ACDF update and NEW ACDR Surgery
This video is an update to the original ACDF video I shared in Nov 2018 (th-cam.com/video/7VXl_WL6MFQ/w-d-xo.html). Also, surprise, I just had ACDR surgery on Aug 15, 2023 and go over what that was like as well.
If you have questions, please leave a comment and I will get to you as soon as possible.

Silverado Duramax Injector Cleaning

Upper engine and injector cleaning on a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax LBZ motor. I ended up breaking the bleed screw but had my old one as a spare. Thank God!! At one point I didn't realize I was recording the wrong way. Sorry about that. Overall an easy job and a good maintenance for injectors that are getting high mileage (mine have 194K miles).

2006 Duramax LBZ with a engine tick that is louder than the typical "typewriter" tick. Truck has 172K on it. Bought with 167K and it didn't make this noise. No loss in power, no smoke at all, no hazing, can't hear it over music. Haven't had a chance to check balance rates yet either.

Hey, Paul. Just want to let you know that I had my ACDF surgery yesterday morning, and mine was a double (C4-C5-C6-C7). I'm so glad I watched your video several times before my surgery, as it prepared me for much of what I experienced, and am still experiencing. There are so many points of yours that I found to be spot on. I, too, opted to stay overnight, and I'm glad I did. It was comforting to know I had a wonderful team of nurses and techs watching over me. My actual surgery time was 58 minutes, and I was in recovery for about 90 minutes before they took me up to my room. MOST IMPORTANTLY - I can't agree with you enough that the most pain I'm experiencing is from a wicked sore throat, and I mean it's wicked. But my surgical team prepared me for this, and I'm taking paid meds to control it. Speaking of meds, I'm now taking Oxycodone (5mg) every 6 hours while at home, but in the hospital they were giving me 10mg every 6 hours. They also have me on a muscle relaxant which I'm taking every 8 hours, because, like you, I have some pain in the back of my shoulders from tense muscles, but that pain isn't any big deal. I don't have any pain from the incision, which surprises me, but I'm not complaining. Again, I can't wait to get past this sore throat, because it hurts like you-know-what every time I swallow. My surgeon told me if the sore throat just becomes too much, to up the Oxycodone at home from 5mg to 10mg every 6 hours. Anyway, Paul, just wanted to thank you again for your video. It really helped me prepare me for my surgery, and I'm grateful you took the time to share your experience.

Thank you for sharing your story. I had a C5-7 fusion a few months prior to your surgery. They didn't put all the extra needles in that I had. However, now I am 4 years out and my lower level didn't fuse and the screws at the bottom of my plate are coming out. So I have to go back in here soon and get C6-7 redone. They did harvest bone from my hip to put in my to do mine that was more painful than the neck part honestly. I will say I the pain was far better after surgery than before surgery. I was in a collar when standing or in a vehicle, at two weeks I was also given a bone stimulator. I went home same day as my surgery. With that being said I don't regret doing the first surgery, it was the best thing I could have done. I was at a similar place before the first surgery I had severe radiculopathy, and it was affecting my spinal cord and getting worse as time went on.
