you know... Something as detailed as this, you'd have never thought you could pretty much do it in like 20 minutes or less if you've never draw something like this before. I mean, I legit have never even remotely considered doing this and you're showing us how to do it in no time at all lol. Plus, that star 'trick' is something I've never considered. Ironically, I'd probably have duplicated it and flipped it once and been done. Never would've thought doing it like 20 more times differently would make it so much better lol. This is a 15/10 video. Nice
For anyone who is struggling make the stars a template you can use over and over if you are practicing so you can focus on the galaxy if you are having problems with it. This is a great video.
I watched this video tonight and drew the picture on my iPad Pro at the same time. I produced a half decent picture and found the pace and information really helpful. Thankyou
Just bought my iPad and pencil, bought procreate and watched many many “how to” videos......but until I found your channel I didn’t understand how to use it. Thank you so very much for your guidance, I can now try on my own !
I just got the iPad Pro yesterday and watched your Procreate tutorials. They are so helpful. I am able to start painting right away. Thank you so much. 🙏
My first effort didn't go too well. But the way to do the stars is genius! Once I figured out to untick the background box, it worked. Took me a few goes to get the galaxy bit to work, I found I had to make sure the opacity was set low, then it looked amazing! My son is having a go now. Nice to have a tutorial that uses the standard brushes.
I have that same daydream about swim on space, just like a mermaid, floating on the space through the stars and planets and galaxies and everything, and watching you drawing it feel like seen a unknown god creating the amazing
I got my Apple Pencil today and I didn’t know anything of how to draw a gal y this was really helpful though I found that using the flare for the stars look really nice for me I definitely recommend using flare if your bad at drawing stars like me
Mooooorree videos like this. So fun to watch lol I enjoy watching you draw specifically on your iPad with your Apple Pencil and I appreciate that you actually show you drawing and not just what's going on with the screen. Thanks for sharing!
You gained a sub, my friend. I just recently got the 2018 IPad Pro 12.9 and the Apple Pencil 2. I’ve had Procreate for a while on my iPad Pro 9.7, I just haven’t really tried to learn the program. Watching your videos, it inspires me to dig deeper into the app. I’ve been doing art for 30 something years, but only dabbled in digital art for the last 3-4 years off and on. I’m amazed at the technology and how you can pretty much do everything on iPad that you can do on paper or canvas. I’m excited! Thank you for these uploads!
wowza! this was just as mesmerising to watch as the painting itself! I have the first iPad Pro 9.7 in from 2016 + Apple Pencil, when I also discovered Procreate, but, apart from a few kindergarten-level stuff I made, I never really found it in my guts to dive deeper into the soooo many features all 3 combined offer... not until I discovered your tutorials! so THANKS A MILL, James! you rock! :)
Am a newbie at drawing and your videos has really helped me pick up Procreate and drawing skill like I'll never imagined myself could. Really want to thank you in your clear step by step videos. I've just finished creating an art piece after watching your underwater scene tutorial and now moving on to making starry night sky. Just, really want to thank you!
You're Videoer are soooooo helpful, really has revolutionized my digital skills, and yes, lately I've been doing far more landscapes, water and sky stuff than ever before, REAlLY adding a lot of create stuff to my portfolio. Thank you, from the bottom of my empty soul! 🙌🏻☺️
Your channel is amazing for someone getting back into art with an ipad pro and no idea where to start. Your videos are so relaxed and informative and I really enjoyed painting along. Thank you!
Wow thank you! this is really helpful! This whole time I was just like, using spray for making stars, ughh just less effort. So again thank you very much for this awesome tutorial :''')
This is so awesome! I was just thinking about doing a space one. I came across a video of people using spray paint to make galaxies and planets and such just using spray paint, cardboard, lid from pots, etc. Thought it was the coolest thing. Thought it would be cool to kinda recreate that on procreate.
Enjoyed the tutorial. Used it as a guide for my first Procreate project. Only problem I have is keeping my pencil tip from sliding on the screen when I touch it to make the stars. I get more that look like commas. I adjusted the tip pressure curve to help, but you really have to be careful with the slightest movement of the tip.
Absolutely incredible videos...so helpful and instructional. Your students are lucky to have someone as talented as you for a teacher cause unfortunately not All art instructors have the talent or the ability to explain it the way you do. Thanks so much for sharing All this with us Sir!
This improved my galaxy painting by 10,000 fold. Mine is good enough to trick my mum it’s a photo from NASA thanks to this video. I know with more practice I’ll fool myself too.
Wow! This is really beautiful. I'm now very tempted to get an Apple Pencil and iPad Pro and make space art. Although, mine will never be as beautiful as yours :) Thanks James!

I agree!!! Amazing videos and so helpful! You're a wonderful teacher 👏👏👏
Maybe there's a star here and he probably needs some friends :)
I was thinking same thing..
I highly recommend the “Light Pen” under Luminance, for your stars. It gives them sort of a glowing effect, and made mine look much better!
thanks

What is it about artists explaining what they're doing that's always so relaxing?
I have begun to draw on tablet since a week, and you are the first tutorial that I am following!
Could you do a video on buildings. Maybe desert buildings or just plain city buildings?
I watched this video tonight and drew the picture on my iPad Pro at the same time. I produced a half decent picture and found the pace and information really helpful. Thankyou
