      @@mylovleybabe Yes, class 4 laser is helpful with cord compression from various causes including stenosis, disc herniations, and enlarged ligaments. I would recommend consulting with a sports chiropractor or physical therapist regarding a combination of laser therapy, PT, and cervical traction. Hi Dr. I am having difficulty sleeping for a while now with neck pain. Did several sections of chiropractic treatment and it didn’t heal. Dr. Asked me to have a MRI and it showed numerous problems with C2-C3 / C4-C5 and C6-C7.

    • @DrBrandonNevel
      @DrBrandonNevel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear your are in pain. In my experience, the more pain a patient is in, the less laser power should be used. If too much energy is used, the pain can become worse. I recommend talking with your doctor and let them know you are in more pain after treatment. They may want to alter the laser settings or discontinue laser treatment.

      I’m sorry to hear you’re in so much pain. The laser will help reduce inflammation and help your spine heal. I recommend seeing a doctor, chiropractor, and/or physical therapist. Depending on your curvature, most scoliosis patients respond well with a combo of chiropractic and physical therapy.

      I usually recommend trying conservative treatment before surgery if possible including chiropractic, physical therapy, massage, spinal decompression, laser therapy, and at times injections. I'm sorry to hear you have damage at L4/L5. This treatment is laser therapy, not surgery. Unless there is severe and/or progressive neurological symptoms, I usually tell my patients to try conservative treatments for disc bulges and herniations before surgery. Each injury is different and I would recommend seeing a good sports chiropractor or physical therapist for an evaluation before surgery.

      I'm sorry to hear of your cancer diagnosis and side effects from the treatment. Laser treatment over sites of cancer treatment (ie: radiation therapy) remains controversial. While the laser can help the damaged tissue heal, some studies show low-level laser therapy (LLLT) increase cancer cell proliferation so shouldn't be used directly over areas with cancer present. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6122283/
      However, there are numerous studies showing laser therapy benefit for oral mucositis secondary to radiation and chemotherapy:
      pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22450151/
      pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24511199/
      If you find anything that helps with the side effects of the cancer treatments, please let me know. You are in my thoughts.
