    In this video I will show how to repair an 8 Ah Smart Battery from Parkside.
    All the cells show an equal voltage and are charged, so this is not the reason why the battery does not work.
    The problem is the BMS which is blocked and no longer gives a signal to the charger or drill

    I don't know..I am not electrician.. but in some channel on TH-cam one of the guy was repairing 8ah smart Bms.. He said problem is in high temperature which Bluetooth produce and burn ❤️‍🔥 one of smd resistors and some ht7133. Alsoe he attached 2*20ohm resistors"bridge" and desolder completely Bluetooth module.. in his opinion this BMS will work fine without Bluetooth module at all..

    I did the repair exactly according to this video. After charging the battery for the second time in the charger, the battery in the Parkside Performance tool turns off after a few seconds. when inserted into the charger, the red and green diodes on the charger flash. the battery voltage is 20.6V and the indicator shows fully charged. Where could the problem be?

      they are not good, or at least these first models block the BMS easily

      If the supplier, Grizzly Tools, doesn't have stock anymore, you don't get a new one but you get reimbursed and keep the faulty one. And even if they give you a new one, they usually don't ask you to send the faulty one back, so in any case, it's worthwhile to repair the faulty battery.

      Hi
      These "smart" batteries have some problems.
      Try measuring the battery and cells separately, you should have equal voltage across them all.

  • @norbithehun
    @norbithehun ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nice job. Have you tried to reset the BMS? Sometimes it is working. Next to the control IC has pins and you can reset the BMS with them.

    • @CMCdiy
      @CMCdiy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To reset, I tried the button, I held it down for about 5 seconds and the yellow LED should light up, but nothing.
      I know about the 4 pins next to the IC, but I don't know how to do it.
      Do you have any idea how?
      I'm curious

    • @norbithehun
      @norbithehun ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CMCdiy Unfortunately, I haven't found any Service manual for the battery, but usually Reset or RST pin (mostly 5V) has to be grounded for 5-10 seconds.
      If you can't find the reset pin, check this solution: YT video: "Non functioning PARKSIDE 8Ah Smart Battery". In the video he disconnect the BMS, clean it with IPA, and heat it.
      If none of them work, try to check D11 labeled diode, sometimes it is shorted.
      I hope I could help to you.😉

    • @CMCdiy
      @CMCdiy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@norbithehun I watched that video. I do not find the logic of this cleaning, the logic is the total disconnection from the voltage of the BMS.
      And yes, I will try what you tell me on the next battery.
      Thanks

    • @marcusweigelt5632
      @marcusweigelt5632 ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess is that the cleaning and heating the BMS did not fix it. It was simply reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cells.
      Did you ever try to connect the cells to a "dead" BMS again?
      I'll try that, because I have a dead battery here that has the same symptoms as in the other repair video.

    • @marcusweigelt5632
      @marcusweigelt5632 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah, did not work for me. The bluetooth module has a resistance of 20ohms between VCC and GND. Also the V_in to the 3V3 regulator is missing. My BMS is definitely gone ;)

      I was trying to extended thermistor in 2ah battery BMS which was connected to batteries and I blown something..which I can't figure out what exactly it was.. I mean I touched hot solder tip in place where thermistor is attached and something went burned. Any ideas what could be? I checked ntc and this is not a issue... I suspect a resistor or diode but can't find which could be.. anyway charged doesn't charge now battery and some low consumption parkside devices works fine on this battery but others like impact gun doesn't.. how to diagnose what I burned? Visually nothing is burned..even I can't see any broken paths..

      the only difference between the 4-8 bms is the larger fuse, for the 4Ah it is on the bms board. the 8Ah one has it on the right side on the minus terminal
