Thanks Adam! I appreciate it. I’m working on a trail guide for Hell’s Revenge now. I know, I need to get some of those little fuzzy deals that go over the mic to filter out some of the wind! It was bad. That was the worst I’ve seen it there! - Geoff
Yes, I have been waiting for this video! Every off roader should watch this video prior to hitting up this this trail for the first time. Excellent breakdown!
Thanks John! Yes, you will run Hell’s Gate next time! You got Escalator too. If you tip on your side it just scratches your top and doesn’t really do any damage. You can do it!
fabulous video....was in Moab for first time Aug 29-Sept 2nd 2022....was almost to Hell's Gate when I lost 4wd (system went crazy)....had to turn around and drive out in 2H taking the bypasses...I also had to be towed up a few walls by a guy in my group that 2H just couldn't get me over....so bummed I wasn't able to complete Hell's Gate or the Escalator....Oh well, gives me something to look forward to conquering the next time....keep up the great work on the vids!!!!
Thanks! What the hell happened? From your pic looks like you have a JL or JT? I’m curious to hear what happened with that. That sucks! Did you check out my other hells revenge trail guide videos? I need to finish the escalator episode! Just been busy. Moab will be there for a long time. Thanks for watching and the nice comment. Just in time for the weekend. - Geoff
@@Colorado4x4 apologize it took this long to respond..... I have a 2019 JL.....it was the simplest of issues....the stop bolt on the shifter/transfer case came loose (probably wasn't super tight from factory)...anyways, the shifter was slowly starting to move with all the crawling and threw the 4wd system into a tizzy....once back at condo, we were able to remove the center console and get down to the transfer case and got the stop bolt tightened back down...the next day we rode Tower Arch and Cache Valley Trail (something a little easier incase I had issues again)....luckily all was good and I had no issues.....the next day we finished off the trip with Poison Spider....man what a way to finish off my 1st trip to Moab (Elephant Hill, Fin's & Things, Hells Revenge & Poison Spider)....cant wait to go back!
@@michaelspurlock623 nice man! That sucks about the t-case shifter. At least you were able to hit some of the best trails! Poison Spider and Elephant Hill are both awesome. - Geoff
Nice! You are going to love Hell’s Revenge!!! I have been making (taking a long time) and editing a Hells Revenge trail guide so hopefully I can finish it sometime soon. It’s just so long though. I will probably break it down into 3 or 4 videos
Thanks for watching!!! I hear you about the music. Some of my videos have music but most do not. I subscribe to musicbed.com and they have way better music than the free TH-cam stuff. I prefer no music for most of the videos but for some of the compilation videos I have put in music to spice it up. Awesome video. Those jeeps are bad ass. Jerry FJ needs to remove rear sway bar and at least have atrac on for his front traction. My fj runs aftermarket springs, they are stiff enough where i run no sway bars..lol (ya it leans a little on the road, but not to bad) front lockers would've definitely got him out. Thanks for the video. I need to do moab for 2022.
Thanks Felipe! I appreciate it. Next time we will take his rear sway bar off when we get to Moab. Should he disconnect the front too? He was towing his travel camper trailer out from Denver so we’d probably remove the sway bars when we get to Moab. Front locker and he would have had it. I should have had him on a better line though to so it’s on me as well! I just figured he would climb right out of that spot! He forgot to turn his ATrac on as well and that might have helped him too. You need to just plan on a Moab trip. Give me a shout when you do. Maybe we can meet you. - Geoff
@@Colorado4x4 yes, I would remove fj cruiser sway bar when you get on the trail if you're pulling a trailer, I wouldn't worry about front sway to much, the gain is so minimal because of the ifs. I have my front removed because I'll take whatever i can get. Lol .. ever since I locked my front (ARB), rear long travel, and regear (4.88), it has been a game changer for my fj.. (running 35's). It would be crazy awesome if i could tag along some day. We'll keep in touch
Sweet. Thanks for the tips! Next time we will take his rear sway bar off. We love the FJs! They’re super capable and it did super good in Moab for his first time wheeling there! Yea brother keep in touch!

Yea 😔 we had to winch him out. Both front and rear sway bars were on. He forgot to turn on his Atrack (not sure if that is the right term) that kind of acts like a locker in the front. If he had a front locker he could have crawled out. Not sure if the atrac would have helped??!
@@Colorado4x4 rear locker and atrac should have gotten him out, but removing the sway bars helps a lot too! I wanted to do the gate while I was there a couple weeks ago but someone in a buggy/crawler rolled over as I pulled up and that didn't help with confidence!
His rear locker was on. I agree with the swaybar deal. I didn’t have him on the perfect line (as you saw 🤣) but I believe he should have been able to crawl out of where he was. We got him over that tippy spot hump and then his front driver tire was slightly off the ground and it was basically 2 wheel drive (locked in the rear). He was so close! After watching the video I realized that I could have backed him down a little and taken him up the steep wall on the far side of his rig, so put his passenger front tire up on that wall and then it would have worked. Oh well. I’ve spotted a ton of Jeeps up it but that was the first FJ for me! Maybe next time we go we can remove his sway bars just for the trip and then put them back on before we leave. It’s never a confidence builder when you get to an obstacle and see flopped rigs on it!!!! Hahaha. I don’t think anyone follows up with “alrighty guys, let me have a go” 😂
@@gkoverland I did! I got it a few weeks ago. It’s still in the box 🤪. Haven’t even gotten it out yet! I’m kind of scared to fly it. I’ve been watching a lot of videos on how to operate this contraption.

22:52 rule #1: there can only be 1 spotter. Rule #2: talk calmly and clearly to keep the driver calm and understand what the spotter is saying. Rule #3: don’t spot someone unless they ask for it. The wind noise is total garbage. This is the worst I’ve ever had and it’s not cool. I can stand some wind in these because it’s off-roading outside right? Right after this trip I ordered a couple Rode shotgun mics for the GoPros and canon camera and they have really solid wind socks. I haven’t tested them out yet but hopefully this BS doesn’t happen again.
