By the way an even better option is a bmw e90 330 booster. Better and more consistent brake feel and its smaller, doesnt require any modifications, it bolts in. Then use a 2002 fluid reservoir! You will need to bend your lines to meet up properly.
When S50 swappig we always used Vw Polo 86cc brakeboosters because they are small and fit right in place, some minor thing need to be done but its easy. But back the the m50 swap, i never relocated the brakebooster, we just filed off a bit of the intake finns on the throttlebody side so it would fit. Go to E30zone.net and you know what to do
I love this channel. I'm taking a long shot on a e30 build and swap. I'm hoping to swap parts in stages and keep the car on the road until the engine is bought and ready!
@@slightlyMADcustoms It's 1/2inch from the center. Completed the job yesterday. Measuring from the edge won't work, the bolt holes will be too far over to fit the booster.
Yaseen Gaffoor I have heard of people doing that, my concern was cost & stock brake feel. The ideal set up in my head was to have the proper braking just how BMW intended it, and the added bonus was my method was very cheap. The other issue for me would be sourcing a Renault brake booster as I’m in Canada, and we don’t see too many Renault’s around
Not sure if I’ll get a response but if I’m swapping in an m52 not an m50 does that mean the brake booster relocation is not necessary? Or do I still need to do it?
@@slightlyMADcustoms Oh wow thanks for the reply :) Yee I figured as much. Also just btw these videos are super great and helpful, most helpful stuff I could find about this swap on youtube!

The way you welded, you need a good prayer for the future .

I got anxious just by looking at it

Good to know! Does the booster need to specifically come from a 330 or is it the same across all e90 models?
@@slightlyMADcustoms all e90s they are only 60 bucks on ebay
Getting a 2002 fluid reservoir can be hectic
@@omondibriancosmas4368 you can buy them new online still.
@@zachogdahl210 so a 2008 or 2011 328xi booster would work?

doing an m52 swap on a e30 coupe in a few months in the states, definitely doing this now instead of any other swap methods

Ryan Lawley Thanks! Good luck with the swap! Let us know how it goes or if you have any questions
Is it half an inch over from the center of the bolt hole or the edge of the bolt hole?
Either will work. I’d go from the edge

If I keep the stock m52 intake manifold is this still necessary?
Yess
@@slightlyMADcustoms Ok thanks!

I’ve heard about a Renault Clio brake booster as an alternative. Is this true?

Hey! Yes you will need to do the brake booster relocation swap wether it’s m50,m52,s50, or s52.

Ya those engines are pretty similar to m52/s52 so it should be the same. Or very similar
