    I have a $90,000 portfolio that I've been working on for 5 years, but lately the volatility in the market scares me... Is the bull market over? I'm thinking about moving my investments to safer options like a hysa or T-bills. What do you think?

      It depends on your goals-whether you're looking to grow your money, earn income, keep your savings safe, or how much risk you can handle and how close you are to retirement.

      Accurate asset allocation is crucial with an Experts guidance. I have 850k in equity, 75 cash earning 5.25 interest, 685k in roth ira, 120k in 401k, Gold and silver bars. age is 48. My advisr helped me realign my portfolio to my risk tolerance and it boomed shortly.

    LIGHT
    I stumbled upon your content because my wife and I have always invested in properties (since 2010 and have amassed a good portfolio). We’ve never invested in stocks because of a lack of understanding and not feeling in control. We just had our first grand daughter and we’ve opened up an account (under our name) that is linked to an offset account and we transfer $140/fortnight into it.
    I’ve been doing research to start investing her money to take advantage of compounding interest until she turns 18. Sitting in an offset, we’re the ones taking advantage of the reward, and she would have about $65k when she turns 18. If we were to put it in an ETF, she would have more money by that time.
    Thanks so much for all your great content…it does make a difference to people that don’t have much understanding of the subject…and yes, I’ve watch the other video on investing in shares for your child (this instance grand child)
    Again, thank you and keep up the good work!

    Great video - very well explained. I've owned shares directly for some years but new to ETFs. Would appreciate a breakdown of any difference between dividend payments vs ETF distributions, and anything to watch for on the tax side. LIGHT!

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've got a few tax related videos but I'll make more in future. Dividends and distributions are similar but the main difference is one is paid before tax and one after tax. You also report the dividend tax in different areas if you're using MyTax for your tax return. There could be some differences in franking credits too.

    Hi Bryan,
    I recently come across your channel and fall in love with how informative, simple and straight to the point your videos are. Great work on the videos!
    I do want to ask what are you opinions on A200 vs VAS. As A200 has reduced their management fee to 0.04%. Also your thoughts on VOO etf on US s and p 500.

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Khaing Myat! Glad you like my videos.
      Yes, A200 is now 0.04% and VAS has reduced theirs to 0.07%. I’ve always been a fan of Vanguard so I’m happy to pay the extra fees which in the grand scheme of things, isn’t that much. Plus I like the extra diversification with 300 companies vs 200. However, just pick the one you like. In the long term, the performance should be very similar.
      The S&P 500 is the benchmark of the entire US stock market. So if they are doing well then America is doing well. VOO is the the US version of the ETF but you will have to worry about foreign taxes and currency. If you want an Australian domiciled ETF that tracks the S&P500 then look at something like IVV. They are domiciled in Aussie dollars meaning you can set up auto dividend reinvestments and it’s easier to work out taxes.
      By the way, are you Burmese?

    Thank you for your straight forward education for beginners. Brilliant. I have joined interactive brokers because of there fees but find it difficult to navigate (I will persist to learn how to use ineractive brokers). I will also join an Austalian broker and buy some passive EFT straight away. Question-I live in Australia and want to know. By buying in inteactive brokers will this effect my tax when i retire or do i have to buy through a Australian broker.
    I am a home investor but now realise after fees(rates,maintenance, tax, land tax etc...) it no where compares to long term passive ETFS. I LOVE the idea of buy and leave-Taking into account most Australians do not go past 3 or 5 homes. Only 1% reach that magical number. I am very disciplined so using yout Dollar Cost Average Stratergy is simple and keeps one on track.

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Michelle, don't worry if you're using Interactive Broker Australia then it will be the same tax wise as any of the other Australian brokers. As for Real Estate vs Shares, I agree. Shares are easier to manage and saves a lot of time and stress. Good luck with your journey ☺

    Hi there. You have been an inspiration man. I wonder, if I have set up my dividends using DRP, can I still put in a portion of my income as more investment to my purchased ETF on a regular basis? I mean if I have already purchased a share of VAS, do I have to manually buy more VAS as I get my salary,say, 500 dollars every month? Or is there a smarter way to avoid management fee, similar to how DRP doest?

