I think It has to di with the full prononciation of each and every letter. But you should listen to Spanish and Greek too, it has almost the same effect. As if hearing every sound in a word helps conveying full feelings.
Marlena is probably one of the best metaphors in modern music history. I have seen so many artists use names in their songs but it’s often referred to a real person that they wrote the song about, which isn’t necessarily bad. Instead of that Marlena is their muse, their strength, their creativity and their artistic freedom. In this song Damiano sings about how he wants Marlena to come back home, he wants his strength to come back home cause he feel anxious and cold without it.
I am falling for this italian band hard... I just discovered them from Eurovision and i am loving them! 🖤 hope one day i will find the courage to move to beautiful Italy.. with love from Cyprus 🇨🇾
Me to. Falling for them deeply! It is authentic, it celebrates diversity as they sing in mother tongue, they have amazing female bass quitar player, they are just being themselves...so it works - it touches your heart 💕.
I am French and what I understand is enough to feel the song moving Marlena white hair cigarettes hard lane to go across and no happiness possible until she comes back to her home where she belongs
Masterpiece. I’m so sorry for myself that I didn’t hear this before. It could be already 3 years of love instead of 3 months. I’ve learnt English because of Jared Leto. Now it’s time for Italian ❤️🇮🇹

Complimenti!

For not italian people that wanted to know the meaning of the song: I've put a number beside every starting sentence in both the actual lyrics in italian and in the english version so that you can see which sentence corresponds to which. Marlena btw is an Italian femminine name that Damiano (the lead singer) used in his songs as a personification of music. When he says "Marlena come back home" or "life without you can't be perfect", he is talking about his way of being an artist, how music changed his life and how he feels cold now without it. this comment is going to be super long ahahah The lyrics itself says: 1•Cammino per la mia città ed il vento soffia forte 2•Mi son lasciato tutto indietro e il sole all'orizzonte 3•Vedo le case, da lontano, hanno chiuso le porte 4•Ma per fortuna ho la sua mano e le sue guance rosse 5•Lei mi ha raccolto da per terra coperto di spine 6•Coi morsi di mille serpenti fermo per le spire 7•Non ha ascoltato quei bastardi e il loro maledire 8•Con uno sguardo mi ha convinto a prendere e partire 9•Che questo è un viaggio che nessuno prima d'ora ha fatto 10•Alice, le sue meraviglie e il Cappellaio Matto 11•Cammineremo per 'sta strada e non sarò mai stanco 12•Fino a che il tempo porterà sui tuoi capelli il bianco 13•Che mi è rimasto un foglio in mano e mezza sigaretta 14•Restiamo un po' di tempo ancora, tanto non c'è fretta 15•Che c'ho una frase scritta in testa ma non l'ho mai detta 16•Perché la vita, senza te, non può essere perfetta Chorus: 17•Quindi Marlena torna a casa, che il freddo qua si fa sentire 18•Quindi Marlena torna a casa, che non voglio più aspettare 19•Quindi Marlena torna a casa, che il freddo qua si fa sentire 20•Quindi Marlena torna a casa, che ho paura di sparire 21•E il cielo piano piano qua diventa trasparente 22•Il sole illumina le debolezze della gente 23•Una lacrima salata bagna la mia guancia mentre 24•Lei con la mano mi accarezza in viso dolcemente 25•Col sangue sulle mani scalerò tutte le vette 26•Voglio arrivare dove l'occhio umano si interrompe 27•Per imparare a perdonare tutte le mie colpe 28•Perché anche gli angeli, a volte, han paura della morte 29•Che mi è rimasto un foglio in mano e mezza sigaretta 30•Corriamo via da chi c'ha troppa sete di vendetta 31•Da questa Terra ferma perché ormai la sento stretta 32•Ieri ero quiete perché oggi sarò la tempesta Chorus 33•Prima di te ero solo un pazzo, ora lascia che ti racconti 34•Avevo una giacca sgualcita e portavo tagli sui polsi 35•Oggi mi sento benedetto e non trovo niente da aggiungere 36•Questa città si affaccerà quando ci vedrà giungere 37•Ero in bilico tra l'essere vittima, essere giudice 38•Era un brivido che porta la luce dentro le tenebre 39•E ti libera da queste catene splendenti, lucide 40•Ed il dubbio o no, se fossero morti oppure rinascite Chorus Which means: 1•I'walking through my city, the wind is blowing hard 2•I left everything behind, the sun's on the horizon 3•I see houses from afar, they closed the doors 4•But luckily I've got her hand and her red cheeks 5•She pulled me up from the ground covered with thorns 6•With a thousand snakes' bites, motionless through the coils 7•She didn't listen to those bastards and their cursing 8•With one look she convinced me to pack my bags and leave 9•And this is a journey no one's ever made before 10•Alice and her wonders, the mad hatter 11•We'll walk along this road and I'll never be tired 12•Until time brings white onto your hair 13•Just a paper sheet and half a cigarette are left in my hand 14•Let's stay a little longer, we're not in a hurry 15•Because I've got a sentence written in my head, but I've never said it 16•Because life without you can't be perfect Chorus: 17•So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here 18•So, Marlena, come back home, I don't want to wait anymore 19•So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here 20•So, Marlena, come back home, because I'm afraid I'll disappear 21•And the sky is slowly becoming transparent here 22•The sun is illuminating the people's weaknesses 23•A salty tear wets my cheek, while 24•She sweetly caresses my face with her hand 25•With blood on my hands I'll climb all the peaks 26•I want to get where the human eye stops 27•In order to learn to forgive all of my sins 28•Because sometimes even angels are afraid of death 29•Just a paper sheet and half a cigarette are left in my hand 30•Let's run away from those who are too thirsty for revenge 31•From this motionless land, because I'm feeling to darkness 39•And sets you free from these bright shiny chains 40•And I'm in doubt, whether they were deaths or rebirths And then there's this part that is very similar to the Chorus: (So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here So, Marlena, come back home, I don't want to wait anymore So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here So, Marlena, come back, because Our Italian teacher brought this song to class one day and made us translate it. I liked it then. Now a year or two later I'm listening to it, and I'm getting quite nostalgic about the time I spent in high school. The only thing missing is a good guitar solo otherwise it's amazing.
If an Italian band like Måneskin had released a song like Coraline when I was in high school I wouldn't have dropped Italian in year 10. I would have inhaled the Italian dictionary, and would have read the untranslated version of Dante's Inferno and watched Fellini without the subtitles by now.

