Absolutely amazing video. Im so glad to hear a group of people actually appreciating the complexity and creativity of this unit. So many people have their heads buried in the sand and don't truly understand the beauty of this game, but you guys really do. It's refreshing to see a fully prepared, mistake free review of a warscroll/rules. It's very frustrating to see Warhammer TH-camrs talk out of their a** and give the community the absolutely incorrect information. But you guys nailed it. Well done.
I put down the ore-order for the Ionus box, since it’s what I’ll need to finish my Draconith army. At 400 points he’ll feel right at home in both my SCE and CoS armies. Run him in Lethis, and you can just automatically shut down a unit’s ward save for a turn since he gets access to the Lethis prayer as an SCE priest. And if he doesn’t he’s still going to be a lot of fun to run with the Pontifex, yeeting lightning bolts at every enemy hero on the board.
The dispel on the invocation isn't actually all that great against invocations that move and do damage, because it happens at the same time as those invocations activate, so your opponent gets to move the axe (and do the damage) before you get to get rid of it. It's still a nice little ability, and it's great against endless spells and against invocations that don't move or have non-damage effects, since it gets rid of both at the worst possible time for your opponent. On the prayer enhancement thing, keep in mind that he does still know Bless and Smite like any other priest. Smite is super situational, but Bless is just straight-up good for most Stormcast lists, and seems like an obvious second cast option if you're out of range to do anything offensively. I don't think a prayer enhancement is a bad choice, but I also don't think it's really necessary or that you're losing a lot of his value if you don't take it.
If i can send a message to my pastself , i would stop myself from buying 3 sdg box plus this ionus box. With how fast SDG get nerf and still be nerf after 2 years , those money could be very well spent elsewhere.
Hey, In another comment I saw you replied to someone about there being better ways to spend money in terms of units, Would you guys make a video going over recommendations on boxes/units to get that cover many lists etc?
Unfortunately there aren't many great bundle boxes available for Stormcast, and the few we have are not ideal to make the kind of lists we need... For example Dominion has many units which range from mediocre to bad in matched play like Yndrasta, Vindictors, a Vexillor, and an Arcanum. It has zero shooting units or cavalry, which are core to success with Stormcast
@@TheStormkeep So individual boxes, focused on cavalry and shooting (like Fulminators and long strikes) are pretty safe bets? I picked up the dominion box myself and I’m looking to expand upon it.

It seems like we are getting new Thunderstrike replacements for our oldest models next year... so I would be very careful about buying anything like Liberators right now, unless you want to jump right into playing. Vanguard and Sacrosanct units are probably not being replaced for a long time. Dracoths/Stardrakes are probably going to stick around for a while, too

Sort of, better than krondys probably. Really wish the dude just hit harder. Like he's costed around what our other options are currently and not what they should be. 340 stormdrakes, 300 Bastian, 300 Knight Draconis, 330 Prime etc.
Dracolines do comparable damage as the Fulminators, but they do it every turn instead of only when charging. This makes them an excellent unit to riposte from behind a screen. They are also faster (12 v 10), have more wounds (15 vs 12), have re-rollable charges, can unbind/dispel, bring their own +1 to wound buff (empower), and deal great mortal wounds. The mortal wound blast can also be allocated to a different unit than your melee attacks, so there's some extra flexibility in how the damage is allocated. They're also 6 bodies on objectives instead of only 4, which is a significant breakpoint 2 Fulms are a good unit... sometimes I use both Fulms and Dracolines!
@@Michael-ib6ky he looks expensive because he dropped alongside the incredible Belthanos scroll, but that's stormcast for you always feeling 10% over costed.
he is overcosted,400 for a named,no ward hero and also zero buffs hero is way way way too much for only around 14 damage median. the cost must be 320,is a joke how belthanos with ward5 ,similar damage and MANY MORE utility cost only 360. for sure wont be played in competitive as happens with krondys and karazai for the same reasons:named,no ward and overcosted. and this hero have the same problems

Youre right, there are definitely some issues with timing since Invocations usually move at the start of the enemy hero phase

why do you prefer 3 dracolines vs 2 fulminators? they hit harder, they have more effective health, they are battleline...

He offers a lot of utility, but his stats aren't worth 400p. Like most Stormcast units, he came out about 10% overcosted :P
