Actually Yasir Qadhi is right, anyone who have studied Islamic scriptures know that the Quran has not been preserved in any way, this is not me who are saying that, you can find many references from Islamic books that say it directly or indirectly, that's why he doesn't want to delve into it publicly.

@@davidalbert5425No dude it's not my problem it seems like the dawah team has the problem because It's causing an uncomfortable friction between the muslim community as a whole. It is like they are concealing information that is taboo to be discussed because they fear that there will be a wave of muslims leaving Islam. This may not have destroyed them but it definitely bent them and that would be the beginning of a crumbling that could potentially happen. Qir'at and Ahruf are both different recitations or dialects of the Qur'an that started with Muhammad. These revelations were memorized by heart, written on scraps, leather, animal bone etc. It was not in book form until the rule of Abu Bakr. But then the Qur'an started to spread and these dialects were causing new converts to recite the Qur'an differently. This worried Uthman who was the third or fourth caliph of the muslims. So to fix the problem he gathered the different Qur'ans and condensed them into one starndardized book and burnt the leftovers. These scribes and scholars worked very hard to preserve the Uthmanic version of the Qur'an so on and so forth. So it is not 100% perfectly preserved not to mention that bulk of it was missing because the people that memorized it by heart were killed in the battle of Yamama. But let's say that these hadiths or islamic literature are either unreliable or false. That means that there are Islamic materials are still available for all to read and that nobody can take any of these informations as truth. This is why it's causing uncomfortable friction and conflict between different scholars or apologists. Yasir Qadhi may not be your favorite scholar because he touched upon some taboo issues regarding the Qur'an but if he ever said anything that everyone agreed upon then he is all of a sudden the perfect scholar! Come on man! You're being inconsistent and unrealistic. I'm an atheist by the way. Not a christian.

As much as I want to appreciate your work in picking apart Muhammad Hijab (who is some of the worst dawah individuals that I feel shouldn't represent Islam), I felt that this video was disingenuous. As a Muslim, I completely understood what Yasir Qadhi was saying in terms of the pressing academic questions that challenges some of the minor points in Qur'ranic preservation. These areas are considered problems and need to be resolved before it is discussed out to the public. It is far better to keep it within academic circles who pose hypothetical questions as part of a science rather than posing the questions to laymen Muslims who only learned from the Qur'an and commonly authenticated Hadiths. This is especially true given the knowledge and constructive intelligence that's lacking among Muslims at large. So it's not so much of a bombshell here but rather attempting to dramatize this situation when it really isn't.

It's easy to take the details we know about, place them into a context that is missing all the details we, as viewers, are ignorant of, and decide what ought to be. But this isn't necessarily appropriate. We don't know if an oath or promise was made, without realizing the repercussions, NOT to contend or confront his answer here. If he did something like that, he would be breaking his purposeful promise/oath which he may have felt compelled not to do while also compelled to rectify. What if he was unsure of what to do? Do you act ignorantly or do you contemplate and figure out the best course of action? If you don't chose to engage reflexively, does that necessarily mean something like what @Foodnreligion said? (That retroactively censoring instead of confront these ideas shows Hijab has no desire for truth?) Rationally, the evidence here would not sufficiently support the claim. It’s just a form of censorship. They’re so afraid. This isn’t surprising, this is a very human condition. This is why it’s difficult to leave cults. We are taught that something is “right” “correct” and the “truth” and you’ve believed that wholeheartedly. You think you are rational? One Quran = One way of writing, Mushaf of Hazrat Usman, there are different ways of reciting verses. Different Dialects. A verse is written the same way and recited differently. There is no difference of opinion in the Dialects either. It is not a matter of preservation of the Quran. It is about defining Ahruf in terms of Qiraat, more about Arabic nuances in meaning. In simple words, what he is referring to is the nuances in meaning related to the way of reciting. These nuances are very subtle and is kind of a rhetorical aspect of the Arabic Language. Even if you are having a few doubts, remember atheism is a belief full of ignorance, hate, nihilism and lies. What Allah has given you is much better. Remember: Something cannot come from nothing Which means you will be held responsible and judged by Allah. The Arabs of the time had excellent memory and were capable of reciting many hours of poetry (which they loved and appreciated) from memorization alone. Arabic as a language is also rich, complex and layered. Had it been revealed to any other nation, it would not have been preserved the way it is. No rhymes, no stanzas, it would have simple texts that can be easily edited...like your bibles for example. Because of the way Quranic text is, it is almost impossible to change it, because there is a rhythm to every line that needs to flow into the next. Tell me which body of text is more easily corrupted? A complex work of poetry where alliterations are used, where every line had to rhyme, and the rules of poetry are respected....or a basic essay? I can edit a basic essay in minutes to erase or add lines I don’t like. It’s almost impossible when it is a complex poem, substituting words to change the meaning of the verses can become an impossibility. This is how the Quran is preserved. Any attempt to edit it, will stand out like a sore thumb, because once it is recited, it would sound disharmonious.

