I'd like to think that Ghengis is like one of those gun products where its sold with basically none of its harmful elements active, but has a "accidental" obvious switch that "accidentally" increases fuel flow to the flamethrowers, prepares the HAVOK charges and in a big whoopsie gives the pilot access to Furiosa. Because who would ever press that big red safety button of ultimate safety?

But a great many cargo ships were sold. Unfortunately once out of British waters the confederates proceeded to arm these cargo ships with cannons. Unfortunately these cargo ships were fast and well armoured, so they were able to function as effective warships for the time. Most unfortunate.
Okay, so apparently this is meme for a Mech TRPG. I'm interested. How complicated/crunchy is it?
fairly crunchy but bounded, so the numbers don't get too stupid. Interesting level progression (no economy, just license levels that let you "build" your unit from a collection of parts, via mixing and matching talents, systems, weapons, and frames), wonderful action economy (2 actions and a movement by default. Your standard actions cannot be duplicates unless otherwise stated. Free actions aren't subject to these limits, and overcharge lets you do any standard action as a free action instead, once per round, at the cost of heat. Other situations can give you a bunch of free actions, but tracking them and bonuses can be a bit of a mess). Uses only a d20 and d6s.
It's fairly light on RP though. It's fantastic when it comes to tactics.

Its kinda like DnD, so its not a lot of crunch.
If you have experienced Shadowrun, Cyberpunk 2020 or other REALLY CRUNCHY GAMES, its a walk in the park

How is it that Horus has mechs that are barely contained eldritch abominations that cannot exist within any sane universe, and Harrison Armory can consistently create mechs that are vastly more horrifying? Horus has a mech created from the Bootstrap Paradox that treats linear time like a rude suggestion, and somehow that’s still vastly less disturbing than a mech that is 75% shotgun whose purpose is “aggressive asset recovery”
well to be fair the 75% shotgun is an IPS-N mech, not HA.
HA's mechs are more horrifying for their history and use, but in a vacuum the mechs themselves aren't all that controversial or horrifying. Same kinda goes for SSC for the most part.

The more eyes we get on Lancer, the better. That system is exceptional in both story and gameplay. Plus, let's face it, who WOULDN'T want to play a TTRPG where you get your own personal fully-modular giant fighting robot whose potential variations approach eldritch proportions?
Oh yeah I just remembered that they don't just approach eldritch they Literally Are Eldritch
And somehow the eldritch mechs are significantly less horrifying than the ones that are just little guys with big guns

Say what you want about HORUS mechs, IPS-N and HA are no civilians. SSC seems fairly tame compared to the other 3 big manufacturers.
You know, these Genghis MkII mechs are quite similar to the ones they have at the nearby warzone.

The fantasy equivelent is armor astir.
I mean, a flowing thrower can be a legitimate tool for landscaping. That being said, apparently there's only two states in the union that banned the use and ownership of flamethrowers: California for obvious reasons and for some reason Maryland.

So, Lancer’s light on RP, but has amazing combat systems with tons of variance
…what would happen if you ran D&D or some kind of Forged in the Dark thing while *not* dealing with Mech combat? Those are heavier on RP with some stronger Pilot-based features to make them more unique - only problems would be Pilot vs Mech combats, which would likely need some kind of system translation, and keeping track of and levelling two characters at once

Ok, so to explain , there was this race of concious aliens called the egregorians and just so happened that we humanity were a lot more advanced than they were, so because we wanted to have the planet for ourselves we decided to TBK (Total biome kill) their entire planet, killing all of the egregorians, so far no other sentient alien species have been found (If you dont count math cthulhu)
