You've not mentioned the Sodbury Mop and fair, which was still held annually. Loved going there from a village 4 miles outside of Bristol, before driving through Yate to get to this treasure. It also had a lovely Grammar School (my older sister was there in the later sixties and early seventies). Still liked the video
Chiping sodbury had a beautiful 11th century church.Around there is beautiful sodbury bustling town, which is left by people out of love of this beautiful town to big cities.Jhon the Baptist church is really holly,it's grey stone tower with big diagonal butress at three sides and pulpit chansel arch.Latter renovated by GEStreet architect in 15th century. The long tower with big diagonal butress is worthwhile. Its amazing part of Cotswold
i think you have persuaded me to pay a visit. The wide high street perhaps has a more 'open' aspect than some, but the architecture looks as interesting as it is varied. And the church looks resplendent. Thank you.
Oh what? No mention of the upcoming Victorian Day? Aaanyway, I like the hidden streets with old stone cottages, by the local river Frome. Chipping Sodbury is part of the Frome Walkway, a real treasure of the area. Once you could walk all the way alongside the river to where the Frome meets the Avon in Bristol. These days you can still walk or cycle for most of the way.
I much prefer the quaint little villages you open up for our delight, this place felt way too large and commercial. I think as you so rightly noted it was initially the width of the main road.
What a town when you remember Ireland was invaded by the Roman papacy under an English Pope in 1169. The Norman's good architecture but bad social set up serfs fiefs.
Absolutely gorgeous love this channel 🥰🤩😍
Thank you for this lovely walk about😊👏👏👏

Amazing job! Keep up the great work! 💖💖💖
This would only make one require an open tourist visa and really explore these beautiful gems
You should come during the bi annual mop. Or christmas sunday. Or any of the other days the street is full of people and not traffic.
😍😍😍

Robbie Coltrane mentions Chipping Sodbury in the film Nuns On The Run.