This was devastating to traditional Islam. It was pretty much admitted that it has several holes and that traditional islamic scholars are not succeeding in answering the problems pointed out by secular academics. Non-muslim academics don't just obey the Quran, so they keep pressing on and asking the questions, and muslim scholars have no answers available. They cannot defend quranic preservation because it is obvious that it is extremely problematic - there are various versions of the Quran with very significative differences, and several suspicions of interpolation and so on. The muslim scholar straight up admitted it's a huge issue that they don't know how to answer; that it's an "open secret" among muslim scholars; and that they are uncomfortable talking about it in public.

Muslims do not have an early Uthmanic Quran that is a lie. There are 37 different Versions, with more than 93000 differences between them. Even the Rasm ( basic texts) in the 6 oldest manuscripts. In Codex Parisino-Petropolitanus France, Samarkand, Topkapi, Sana’a, and the Birmingham version are not even from the 7th Century, and NONE of them are complete copies. There are so many parts missing from each one, that even combining ALL of these Manuscripts together still won’t make a whole Musaf. And now we are finding that even these differ in 10000's of ways from each other, and there have been untold alterations, changes, coverings and erasures. The FACTS are that there is no such thing as "The Quran" there are many variants with many different words, meaning and even order of the Sura's E.g. Ibn Masud’s Codex starts 2,4,3,7 & ends with Sura 94. While Ubayy’s begins 1,2,4,3 and ends with 114. There are NOT just HOLES in the Quranic story, they are GAPING CHASMS, which cannot be explained. So how can anyone with any logic or common sense believe that it is the Word of God

Then when I scrolled through his comments section I saw that any negative comments tended to be from stupid people and all the real objections I thought I would find were absent. After looking through other commentaries I saw that other people were experiencing the same thing, people were saying that their comments were regularly being deleted. Hijab won’t allow any intelligent objections to his point of view. I understand this, he needs to protect Islam from any harm, especially from the truth because that could seriously harm Islam. It is like they are concealing information that is taboo to be discussed because they fear that there will be a wave of muslims leaving Islam. This may not have destroyed them but it definitely bent them and that would be the beginning of a crumbling that could potentially happen. Qir'at and Ahruf are both different recitations or dialects of the Qur'an that started with Muhammad.
These revelations were memorized by heart, written on scraps, leather, animal bone etc. It was not in book form until the rule of Abu Bakr. But then the Qur'an started to spread and these dialects were causing new converts to recite the Qur'an differently. This worried Uthman who was the third or fourth caliph of the muslims. So to fix the problem he gathered the different Qur'ans and condensed them into one starndardized book and burnt the leftovers. These scribes and scholars worked very hard to preserve the Uthmanic version of the Qur'an so on and so forth. So it is not 100% perfectly preserved not to mention that bulk of it was missing because the people that memorized it by heart were killed in the battle of Yamama.
But let's say that these hadiths or islamic literature are either unreliable or false. That means that there are Islamic materials are still available for all to read and that nobody can take any of these informations as truth. This is why it's causing uncomfortable friction and conflict between different scholars or apologists.
Yasir Qadhi may not be your favorite scholar because he touched upon some taboo issues regarding the Qur'an but if he ever said anything that everyone agreed upon then he is all of a sudden the perfect scholar! Come on man! You're being inconsistent and unrealistic.

