A lot of Westerners may not know who Hotei is but I'm sure many would recognize his music. Hotei wrote and performed ""Battle Without Honor or Humanity", aka the Kill Bill Theme song. Hotei was the guitarist of the legendary Japanese rock band, Boøwy.

Yes, looked him up after we recorded the episode and found out. That Kill Bill track is AWESOME! Definitely, as we suspected, an established veteran.
@@myindieprodentertainment Hotei has had an extensive career. There are lots MVs and albums to enjoy. Man with a Mission composed and performed the title song for a recent blockbuster Kong vs Godzilla. The track is called “Into the deep”. The band members have interesting names. I copied this from their Wiki entry. So glad you guys enjoyed reviewing the collaboration.

@@myindieprodentertainment Really? Weird... it still cracked me up on the second watching, even though I knew it was coming. But then maybe I don't only like the odd songs, but the odd sense of humour as well 😂 I loved it - and it sets your channel apart, I think. That, and the way you actually engage with your viewers 🙂
@@miceandmen We try. Sometimes we struggle with time, but we do our best to engage. After all, without the viewers there would be no channel 🙂 We do hope that more enjoy the channel/show and subscribe and view as it would take much growth of the channel for us to be able to move to full-time and make more content on a regular basis. We have done well keeping up the pace so far, but it is getting more and more difficult with keeping our day jobs and film projects and such. I need a nap! 😉

Great review of this collaboration track. As you said there is meaning in the lyrics not just fluff. The video is extremely well done with lots of details to appreciate.
Yes, really enjoyed that. Awesome song and it was great to become aware of Hotei, who we googled after the recording to find out a little more about. He's been around for a while and has done A LOT!

We know the Kill Bill Theme, just were not aware of his name. He is not hugely famous outside of Japan, to the best of our knowledge. Still, it was great to be (re)introduced to his work. He's awesome!
