when i was child, i have always dreamed one day someone would play this music with real instrument and real electric guitar. and you made it . my dream came true. thank you man
He didn't say 'what it sounded' like, but 'what Matt Gray had in mind'. :) I didn't get this difference for too long, also. In the 80s and early 90s, when I was around 13, I hated rock music, radio music an all that other stuff as it was boring old music for boring old peole - I only liked the raw, digital sound of home computers, like C64 and Amiga. Ths music was super modern, even futuristic, nothing came even remotely close and all that old and unknowing philistines who didn't play computer games wheren't even aware on how uncool they where :) But what I did not realize at first was, that a huge lot fo that music actually was composed by 'normal' rock, metal and pop musicians who tried to recreate their newest song within the technical limits of the machine they where composing for. This usually changed the sound and overall mood so much, that the computerized versions sounded cool to me, while the original rock versions just wheren't acceptable to me at all, without me even noticing that all these great Amiga scene demos and many games's soundtacks actually where metal or rock music. After all guitars where just so uncool, primitive and analog sounding, that only grandpas like all that 20 to 30 year old guys from the neighbourhood would hear music including guitars, like metal, while I purely was intro full electronic stuff - so how could this happen to me? ;) In the long, the music of the 80s computer games actually made me listen to acid house, acid techno, electro and dark trance for the most of my life. But some years later I understood the close relation between 'real' world musicians and computer musicians and learned to respect them for what they are for :)
This was definitely the best song of all time from the Commodore 64 to hear it done through a live band makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up it's so EPIC. It also reminds me of the killer instinct soundtrack as well to hear it done live.
I've been listening to your versions for years on YT and Spotify. Just wish I could be part of this. :D Love the guitar sound and the style, close to the original but better. Drummer is really creative, giving some more prog/metal to the original songs but still not overplaying. Bass has a solid groove respecting the original, but I wouldn't mind a little bit more distortion on the sound. Synths...love 'em too. They're there for a reason and played well. Can't do any 80's without synths. Great work!
thanks for that brilliant performance = the birth of this song (and wasteland oc) was the spirit of our time and that spirit lasts forever = play it at my funeral
i watch this like 10th times already and I still amazed, how perfectly is this track performed and how ffs the lead guitar guy didnt make a single miskate in solo climax around ~5:00 ... - - - not a single false tone, 100% perfect not mentioning drums, bass and strings - guys, let me give you my final respects : = . FLAWLESS . . VICTORY . = = . FATALITY . =
was 30 when i saw them live lol xD , i discovered the game Last Ninja 2 on the Wii's online store several years before & i backtracked many of the C64's music library after that, i was bless so to speak.
hey just wondering out loud. the fast loaders never had any music only the slow loaders had coz the loading took so darn long. :) but these fast loaders make this sound so coool thx people!!!!!!
I grew up with a C64 in the 80's (41 now) This song is forever etched into my mind :)
I can confirm that. I'm 46 now
same here (42)
its really incredible how much music they were able to squeeze out of that very basic hardware.
Polite term is the bassist.
Lol

The music you loved played in the way you always dreamt of.
when messing a littled with c64 the said saw tooth was guitar like sound.. i gues this is what they intended.
precisely!!!!!!! ❤
dreams are made of commodore c64 music
I bet this was what Matt Gray had in mind when he composed it back in the 80's. Sounds perfect.
So it means you are DEAF

Yep! Great soundtrack. I'd like to hear "The Basement" from that same game. One of my all-time favorites: th-cam.com/video/VvQQ49XWYDk/w-d-xo.html
I’ll get hearing damage happily listening to this. RIP Ben, thank you Matt Gray.

A masterpiece reminding me lots of memories of those days
Can't believe how tight it is - awesome job, guys!
So many memories re-ignited by this wonderful music.
honestly, I´d ike to see a REMAKE of this game series to current standards in graphics and gameplay ..with the original music played by Fastloader
And/Or a film...starring none other than Master Sho Kosugi (Possibly as the evil Kunitoki)..A trilogi of course
It would surely be destroyed and disappointing, like FF7 Remake....
The day I´ll visit New York , I´ll be taking a stroll through Central Park with this in my ears!!!!
I'm guessing any public toilets in Central Park will not have the old chain flush pulls to make a pair of nun-chucks out of.
@@ThePathStrider oh well
I did exactly that. It was in my ears non-stop :-)