As much as I want to appreciate your work in picking apart Muhammad Hijab (who is some of the worst dawah individuals that I feel shouldn't represent Islam), I felt that this video was disingenuous. As a Muslim, I completely understood what Yasir Qadhi was saying in terms of the pressing academic questions that challenges some of the minor points in Qur'ranic preservation. These areas are considered problems and need to be resolved before it is discussed out to the public. It is far better to keep it within academic circles who pose hypothetical questions as part of a science rather than posing the questions to laymen Muslims who only learned from the Qur'an and commonly authenticated Hadiths. This is especially true given the knowledge and constructive intelligence that's lacking among Muslims at large. So it's not so much of a bombshell here but rather attempting to dramatize this situation when it really isn't.
That's a fairly damning critique of the Muslim population.

It's easy to take the details we know about, place them into a context that is missing all the details we, as viewers, are ignorant of, and decide what ought to be. But this isn't necessarily appropriate. We don't know if an oath or promise was made, without realizing the repercussions, NOT to contend or confront his answer here. If he did something like that, he would be breaking his purposeful promise/oath which he may have felt compelled not to do while also compelled to rectify. What if he was unsure of what to do? Do you act ignorantly or do you contemplate and figure out the best course of action? If you don't chose to engage reflexively, does that necessarily mean something like what @Foodnreligion said? (That retroactively censoring instead of confront these ideas shows Hijab has no desire for truth?) Rationally, the evidence here would not sufficiently support the claim. Given little information on the why's and the why not's, it is probably inappropriate of an action for us to speculate and make character judgements about.

It’s just a form of censorship. They’re so afraid. This isn’t surprising, this is a very human condition. This is why it’s difficult to leave cults. We are taught that something is “right” “correct” and the “truth” and you’ve believed that wholeheartedly. Suddenly you are presented with a challenge that could disprove or shake your understanding of what you’ve believed to be the truth. It makes you uncomfortable and fearful, so you either explore it or ignore it. This happens often and we aren’t always aware of it. There’s a name for this but I cannot remember it.
We have discovered dinosaurs existed because of evidence that was found. The Quran does not say that dinosaurs once roamed the earth. That information is irrelevant to us,so Allah does not mention it.
Regarding things you doubt and wish to question, ask yourself if it is relevant to your existence on earth. If it's not, ignore it.
Fact is, there is non worthy of worship besides Allah and every prophet that was sent relayed the same message.
You aim in this life is to worship Allah and be good and kind in every walk of life, and know that on the day of hashr you will be answerable for your wrongs. As for the unnecessary questions, always remember, Allah knows best

One Quran = One way of writing, Mushaf of Hazrat Usman, there are different ways of reciting verses. Different Dialects. A verse is written the same way and recited differently. There is no difference of opinion in the Dialects either.
It is not a matter of preservation of the Quran. It is about defining Ahruf in terms of Qiraat, more about Arabic nuances in meaning.
In simple words, what he is referring to is the nuances in meaning related to the way of reciting. These nuances are very subtle and is kind of a rhetorical aspect of the Arabic Language.
Even if you are having a few doubts, remember atheism is a belief full of ignorance, hate, nihilism and lies. What Allah has given you is much better.
Remember: Something cannot come from nothing
Which means you will be held responsible and judged by Allah. If you continue your ways, you will enjoy this life and will be held responsible in the next.

I believe the revelation is uncreated since it’s from Allah (ie. everything that Allah conveys in the Quran)...but words, language, dialects are a creation since they are tools of communication. God’s message cannot be changed and the revelation will always be perfect, whole and complete. But the Quran can be recited in different dialects and languages for different tribes and nations...with the same exact message...why is that such a big deal and a scandal? If anything that shows that God is accommodating and wanted his revelation to reach all tribes, so 7 AHRUF were revealed (again, all with the same exact message) 🤦🏻♀️ most Muslims don’t even care about this, unless they are part of the minority of extreme literalists who say there must be ONE LITERAL QURAN (youtube makes it seem that all of us are, but really they only represent ~10% of the Muslim population).

