So the fabric doesn't transfer or stain the skin of the doll. I don't know why but there are some parts of the clothes that will transfer and stain your doll really bad. Also helps to support the piece of clothe.

I had a feeling it had something to do with supporting clothing, but my worry was if one were to get another outfit to put on the doll which would allow the tape to be visible (example: getting a dress that allows the tape on the arms to be seen). I have also heard about bodysuits for these dolls that cover up the joints and reduce stains. Would that be the best route to go if someone wanted to eventually own multiple outfits for one doll?
