Hi Nick, we want te thank you for all the content and intrestring points of view you have given us throughout these years. It was truly a highligt of the day to watch them all. It is us who should express our appriciation for you. No matter if you make a lot of video's or none at all, we are happy if you are. Take care and wishing you all the best.
Congratz on your diagnosis, I got mine a year and half ago (combined ADHD), gives you a new perspective on life. :D Good to see you making content again.
Welcome back Nick! I'm glad you're back at it and I look forward to whatever content you put out there! One idea for a video is maybe a most popular rule set for the game. Like which list building format is the most loved and what we as a community for the game could make standardized.
Nice to see you back, Nick. I’m sure I am not the only one who has missed your content. So glad you have had a breakthrough in your mental health - not that I ever thought you had any “issues” in the first place. I am still waiting on a formal diagnosis, but, also around two years ago, I suspected I have ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). My GP has noted that it is highly likely, and I am still waiting on being seen by the powers that be, for a formal diagnosis - I am 54, and, apparently, am capable of taking care of myself (😊), so I am very low on their list of priorities. What I do know, is that just that initial realisation was a source of great relief to me, finally having a name to put to why I have always felt different to the general, unwashed masses, and why people always seemed to treat me differently to others (though, perhaps, thinking of other people as “general, unwashed masses”, might also have something to do with how I am treated by others… 😂). I hope you felt that same sense of relief, knowing there was a name for “how you are”, and options to help you manage it. Glad you are back. Was never offended that you disappeared - just figured you had found other things to do. It’s a shame this has happened to the game, just when you decide, to return, though. Looking forward to the community content to keep X-wing alive. I have been playing Blood Bowl since second edition, and the “wilderness” years, when GW dropped support for their Specialist Games range, was some of the best years for that game. Un-coincidentally, I stopped playing BB, when GW released the current edition, and undid all the careful balancing, and hard work, of members from the BB community, to keep the game alive, during the time when GW deemed it “unprofitable”. No game is a dead game, as long as people continue to play it. I always said I would keep my collection, when support for the game ended, because the minis are beautiful, and X-wing is the game I always wanted, since eight year old me first saw Star Wars, back in 1978. West End Games’ “Star Warriors” was good, but X-wing is great. Now that “official” support has ended, I can finally buy the glass display cabinets I have always wanted, as I now know my collection won’t be getting much bigger (although 3D resin printer does go “vroom”, and there are free files out there for all but one of any of the ships that have ever appeared in the game… 😈). The only ships I have printed, to date, are some TIE Phantoms, in clear resin, to use when the ships are cloaked, and some basic CIS ships, to boost my numbers so I could field enough minis to play an average game of HotAC, set during the Republic period - I was always going to buy AMG models to replace them, if I decided I was going to play this version of the game, long term. Welcome back. Reap the rewards of enjoying playing games. Blessings to your partner for being so supportive of you. Cheers,
Thankyou for the thoughtful comment! :) Sorry to hear you are having trouble getting a diagnosis, a few people close to me have/ are going through that kind of thing also. I can certainly relate to the releif that discovering what's actually going on brings. If it's any comfort, the diagnosis in my expieriance was really just a formality. I'm sure you're in a similar situation as to where I was where once I was able to access the information (and I was made aware of it) it was extremely clear what was actually going on, and I could come to terms with it immediately without a diagnosis. Mediaction/ treatment is fantastic, BUT you've already expierienced the most important and most rewarding step of the process. :) In my opinion, anyway. The example of Blood Bowl does give me a lot of hope, although that's a weird unique situation where the main company still make several lore adjacent games.... but still. Is there still much community driven gameplay curation even though there is an official edition now? Will be talking a lot about alternate play styles like HOTAC in the near future, so stay tuned. :) Thanks again.
Hey! I'm new to x-wing (great timing...) and recently diagnosed myself so I can certainly relate! Just wanted to say thanks for the openess. As a new comer I appreciate these community and content videos but good to know you'll take the time you need to stay healthy and happy!
Always great to see you come back at your own speed. Quantity does not equal quality and that's a trap that a lot of content creators fall into and eventually burnout. Lots of love from us the community and we are so glad to have you back.
So happy to hear that you are getting the help you need, and whatever you put out I'll be happy to see it whenever it shows up. I've always enjoyed your perspective and I think you have the right attitude for creating a healthy community.
Glad to see another video so soon. Sorry to hear about your mental issues. It must be hard living with it. I am not sure what you can talk about x wing but maybe about possible rule sets or alternative games? Important thing is to keep looking after yourself. I would be bum-ed out if you never posted again but you must look after your health and happiness. What ever you decide to do I will look forward to seeing your next video.
Sorry no offense meant. Just meant to acknowledge your struggles. If there is a better way of saying it. Just let me know. I will note it for any future post (if it's relevant/makes sense)
Probably something like "mental health challenges" . "mental issues" kinda carries a bit of stigma. It's all good, no need to apologize, I know there was no ill intent. :) I will also accept "spicy-brain whoopsidoodles".
Awesome to see you back! I was just telling my girlfriend and her kids about your content. You and Justin always were super relatable and the quality was great! How is Justin? Glad to hear you are healthy and life sounds pretty good for you. Looking forward to seeing you more!
I didn't know you played, Nick. What kind of guit-fiddles have you got back there?! Also, no rush. The folks that want to watch your vids will be here. Go at your own pace, mate. I, for one, am just glad you're back! *celebratory wookiee noises*
ohhhh right. I like that, might use it myself :P I own a couple of Gibson SGs, a Squire Tele, and just a crappy old nylon string accoustic I've had since I started learning as a kid. Used to play a lot, I even studied music composition, it just hasn't been my core passion for a while is all.
@@HairyNick Nice! I've always been an SG guy, though currently I'm rocking an LTD Strat style shred guitar. I've been playing since 2008, been through a handful of bands. These days it's mostly just me and an acoustic... My tube amp is *far* too loud for my current living situation. XD
Hey Nick take your time get well, better some nick than no Nick. lol I play x wing still but not as much because of 2.5 however I added Bolt Action to my games choices which is a lot of fun. have you ever played or seen that ? if so please look at it maybe an idea for a Video.?
I always thought the lists review videos were your best and most unique ones.
It's what got me here all these years ago :)
We'll be happy with whatever kind and amount of videos you put out Nick! Excited to have you back in any capacity, I for one 100% understand!
Heya Nick! Glad to see you are doing well! And thank you for collaborating in the past! Wishing you the absolute best in the future!

This is like bumping into an old friend.. sad it also reminded me of the poor state of a game I used to love
Nice to have you back! Especialy with this new X-Wing era beggining
Well done mate, love your work. It was great to join the Discord. Shoot out the content when you're ready. We'll always be here to consume it.

Nick's back!!!
It’s super good to have you back. Hearing you talk about it is finally getting me interested in the game again after it’s been stagnant for so long.
Hey Nick nice to see you buddy. Always fan of your content
The Nick Awakens!
I have it too, Nick. Can't afford the meds right now. 😅 Hope to get there at some point.
Welcome to the ADHD club Nick, I hope you enjoy finding milk in the pantry and not knowing why or how you put it there.
