Though current versions of the roms actually won't do that anymore, maybe they fixed it in the meantime? My friend played it on a Raspberry/RetroPi machine and the finale went regular like expected, and I... I mean, my friend... didn't even know about that harsh measure.

Also because they showed a lot of competence in romhacking while theese antipiracy videos are all just lazy and the concept of the antipiracy is not intresting, unlike the personalized copies, wich on paper were a very intresting idea (wich as I already said shown their potential sonetime). I was a lot into the personalized copies's groove but not on this one: they took everything that was bad from the past creepypasta, leaving behind all the cool and intresting ones.

I feel like we are going to see anti piracy screens for pretty much every GameCube and Wii Nintendo game at this rate. This is a very weird trend of fans creating anti piracy screens but fun to watch none the less.
Something not mentioned is that it was already happening in summer while Mario 64 was hot before this took off. Someone did one for Sonic R, Toy Story snes, and Goldeneye. Speaking of I wonder if Swankybox will do the "Proof X character was almost in Melee" videos.

I always loved Anti-piracy screens. I find them very interesting in the many ways that it's done, even if these are fan-made. I like how creepy a lot of them are; maybe they don't entirely seem as such here, but imagine playing it alone in your room at night and having one of those screens show up.
Anti-piracy methods are really fascinating in general. There's a great article about the complete and utter insanity that was programmed into Spyro 3 to delay pirates long enough so that the game would the best sales possible in its first six months.
Man, I haven't heard the joke where they continually butcher someone's last name since Strobovski (which is still going by the way, and that video's wrong at this point). Imagine how cool it would be if these screens were real. I mean, obviously then Nintendo would know about them firsthand lol they were great until I wore them out by watching them too many times LOL
Idk, there's something about error messages and the phrase "turn the power off NOW" that's so damn creepy to me. I used to get scared of the "it is now safe to turn off your computer" message from the earlier versions of Windows, and the Smash Bros Melee "game over" screen used to scare me pretty bad. There's something about broken game creepypasta that's so inherently unsettling that taps into that fear of technology not working as intended, or even working completely as intended but being so out of place for a kids' game.
Would be cool to see of other non-Nintendo games, I stumbled with some of Joey Panetone's work recently and I can't stop thinking how would games like Persona 5 Royal anti-piracy screen look. Or Sonic Mania/Forces with that Phantom Ruby corruption effect.

I recently saw one of those anty piracy screens but with nintendogs Istg this screens doesn't scare me but something about seeing in the screen "dog is sick with a mortal disease" Then seeing "dog has died" And their gravestone, and you can't do anything to prevent it filled me with fear I went straight up to get my game and gave love to all my doggos and cats because i felt very bad

Then the screens suddenly go dark, and then only the bottom screen lights up saying '(Dog) has died. Nintendogs can only survive in legitimate Nintendogs cartridges', and then a art style matching park and headstone is zoomed into with the dog's name, and another text box 'R.I.P (Dog) 2020-2020'

Good video. I just wanted to mention that anti piracy screens have kind of been a trend since the "Every Mario 64 is personalized". A Mario 64 anti piracy screen and some sonic anti piracy screens were made throughout June and July.
