Love your videos so much! Especially when you do deep dives into the houses and designers. You’re so intellectual. I love the way you educate about the history. I bought the Loewe pocket bag for $650. I didn’t know Celine had a similar priced bag or I probably would have ordered that round one in corns. I live in FL where it always feels like summer, so I’m sure I’ll get great use out of it!
Ohh nice find! Loewe has such an amazing range of summer bags. Florida weather is perfect for basket/raffia bags🙌 Thank you so much for watching Shani❤️
Céline basket …i do like the round cute one. it’s different, but classic. -Very stylish. It can make an outfit more 70s by adding it i feel I feel you can do basket bags during winter. No rules at all. Jane Birkin wore with her winter coats I believe. Something you’d grab though!
Love the studded bag by Khaite. I just picked up a Mulberry Alexa bag with gold and silver studs on the front flap. Love the classic look mixed with the edgy studs.
Hi Mary, you made me chuckle today - I do girl maths for my summer bags 😂. We can’t guarantee great summer weather here in the UK either so I decided to make my own basket purchases worth it. I knew I would have to buy baskets that I loved and would use for a few years (at least 😂). I have three now and they still look fab and can be used for commuting into town or as holiday bags. I love the Celine soft panier but I wish they had the option of a short and long strap. I also prefer raffia over palm leaves. The Khaite bags are gorgeous (the green raffia 💚💚💚), and are probably worth buying now before the prices go up. Hope you have some sunshine today 🥰
Ohh yes, I can alway girl math my way into a purchase so long as I can enjoy wearing it🤣 I do think I'll find the right perfect basket bag, so good to know you wear yours. Ohh yes it's quite warm now. Thank you so much for watching and sharing Maria❤️
I am loving the dragon diffusion bags. They are really different from Bottega actually and have a great summer vibe but they are still leather. You could wear these into fall and spring. I am picking up some simple vintage Bottega for summer as well.
I'd say... go for the Celine, Large Round Corn Leaves & Calfskin, or the Row, Estelle. They're both fairly priced, and what I think are two of the best looking bags. I don't blame you for not wanting to really throw down for a summer bag, especially if your summers are shorter. I'm in Los Angeles, where summers begin around now, and can go until mid October, and I still don't want to pay more than $1,200 for a raffia bag.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Maybe its my perception of the cost of materials or how these designs can easily be found on etsy, I struggle with the price of these basket bags. Thank goodness the Row is under $1200🤣 Thank you so much for watching️❤️
@@MarysRoom As someone who lives in Chicago, I agree. We have a real summer but it still seems to go fast and I also struggle with knowing the cost of the materials. They are all lovely but my favorites are from Celine. I don't think I could ever justify a wicker Triomphe bag for that price, however 😂

The row and Celine summer bags are so tempting! My favorite is the brown Estelle tote 🤎😘
Ohh yes! The Estelle is stunning and can absolutely see that in your collection🙏❤️
Depending on if this is your personal style I love the idea of wearing a basket bag with a winter knit! And omg the lotus in raffia I’m drooling
Ohh great point! I wear knits during summer months when I go up north. It's so good! Thank you for watching❤️

Ohh yes such a good point! Jane Birkin is a forever icon with her basket bag❤️
