Remember guys, that IOC changed the rules for selecting cities (this time the city with a majority of infrastructure constructed before the start of the bidding process , wins the nomination, this to make countries don't have huge debts) so the most likely cities that are going to be the front runners are Berlin, Madrid or Seoul (of the cities that are rumors to join the 2036 nomination)
Are there any rules about the continents? I mean, like a city cannot host the olympics if another city in the same continent hosted the event in the last twelve years or anything like that.
actually, berlin might apply in a joint bid with tel aviv! i find this a rather interesting bid as it was 100 years before 2036 (1936) when the olympics were held in nazi germany
@@simoncuartas7402 very unlikely. FIFA world cup proved it it’s inefficient since not all continents are quite well in sports infrastructure and it’s very likely that future host city would be off developed countries
Madrid. The other two cities have already hosted the Summer Olympics, Berlin in 1936 and Seoul in 1988.
Madrid has never hosted the Summer Olympics.
Our Indian PM is desperately trying to bring the Olympics to his home state of India. So they are constructing infrastructures and there is also a 100,000 capacity stadium there.
On serious note there other countries don't need to host, but India desparately needs a home Olympic to encourage many to take sports as a career option.

@@Caveirazul But it was a very tumultuous time for Mexico. 1968 saw the Mexican massacres carried out by Mexico's own military, DAYS before the opening ceremonies. 1968 Detroit would have been much more spectacular as it was a booming city at the time.

You cannot host a country without a billion dollars... Other super rich cities cannot even host in spite of resources. There are some other some other factors that need to be considered like safety and security, facility, population and city's reputation... Doha, Dubai, Vienna, Berlin, Seattle, Las Vegas, Amsterdam and other cities in Europe are dying to host the Olympics but it seems like it's just a dream...Much more if your city or country is just part of 2nd and third world country....
