Nope..Either the 318 polyspherical with Duel 4 barrel or a Big Block 350 with Duel Four Barrel that the movie car Christine had! 1959 the 350 turned to the 361 and 383 later the 400 Big Block...Yes Chrysler had a 350 over a decade before Gm did
All the engine sounds in Christine were done with a 1970 428 cj mustang. The only way to get that sound with a 58 Plymouth is to swap in a FE ford engine
Yes it did...318 polyspherical aka Wide Block was around 1956-1966 before the 318 L.A..Confusing they had the same cubic inch but they had 318's.. These were 318 2 barrel or a 318 4 barrel and even 318 Duel 4 Barrel This will really throw you off,You either had the 318 duel 4 barrel in a Fury or a Big Block 350 Duel 4 Barrel that movie car Christine used...The 350 was Chrysler's first bib block and turned to the 361 in 1958 also the 383 in 1959...it also later turned into the 400 big block..These are low deck big blocks and lower/narrower than the 413,426 and 440 big blocks known as raised block.
@mypronouniswtf5559 Very good explanation and breakdown. As a Mopar fan and street racer from the early 1970s, I can say that you were spot-on! Remembering to include the 400 ci engine, clinched it.
Love the sound of all 4 barrels open. Don't get that with fuel injection.
The 318 was a good engine
Que belleza, lo felicito
One of the best looking dash I've seen wow! next to the 55-56 Chevy bowtie dash.
Is this like Christine?
I don't think many 318s had the four barrel option, but they should have. I always thought the MoPar steering wheel was too high.
Go Christine Go!
Cristine was a Plymouth Fury
@@ChinaSmile329 Close enough :)
Wasn't Christine a 350 poly engine with dual quads?....318 was a punched 273...not really a Plymouth guy just questions!
Sure sounds healthy.
Was this video shot in central San Joaquin valley ?
Lovely 😊
Lovely
What is the top speed?
suddenly 50 miles an hour
It'd be great to have a realistic mock-up of that beautiful dash sitting on a stand in my living room.
Would have been a hemi in 58 .🙂

doesnt sound like christine though

I’m glad cars are not this slow anymore.
Good thing it’s cheap n easy to bolt a turbo on these old cars and have a tenth of the issues of the new junk 😂😂
Says the Prius driver……
That’s not even horribly slow for the 50s
New cars are junk
This isn't slow at all you can only go the speed limit in the area your driving in
It didn't even accelerate anything....
My Jazz is faster
318 didn't exist in '58

@@mypronouniswtf5559Don’t forget the first tall deck big block, for one year only: The first 383.
It 1st came out in 1957' FYI you can google it

Our 58 had a 318