I left everything behind, the sun's on the horizon
I see houses from afar, they closed the doors
But luckily I've got her hand and her red cheeks

With a thousand snakes' bites, motionless through the coils

Because life without you can't be perfect
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back home, I don't want to wait anymore
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back home, because I'm afraid I'll disappear
And the sky is slowly becoming transparent here
The sun is illuminating the people's weaknesses
A salty tear wets my cheek, while
She sweetly caresses my face with her hand
With blood on my hands I'll climb all the peaks
I want to get where the human eye stops
In order to learn to forgive all of my sins
Because sometimes even angels are afraid of death
Just a paper sheet and half a cigarette are left in my hand
Let's run away from those who are too thirsty for revenge
From this motionless land, because I'm feeling it stifling now
Yesterday I was quiet because today I'll be the storm
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here

Marlena is probably one of the best metaphors in modern music history. I have seen so many artists use names in their songs but it’s often referred to a real person that they wrote the song about, which isn’t necessarily bad. Instead of that Marlena is their muse, their strength, their creativity and their artistic freedom. In this song Damiano sings about how he wants Marlena to come back home, he wants his strength to come back home cause he feel anxious and cold without it.
Maneskin Top!!!
it is not unusual in Italian and Greek classical culture (and let's say in general in European literature) to use a muse in the lyric of a text

Ovviamente, per me, la canzone è meravigliosa dalla musica all'interpretazione al video. Complimenti!

I've put a number beside every starting sentence in both the actual lyrics in italian and in the english version so that you can see which sentence corresponds to which.
Marlena btw is an Italian femminine name that Damiano (the lead singer) used in his songs as a personification of music. When he says "Marlena come back home" or "life without you can't be perfect", he is talking about his way of being an artist, how music changed his life and how he feels cold now without it.
this comment is going to be super long ahahah
The lyrics itself says:
1•Cammino per la mia città ed il vento soffia forte
2•Mi son lasciato tutto indietro e il sole all'orizzonte
Chorus
Which means:
1•I'walking through my city, the wind is blowing hard
2•I left everything behind, the sun's on the horizon
3•I see houses from afar, they closed the doors
4•But luckily I've got her hand and her red cheeks
5•She pulled me up from the ground covered with thorns
6•With a thousand snakes' bites, motionless through the coils
7•She didn't listen to those bastards and their cursing
8•With one look she convinced me to pack my bags and leave
9•And this is a journey no one's ever made before
10•Alice and her wonders, the mad hatter
11•We'll walk along this road and I'll never be tired
12•Until time brings white onto your hair
13•Just a paper sheet and half a cigarette are left in my hand
14•Let's stay a little longer, we're not in a hurry
15•Because I've got a sentence written in my head, but I've never said it
16•Because life without you can't be perfect
Chorus:
17•So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
18•So, Marlena, come back home, I don't want to wait anymore
19•So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
20•So, Marlena, come back home, because I'm afraid I'll disappear
21•And the sky is slowly becoming transparent here
22•The sun is illuminating the people's weaknesses
23•A salty tear wets my cheek, while
24•She sweetly caresses my face with her hand
25•With blood on my hands I'll climb all the peaks
26•I want to get where the human eye stops
27•In order to learn to forgive all of my sins
28•Because sometimes even angels are afraid of death
29•Just a paper sheet and half a cigarette are left in my hand
30•Let's run away from those who are too thirsty for revenge
31•From this motionless land, because I'm feeling it stifling now
32•Yesterday I was quiet because today I'll be the storm
Chorus
33•Before you I was just a lunatic, let me tell you now
34•I wore a creased jacket and cuts on my wrists
35•Today I feel blessed and can't find anything else to add
36•This city will look out when it sees us arrive
37•I was in the balance between being the victim and being the judge
38•I was a shiver that brings light to darkness
39•And sets you free from these bright shiny chains
40•And I'm in doubt, whether they were deaths or rebirths
And then there's this part that is very similar to the Chorus:
(So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back home, I don't want to wait anymore
So, Marlena, come back home, I feel it's getting cold in here
So, Marlena, come back, because I don't want to disappear anymore, ah ah ah
Ah ah, nai nai nai nai

