You look very handsome in your Grandpa's hat! What a great way to honor him. 😊 Thank you for taking us along with you. Looks like that museum might be a fun one to visit! Hugs 🤗 and God bless ❤🙏❤
I’m so sorry for the loss of yourGrandpa, I’m so glad you had childhood & adult memories with him to hold onto. My heart goes out to you and your family. I love the hat! You do him proud❤️
I grew up in Florida but now live in Georgia. Your channel brings me back to Florida every time I watch it. Not to mention I learn so many things from your research on many places. Thanks for sharing your journeys in Florida. All the best! Jim
Your Grandpa had good taste, his hat looks great on you! Love this series, keep up the great work of showcasing parts of Florida most people would never see otherwise. I live up in Alachua, Florida which is about 15 miles North of Gainesville. So glad that you did the Tom Petty tribute episode. I went to school with him at Gainesville High. After he became so famous, he always loved to come back to Gainesville & do shows at the ExacTech Arena, better known locally as The Odome. You were next to it when you did the Halloween spook night on the U.F campus. As a tribute to Tom, at every home U.F. football game, the whole stadium, usually around 90,000 fans, sing "WE WON`T BACK DOWN" at the beginning of the third quarter. Awesome
This is another great trip to see these abandoned places especially the old ghost towns of the Everglades and the empty hospital i really enjoy places like this take care stay safe and thank you Tampa Jay.👋📻🙏
Oh Man …it’s crazy to see that town is totally abandoned 😮but, thanks for taking us along to show us around. You look fabulous in your Grandpa’s hat…so great to always have a piece of him with you ❤ May he rest in peace 🙏
That hat really suits you well brother, thanks for filming all these amazing locations. I always enjoy a good adventure. See you in the next one. Love ya bro.
Thanks, Jay for showing us around. I always find it amazing just how many buildings and places are abandoned down there in Florida. It is something for sure. Have a great one :)
Have you done a video or might you do one on the short lived amusement park Pirate's World in Dania? You really hit me in the memories with the wild west place. We went there once when I was a kid (I'm 70) . Thank you for bringing back some old but happy memories.
2 videos back to back for the start of 2025. I love it and the back roads ❤. I loved the Desert Inn. So sad when the 18-wheeler ran through the restaurant. I was hoping they would restore it. Wow, how it looks now is heartbreaking. I had always wanted to go there before all of this happened. Love the Backroads videos. Hope to see a lot more this year. Love the cowboy 🤠 hat. I have a feeling it's a memorial of itself. Wow, Belle Glade has been abandoned. Years ago it was an amazing little town. Hope to see more videos this year of the Backroads. Much love ❤️
BTW You spell OKEECHOBEE so much better than I did!!! Thx for the series..it's an two day trip that we did after reading the book. We included the Coral Castle in Homestead. Fascinating...
You wear his hat well. I can't imagine you without it anymore!!! Have you read the book Killer Cane about the Hurricane of 1928? You would truly enjoy it and would make your Ocochobee trip much more meaningful to you and your viewers....
I watch your videos, Adam’s videos, and Tim J Means Business videos. It’s cool how you and Tim J cover some of the same towns but focus on different things without even realizing it, different styles and perspectives. You remind me of Adam in some ways, which is a compliment. It would be awesome to see you and Tim J collaborate someday. Great video, by the way!
thank you. I appreciate you watching and leaving an awesome compliment!! To be honest with you I have no idea who Tim J is. I’ll have to check them out!! much ahead my friend!
Jay...another interesting video. Belle Glade seems a bit sad. Wishing you an awesome 2025...you are a great inspiration to me. Love the hat and it's meaning
One of my favorite installments to catch up on here on TH-cam. Keep on doing these videos as much as you can man. You have a good eye for detail and interesting spots and love seeing the history of the places just like me.
Enjoyed watching your video love the hat that was your grandpa's much a head happy new year Tampa Jay love ya looking forward to watching your next video ❤️ 📹 😊😅😂❤❤❤❤
Your voice reminds so much of Paul Harvey, when he would do The Rest of the Story. Would love to hear you recite those, or do your own version. We love these abandoned and roadside attraction videos that you do!
You look awesome in your grandpa’s cowboy hat 🤠 It’s fitting for your roadside adventures and abandoned places videos 👍 Love this series! Liked the area by the bridge and the scenery in last part of the video. These types of videos are my favorite to watch. You have a nice variety of different types of content for viewing. All are great 👍
You wear the hat well. I have a hat that my dad wore and after he died it became my festival hat as he passed on the week before Mardi Gras and I was living in Mobile. After that I wore it to festivals and concerts adorned with some beads from Mardi Gras.
I am sad they knocked down that old bar and restaurant. I will be driving by that used to be bar at yeehaw junction on January 25 for the classic car hotrod show at Westgate river ranch I be coming from Vero beach in my 57 chevy hardtop with about 20 guys in there hotrods thanks for showing us that great video.
Who knew there were so many places to explore,:). Very interesting indeed. There are quaint towns not abandoned around too, wondering if you would do exploring videos in those spots?
Hey Jay; Wondering if you've experienced the "Sugar Express" in Clewiston. Might make for some good content that falls into your wheelhouse and add to the Okeechobee series.
Worked for a medical equipment delivery company out of Broward County from 1995-1998. Made the long trip to Glades General many times. Definitely looked like the 1960s inside. Old and creepy. Especially at night.
Another great adventure and video. Who controls the swing bridge/how is it controlled? I didn't see anyone around. It also looks super narrow that not even a pontoon boat could get through there. Look forward to the next one.
The next time you go through Wauchula you might check out the old Hardee Memorial Hospital that's been abandoned since the early 1990's. It's also where the Twiggs and Mays baby swap took place in 1978. Supposedly it was done intentionally per a doctor's orders according to nurse's aid Patsy Webb.
The OReilly's bass boat you saw was legendary bass fisherman Roland Martin. That's his boat and he was probably either taking someone out fishing or out shooting content for his channel! Pretty cool you got that!!
whoa! look at the universal lining us up. That’s pretty cool. I’ll have to check his channel out. I’m happy you watched it and brought this to my attention! I used to do some fishing on my own. Thank you !
The building you thought was a pharmacy was a vocational rehabilitation office, that was a government funded program that helped people with mental and physical disabilities find jobs or to get grants or funding to get in to technical schools and college. I'm not sure if they still have Voc rehab programs anymore but they used to have offices all over the state.
Fort Lauderdale has a swing bridge over New River near sailboat bend. Not so much abandoned places in fort Lauderdale there's a lot of great things to see. I like it when you go to places I've already been it's nice to hear your perspective
I have crossed that little bridge in a 70,000 lbs truck. And Big Mound ( or Mound City ) is probably the Indian burial ground you mentioned. But it’s North-East of Belle Glade.
Jay. The prehistoric burial mounds are located just west of Belle Glade in Chosen which is known by many as the "Indian Mound." These sites were excavated by the Smithsonian Institution during the early 1930's and later by archeologists from the Florida State Museum in Gainesville.