No. If god wanted to reach all of mankind it would not favour one language Arabic over others. A language which was a rather infantile chaotic mess unable to accommodate the message of the quran. To date there are no complete copies of qurans dating back to muhammad. The isnads are all fabricated hence unreliable and everything we know about this 7th century muhammad muslims believe in, we are told of by Islamic scholars like Al-Bukhari, Ibn Hisham, Al-Tabari who existed 100+ years later, hence the sources are untrustworthy since they provide a redacted history of Islam.
There is no evidence of a religion called Islam as it is understood today, a book called the quran & a group of people called muslims from the early 7th century or at the time muhammad supposedly received revelation.
No external/non-Arab groups documented anything related to this Islam, its prophet and book either and they kept well enough historical records of major observations.
Conclusion, Islam and its historicity is one giant lie that has been reworked under Abbasid rule for power and control after defeating the Umayyads rewriting history by fabricating a religious narrative in order to validate false claims.

The Arabs of the time had excellent memory and were capable of reciting many hours of poetry (which they loved and appreciated) from memorization alone. Arabic as a language is also rich, complex and layered. Had it been revealed to any other nation, it would not have been preserved the way it is. No rhymes, no stanzas, it would have simple texts that can be easily edited...like your bibles for example. Because of the way Quranic text is, it is almost impossible to change it, because there is a rhythm to every line that needs to flow into the next. Tell me which body of text is more easily corrupted? A complex work of poetry where alliterations are used, where every line had to rhyme, and the rules of poetry are respected....or a basic essay? I can edit a basic essay in minutes to erase or add lines I don’t like. It’s almost impossible when it is a complex poem, substituting words to change the meaning of the verses can become an impossibility. This is how the Quran is preserved. Any attempt to edit it, will stand out like a sore thumb, because once it is recited, it would sound disharmonious.

This was devastating to traditional Islam. It was pretty much admitted that it has several holes and that traditional islamic scholars are not succeeding in answering the problems pointed out by secular academics. Non-muslim academics don't just obey the Quran, so they keep pressing on and asking the questions, and muslim scholars have no answers available. They cannot defend quranic preservation because it is obvious that it is extremely problematic - there are various versions of the Quran with very significative differences, and several suspicions of interpolation and so on. The muslim scholar straight up admitted it's a huge issue that they don't know how to answer; that it's an "open secret" among muslim scholars; and that they are uncomfortable talking about it in public.
they will never talk about it in public. there is a culture that will make sure it doesn't matter. most of us, like Abdullah, were dissuaded from questioning too much. Scholars often treat followers like children, making sure we don't poke and prod too much. Otherwise you will be labeled, ostracized or outcasted. I'm not an atheist like Abdullah. I am spiritual. I understand the culture all too well to know that they have an interest in keeping us docile and mute.

Muslims do not have an early Uthmanic Quran that is a lie. There are 37 different Versions, with more than 93000 differences between them. Even the Rasm ( basic texts) in the 6 oldest manuscripts. In Codex Parisino-Petropolitanus France, Samarkand, Topkapi, Sana’a, and the Birmingham version are not even from the 7th Century, and NONE of them are complete copies. There are so many parts missing from each one, that even combining ALL of these Manuscripts together still won’t make a whole Musaf. And now we are finding that even these differ in 10000's of ways from each other, and there have been untold alterations, changes, coverings and erasures. The FACTS are that there is no such thing as "The Quran" there are many variants with many different words, meaning and even order of the Sura's E.g. Ibn Masud’s Codex starts 2,4,3,7 & ends with Sura 94. While Ubayy’s begins 1,2,4,3 and ends with 114. There are NOT just HOLES in the Quranic story, they are GAPING CHASMS, which cannot be explained. So how can anyone with any logic or common sense believe that it is the Word of God

As much as it unnecessary and inconsiderate for Muhammad Hijab to cut that portion, what you are doing is worse because you are looking for a way spreading falsehood or half of the truth.
Yasir Qadhi is one of the main reasons why so many people are leaving Islam. This main should not be seen as some idle of Muslims. Most of his support comes from his own people and others who want a loop hole to not practice Islam seriously. This man provides it.
honestly, I was one of those who almost left years ago when him and his people were pushing a very puritanical/right wing version of Islam where I lived. I know he apologized but he turned a lot of people away from Islam. Many of us got exhausted and are no longer part of the community.