I loved this Eurovision to bits!!! I like Netta only because of Just dance and Little Big who got 21 million views last year, wish they got a mention this year 👍
I think the only ones that can rival them are Euphoria and Fairytale.
I'm Italian and it's so cool to see the world giving recognition to Maneskin, true legends!
To everyone reading this, I hope that good music will help you to get through whatever you are going through, take care guys and girls!
This the great band but to be the legend they must last, not to play about four years but more.
@@jolane9721 sure, I said "true legends" just to say a compliment.
@@jolane9721 sure, this is only the beggining, but they need to continue🔥
You are so cute
@@jackalwildrift5371 thanks! ☺
Our Italian teacher brought this song to class one day and made us translate it. I liked it then. Now a year or two later I'm listening to it, and I'm getting quite nostalgic about the time I spent in high school. The only thing missing is a good guitar solo otherwise it's amazing.
I miss this era of them
If one ever needed a reason to learn Italian, this fantastic band is it.
Hello beautiful how are you doing, what's your beautiful name and where are you chatting from?
If an Italian band like Måneskin had released a song like Coraline when I was in high school I wouldn't have dropped Italian in year 10. I would have inhaled the Italian dictionary, and would have read the untranslated version of Dante's Inferno and watched Fellini without the subtitles by now.
Idem
I am french and I think that Italian language is most beautiful language in the world !! Would love to learn
Merci 😊
Wow
Well, yours is beautiful too!
😊
da italiana ti amo : )
Bellissima sta canzone❤
I am an Italian teacher and I have to thank Måneskin because so many people are appreciating our language more and more. I got two new students because they decided to learn Italian after listening to this band!
GG.
I started because of Vasco ;)
@@gintrnis If you still need a teacher.. I'm here ! ;)
I’ve also started learning Italian because of this band

Bravo
Filippo Condina uuuuhhh grazie !!!!😂😍💜
ottima interpretazione
simone bianchini già :)
Hai colto il senso della canzone bravo
When you don't speak any italian, but you do understand them, feels weird.
Ti capisco fré
si esatto pure io
thanks :)
I think that's music in its purest, transcending linguistic boundaries and being timeless
You don't understand the Word, you must understand with the lirycs
these guys are legends. his voice. god i haven’t seen anything like this since queen, since freddie mercury. he has an unique voice, they all have an unique style, i love it. måneskin world domination. this is a masterpiece
You're going too much w the Freddie comparison. I love his voice too but it's very much like Remingtons from palaye royale..
@@emyf9197 lmao, this guy can eat all Palaye Royale members for breakfast, his stage presence is insane and unmatched today, he's like the rock gods from the 80s and 70s
@@ciri_riannon235 your so off topic..
And the last part is just embarrassing.. Just stop.. Your exploding in fan girl.
In damianos own polite words: stop, don't say that, please
Easy, easy
I cant stop listening to their music even tho I don't understand a word, another proof that language isn't a barrier at all when it comes to spiritual influence. wishing them all the best, a great band full of great ambitious people, whats not to love?
🖤
language is not a barrier when it comes to music.❤
As italiano I suggest you to translate this Song...Damiano wrote all the songs and the words he used are so meaningful
You are the best. Congratulations. Greetings from Turkiye. We will be there too, soon.
Google "Morirò da re", "Le parole lontane", Vent'anni", "Chosen" and many others, live and on tour too. Victory well deserved. Listen to this songs and let me know!

@@fulviomiglio4162 thanks man, i liked those so much!
Abbinamento testi melodia e ritmo è praticamente perfetto.
How can a 20 years old can write such a masterpiece?! Unbeliveble. Bravo Damiano! Bravo to all the band!
Actually he was 18
This song was released in 2018
