Bruce Johnson of the Beach Boys wrote it for David who sang it first, he had a big hit with it here in the UK and Europe and his American record company didn’t think it would be a hit in the states and wouldn’t release it a few weeks later they gave it to Barry and it became his signature song. David sang it over here in the UK in concert right up to 2012.

David always articulate and i think felt that people deserved to be treated well no matter whether poor, rich , famous or not.
