Nice job repairing the old dozer. She'll thank you with renewed effort. ❤ I was wondering how often you need brakes on a bulldozer (unless you're on a hill descent). Take your foot off the accelerator, and she just grinds to a halt, no?
You are correct on level ground. The brakes aren't used very much to stop the machine. They are used extensively on an individual right left basis to aid in turning.
Very tough Dozer .Even though I live in the Mountain's it is very Sandie here it eats up metal pretty quick. Due I guess to this very old mountain range being worn down so much. There are places where the Rocks large and small never get covered by the dirt. over the years of dead plant matter,dead trees,Etc. falling on them. Do you have any places like that where you live ?
Up there where we are working there is a mixed bag. Some of the places are just straight, beautiful topsoil very deep and other places. The rocks are right at the surface.
