- In today's video I'll be showing you how to connect your wireless Bluetooth headphones, headset, earbuds and AirPods to your PlayStation 5 console. Unfortunately, since the PS5 does not have the ability to connect to Bluetooth audio devices built in you have to use other means to connect your favorite Bluetooth device. In this tutorial I'll show you how to connect your audio device to your PS5 using a Bluetooth dongle. You will need a Bluetooth dongle to connect wireless audio devices to your PS5. Make sure to get a dongle that has a pairing button on it as that kind of dongle does the actual connection. Avoid buying dongles labeled as "PC Bluetooth adapter" or "Laptop wireless adapter" or pretty much any dongle that doesn't have a pairing button. I just paired my Sony 1000xm4 to my tv then I turned on my ps5, But I can hear the sound from both tv and headphones too, so I completely turned off the tv volume(not Bluetooth volume)and I experienced no issues in-terms of latency using headphones. But don’t know how this Bluetooth sound adapter helps.

So I have seen this dongle. that same company I think had a pairing dongle that had a usb type c female connector. The USB C one if plugged in the PS5 only has ONE usb C port. So a bluetooth that you can still plugin another device to it.
Thank you for explaining that I need a pairing dongle. I was trying to use my pc dongle and thought I was going insane.

With my Logitech headset I can just use my PC dongle and it works

Hey, can you review a few types of earbuds/headsets that'll work because my earbuds wouldn't connect. Like they were found but it said they weren't compatible.

I have the Sony gold headset and for some reason I have to have the ps5 turned with the back facing me so the dongle is facing me or the headset won’t work. It’s strange also need to be within 6ft or I lose connection.
How is chat sound is good ? Any noise in game chat ?
The USB type C does work but it took me ages to connect... Took almost 30 mins as it tried to connect to everything but my headset.

Hi there, nice guide, need to ask how its possible at 4:09 as I saw, to have selected the mic of your headphones and not the one on the controller , mine does not do that and the controller mic is so bad.

Does using a dongle on a PS5 eliminate sound delay? The only way I've found to attain no delay is to connect my headphones to my controller with a wire but can't control the volume with my TV remote which is kinda irritating.

also if u still here try seeing if your tv supports bluetooth
If you dont need voice chat you can also connect the headset to your phone and use remote play with another account on the playstation, the controller can still be connected to the ps5 and the audio lag is not really noticable

But that’s just too long. Sony should stop being stingy and let us connect our normal Bluetooth devices.

How to find out if latency is going to be an issue for the headphones with my ps5? I have to buy new headphones but I am concerned about latency issues.
I, i know my reply comes a bit late but the adapter is aptx low latency certified.
Lag is reduced to less than 40 ms. In addition, if your headphones are compatible you can use 3D and Dolby on them.

I use Bluetooth not to bother others when I play solo games.
I just don’t understand why I have to use a separate mic to plug to the controller when the controller already has a mic.
I believe it’s so that the mic from your headphones goes to the ps5, and it’s not just using the controller built in mic.

If the dongle has a pairing button it will work with your headset. The PS5 says "not supported" on all audio devices that attempt to connect via Bluetooth

That's correct. In the video he says to input a mic that comes with the adapter into the controller. Who wants that? The controlller already has a mic that sucks.
I'm my experience I've always been a stat for things don't work when I plug n play. Said he had a other vid for troubleshooting, but I didn't give it a look. Gave the headset away to a friend who bought an old truck. Could use it if we used a chat app via phones. But we don't