Mound City is a big Indian Burial Ground in Palm Beach County.
It’s not west of Belle Glade
You look very nice in your grandpa’s hat. Hang on to all of your sweet memories. Where there was great love there is deep grief😢
I love your grandpa's hat! It only shows that he had excellent taste in clothes! The memories you had with him, will live on forever.
You look very handsome in your Grandpa's hat!

There is magic in those ghost towns, feel like something from distant past.

Great minds think alike! I was thinking that the abandoned hospital would make a great movie set!!📽🎬

Cool! I bet that hospital would be fun to explore. I can almost guarantee it has ghosts in it. Spooky 💀
Love the long-winded shots. Everything is so beautiful there. Hope to visit Florida one day, with my family.

Your voice reminds so much of Paul Harvey, when he would do The Rest of the Story. Would love to hear you recite those, or do your own version. We love these abandoned and roadside attraction videos that you do!
I so miss Florida 90 days or so and we will be back in town!
NOT Palm Beach County.

You wear the hat well. I have a hat that my dad wore and after he died it became my festival hat as he passed on the week before Mardi Gras and I was living in Mobile. After that I wore it to festivals and concerts adorned with some beads from Mardi Gras.
Where the truck hit the building, is that the same one Adam the Woo sites a couple of times?
I was born and raised in Belle glade . That place was the sugar mill
😊Very enjoyable video ❤
thank you appreciate you
I really enjoyed your video. Love his hat cherish forever..
Miss all you guys going to the Desert Inn! Too bad it never got fixed up, probably cost way too much 😢
The Belle Glade hospital is listed for sale at $7,500,000.00. It sits on 14.71 acres. It was called Glades General Hospital.
It was bought several years ago by Passages Malibu for $1.5 million. They had thoughts on rehabbing it but apparently that never happened
And the local law enforcement watch it very carefully
Who knew there were so many places to explore,:). Very interesting indeed. There are quaint towns not abandoned around too, wondering if you would do exploring videos in those spots?

I appreciate you linking the previous videos, we are bracing for snow here in South Jersey, not sure if I’m going to work tomorrow yet
Dig the hat!

South Bay the biggest speed trap in the state of Florida. Don't blink or you'll miss it.

Central Florida Highland Games and the Brevard Rennaissance Festival are happening this month. Just saying. Seems like 2 events right up your alley.
They used to have a Americana and bluegrass festival next to the inn.
