I got pregnant with our first child at only 16. I gave birth right before my senior finals. We started out so broke, as I tried to juggle college, work and a child and my husband worked insane hours trying to start a construction company. I ended up with a law degree and career, his company was successful and we raised 7 children, our 5 (the others born when we were older) and 2 foster children. It takes work, but it can be done. We stayed happily married until my husband passed away at only 45.
the person mainly singing is not Kenny. Kenny is the one with the baseball hat on. The guy singing in the beginning actually sounds like the former lead singer of Lonestar. another amazing country band.
Every time I hear this song, it literally tears me up. I always end up, thinking about my daughter because the song is true.

I’ve seen him live over 15 times. Such an amazing performer. Almost all the times have been outside at Riverbend in Cincinnati or outside at the football stadium in Louisville. There’s something about an outside concert in summer that makes it so much more special.
I saw him once in Atlanta at the Braves stadium. Was kenny Gary allen LeAnn rhimes and Sammy hagar. Was the best country concert I have ever been to. And in my top 5 of all genres.

Everyone sitting on stage with Kenny is a songwriter. The ladies sitting to his right wrote one about tequila with him, which was a hit Brett. James wrote one with him and a couple with Carrie Underwood. Jesus take the wheel one of them when the Bailey so many to name.

The live performance is beautiful but the music video is more heart felt
It goes by sooo fast and then they are out in the world successfully,but your heart aches for the distance and the silence …and then they say we are pregnant and the joy starts all over again
I love the official video.. But this live was very special.
I was in the military when I became a father. I was able to spend 2 months with her, before deployment. 4 months in I got notice she had died. That notice sent me into 10 years of pure hell. I missed the funeral of my daughter, and I never forgave the Navy for that. It's been 38 years, and I'm not sure I've yet to forgive myself. Needless to be said, that relationship didn't last. I have had the honor to have raised 3 kids since then, and heald on to a good woman, who has seen me through some dark times.
My daughter is bout to start senior year of HS. Stupid song makes me cry everytime.
The best part is he gave up his dreams of going out to the coast for his daughter who ended up growing up to live his dreams of going to the coast. That’s the sacrifice of a parent.

Thing I love about the 3rd verse is the double meaning of there goes his life because his daughter is his life but also his daughter is going to go off to the west coast like he was planning to so she is kind of going to live the life he had originally envisioned. At least that's my take
Same for the 2nd verse... taking about the same thing as she goes up stairs to bed.