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks man! No, you cannot add your own money into a DRP, although it would be nice! Yes, you would have to manually buy more shares of VAS to add to your portfolio. The best way to save fees is to buy in larger increments. If you pay $3 for a $100 share. You would essentially losing 3% of the share value from the start. However, if it's $3 for $1,000 of shares then it would only be 0.3%.

    Hi Bryan. Silly question...
    I still don't understand how Compound Interest works with shares.
    I know it happens, but I want to know HOW it happens.
    Say you buy 1 share at 100 bucks.
    It goes up to 150 the next year.
    Yes, you have a Capital Gain of 50 bucks. But you haven't physically gained anything in the bank, until you sell, right?
    All you have is one share in the stock market.
    And reinvesting your dividends, only buys more shares.
    So where does the interest part come in?

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that is correct mate. It's all paper gain. But that is the point. If you sell, then how can you portfolio compound?
      Compound interest is your portfolio getting bigger. The 'interest' is a combination of the gains from share price increase and dividends. Say you invest in an ETF that returns 8% per year (3% from dividends & 5% from share price). That 8% is your interest rate. The dividend you receive is buying you more shares. And those shares are continually growing in price. It's a combination of all these things that's creating the 'interest'. Hope that makes more sense.

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks mate. Yeah, 8% is usually the average return you can expect in the long term. However, just be aware it's a historical return only and it's not guaranteed. But it is generally accepted that 8% is a good guide.

    What is the minimum dollar amount you can buy per transaction?
    Ie can you just buy 1 or 2 VAS stocks ?

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If using a chess sponsored broker (like Stake), you need to purchase at least $500 every time you purchase a stock for the first time. After the initial purchase, you can buy in lower parcels. This is called the minimum marketable parcel rule. So you won’t be able to just buy a few shares of VAS. Has to be at least $500 worth at first then you can buy in lower quantity after.

    • @BryanInvest

      I don't believe there are any brokers that use fractional shares for Australian stocks. It's a US thing. You can just DCA to the nearest share unit cost. For example, it doesn't have to be $1,000 per month right to the cent. Most brokers don't offer auto DCA so you'll be manually buying your shares anyway. And most will round up or down your shares based on how much you want to invest.

    Another awesome video, so glad I found you from the ubank video =P, quick question mate, if your looking at long term investing 20-30 years, is there much difference between a platform like stake compared to vanguard directly to buy vghg fund etc? Or buying EFT over the managed vanguard ones? I see the benefits for EFTs if you want to change them quickly but long term I want to do what you said, monthly deposits and don’t touch them.

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate! No, there isn't much difference (performance wise) other than flexibility. Buying from Chess Sponsored Broker like Stake allows you to transfer the shares, auto reinvest the dividends, among other things. Vanguard Personal Investor is quite biased to Vanguard products only. If you really are planning to just invest in a single Vanguard ETF then it should be fine. As for ETFs vs Managed Funds, there won't be much difference performance wise. ETFs are just a little more flexible and liquid.

    • @BryanInvest

      Yes, that is correct. The whole point of the stock market is buy low and sell high. Usually the longer the time frame, the higher chance it will go up. However, nothing is guaranteed and we are just looking at the historical data and hoping it repeats itself.

    Quick question - Is there a reasonable amount tat you think should be invested every month

    • @BryanInvest

      Depends on your income. I read that 15% of your income is a good target. In the end, just invest what you can afford to lose for long time. Pretend you won’t see that money for several decades. Then if you’re okay with amount, that’s your ‘reasonable’ amount.

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Joe, yeah unfortunately all brokers charge FX fees these days. That's the main way they make money on US stocks. Stake used to allow USD deposits from Transferwise but have since stopped. I haven't found any brokers that allow USD deposits in Australia. The best we can do is find brokers with the lowest FX fees. If you don't mind using other brokers then I think Moomoo and Webull are the best options right now in terms of general fees. You can check out my review videos on them on my video list. They also have some nice sign up bonuses for a limited time as well. Good luck!

      Do you mean investing in another S&P500 ETF similar to VOO but listed on the Australian stock exchange?
      If so, the Aussie equivalent is IVV and the performance should be similar but the only issue is currency fluctuations since the ETF is in AUD. You could potentially invest in IHVV which is hedge version that will remove the currency risk. These aren’t buy recommendations, I’m just using them as examples. Please do your own research.
