

The thing I am afraid of is the way they are so spontaneous/impulsive with everything. In a couple of months, they got: A house in a new state, 1 cat, 1 dog, and multiple alpacas and now they want babies. They are already living in 2 different states, leaving more than half of the animals in Colorado ( I know they are taking care of... it's nice to have money to buy random shit and ask strangers to take care of it). It reminds me of the time Ryan wanted a horse and Morgan was like... what the fuck, why do you want a horse, you won't even take care of it (paraphrasing).
I feel like it's exactly what happening... they will get babies, maybe multiple and somebody else gonna have to help because they are asking for too much at the time. Attachment parenting is a parenting style with its own principles just like any other parenting style like authoritative or permissive parenting. Attachment parenting is what we chose to do as a family to foster close connection. I dont judge anyone else doing other styles but I do think shane and ryland are prioritizing material things above the parenting aspect of their new parenthood.

Twins are two fetuses that share a uterus at the same time, regardless of genetics. Separate uteri mean not twins, period. How much you wanna bet they'd demand scheduled c-sections for the same birthday?
You can't "implant" "two of the same embryo" since you doin't actually IMPLANT them (an embryo is transferred, and then it either implants on its own and that's pregnancy, or it doesn't), and there isn't "two of the same embryo." There is one of that embryo. The chance of an embryo splitting is very slight.
I'm not convinced they're using am above-board doctor and that they aren't going outside the US to find a doctor to get on board with their unethical bullshit.

I think they'll be shocked by how fast a baby grows out of clothes, tbh. They're buying a bunch of cute little outfits, but there's a reason why people will sometimes buy a size up for a baby so they can grow into it or wear it longer. I know there are tons of baby clothes at garage sales/yard sales that literally look as if they were only worn maybe once. Heck, when I was a baby, my mom bought some of my dresses from them.

Shane can afford the very best help to raise his help if he chose that. I think the most important questions to ask is who will be around to emotionally support the baby? Shane and Ryland agree on the fact that they want a baby and not much more thought seems to have gone into that. I have no problems with surrogacy, them having children and I don’t think they will be bad parents at all. I just hope that the children have more maturity that they seem to have. The cringe factor can be overwhelming with them at times.
I worry that their kids will serve as their emotional support. They already see babies as a gimmick, not as people.

Also carrying twins costs more, the signing bonus for twins can be $5,000+ for just that part, in addition to other increases in cost because she is now carrying twins. A surrogate costs anywhere from $85,000+ in the US.
The range in cost for twins can be from $95,000-$200,000 in most cases. It can exceed that cost just for the surrogate, so do your research, ask lots of questions and make sure you understand everything. You can never ask too many questions.
