  • Upper engine and injector cleaning on a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax LBZ motor. I ended up breaking the bleed screw but had my old one as a spare. Thank God!! At one point I didn't realize I was recording the wrong way. Sorry about that. Overall an easy job and a good maintenance for injectors that are getting high mileage (mine have 194K miles).

    I've read all your post and no one mentioned if you replace the fuel filter. One video said replace the filer before you begin your procedure. I would seem to think you would replace your fuel filter after it's all done. Any comments would be appreciated. 2004 LLY one owner "me". 206000 miles.

    I did this to my Lb7 2 weeks ago and it smokes twice as much. Also my lisle disconnect tool would not work for my 1/2 inch supply line so after quite a bit of struggling I connected the 1/2 inch supply line right to the fuel filter and had no problems. If you have problems with the fuel line disconnects then just use the lines on the filter.

      As you have no doubt come to realize, inferior VCO injectors on our LB7’s are prone to not shutting off properly, causing leakage and coking of the nozzle tips 😟. Look into SAC’s which are available in OEM delivery rates. That type was used with much better reliability on all Duramax after LB7.

      This product is a fuel injector cleaner. If you buy the bottle in the video....it should do the trick. DO NOT add it to the tank. It must be mixed in a container like I did and run from the fuel lines in the engine bay. Both gas and diesel use fuel injectors and this product do not state gas vs. Diesel injectors.
      Check around on some diesel forums if need be for peace of mind.

  • @jayfenwick4214
    @jayfenwick4214 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    why are you priming the system with the lines disconnected. You have disconnected the complete system when you disconnected the fuel lines to hook your two hoses up that go in to your jug. You prime the system maybe after you reconnect your supply line.

    • @paulthewxguru5899
      @paulthewxguru5899  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      When disconnecting the fuel lines like this, the lines that are connected and in the jug are full of air. Priming the lines draw fuel from the jug thru the lines and into the filter. Had I not primed it, it would have died due to drawing air.
      The filter is drawing off the jug at that point for the duration. Same concept still applies.

    I have an 07 LBZ thinking my injectors could be bad or dirty because the acceleration is very poor and when I drive it when I press on the pedal a little not it’ll start making a weird sound kind of like its klacking and it has a bad tick noise at idle and also do bigger tires affect these trucks as far as speed and acceleration do you know? And also what kind of injector cleaner is that and where did you get it?

    • @paulthewxguru5899
      @paulthewxguru5899  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The clacking sounds like an injector hung open. Any smoke with it?
      It you get a constant tick at idle, it very well could be a blown head gasket. Check your coolant hose after it has completely cooled. If it is still pressurized, you likely have an issue.
      The good news is, the 2007 as far as I know all came with the riveted head gaskets. My 06 LBZ still had the crimped design, but it changed mid build on the 2006 to the riveted designs.

    • @gamerbeastboy1842
      @gamerbeastboy1842 4 ปีที่แล้ว
