Because it's flat and boring. Also idk about you but I get enough of looking at screens between my work and hobbies. When I'm in the performance automotive realm I'm looking for more of a mechanical analog type connection to the machine. It's why I bought a WRX STI. It was practically the last manual performance car available with physical gauges.
Someone will figure it out. C8 was said to be very hard to tune but here they are twin turboing it 😂 someone will break that firewall
Ford is going racing again. The Dark Horse 5.0 engine has significant internal upgrades over the the GT 5.0 , so I suspect there will be a higher horsepower version mid year or in 2025. I will wait till then.
Before I spend 60,000 or more on a new GT Mustang I'll find a sweet 2013 or 2014 GT 500 much more collectable and desirable !
My 17 GT350 makes 526HP from the factory and is NA, so the dark horse is not the most powerful NA mustang.

You have a 5.2 , Ford clearly states the 5.0 at 500hp is the highest the 5.0 has ever produced.

The Darkhorse is NOT "the most powerful naturally aspirated Mustang ever". Darkhorse has 500 horsepower.
The 2020 Shelby GT350 (also naturally aspirated) was 526 horsepower.
F-150 is encrypted too. But you can still get a tune for a brand new F-150, there are just fewer tuning options which will hopefully weed out some of the hack tuners out there

@@sendysent a 2018 5.0 can hopefully be fitted with this new dual throttle body intake and tuned to produce same power.
I'll take the computer hacker anyday, over the Ford encrypted hacker-proof software for tuning in the aftermarket.

This might be the last performance car available with the other manufacturers halting their performance cars at this price point. I think it deserves a more accurate description if it is to be the best of the longest running and arguably the first affordable performance car made. I get adding visuals to key in on the info being given. But why would you use a HEMI Pro Stock engine(1:56) with dual Mag ignition distributors that has never been used in a stock Ford car? The 2017 GT350 5.2l was NA with 526hp so why is the Dark Horse given credit for most horsepower? Definitely the most horsepower from a 5.0l but not of the Coyote design overall. The 5.2l in the GT350 still has that title. And which is it the S560 or S650? You called it both. And "Rev" option on "all" models even with manual trans?? But also, how can the 2001 Bullitt rival the Dark Horse? I'm having a hard time thinking that every Mustang for the last 22yrs can't rival the 2001 Bullitt?! Not even the latest Bullitt or the Mach 1's?. I'll be honest and say I'm not a expert on what's coming in way of new cars but I do hold a little knowledge about Ford Mustangs over the years and I'm certain that there are some issues on the info given but I'm sure it was just a oversight....
That bullit handling statement was weird. Every generation of Mustang starting with the S197 in 2005 could outhandle that car.
Have an 04 SVT Cobra terminator in garage black on black. It's a garage queen. Will have a '24 Mustang GT 5.0L w/track package/6spd ZF manual next to it as daily driver. Kudos Ford Motor! Great job.
@@Davido50 A guy I used to work with has a 04 same as yours he's selling. I've had two GT/CS's with Coyotes that I will miss. Damn Covid cost me my dream car. I think Toyota might have a engine to fort the 5.0l and it runs on hydrogen. Keep an eye out for it.

Not the S197, Thé S197 has Open diff and solid axle while the cobra sn-95 has IRS and a LSD.
@@aimxdy8680 for one, they were talking about the 2001 bullitt which has a live axle. They were not talking about the 2003-2004 Cobras which were the only Mustangs until 2015 to have an independent rear suspension but it added a hundred pounds and wasn't all that great. Some people took them off and installed live axles on them.
Only V6 S197's had an open differential. All GT's had a limited slip differentials
The SN-95's were not built very well. The 2005's on up were a huge step ahead. I own a 2004 SN-95 and a 2007 GT.
I wish manufacturers would stop putting so much unneeded technology into the cars. Why do we need a huge touch screen? What is wrong with buttons and knobs?

I just bought the 2024 Eco Boost Premium with extras and I noticed the all digital screens get very warm...if not hot. In the summer in direct sunlight I wonder if they overheat.
If a person doesn't like the new changes I guess they are haters. Well I think it looks like crap. The front end, the two lap top displays yuk! But I drive a 2014 Shelby GT500 with tach and speedometer in their correct positions. No wonder the Challenger is out selling the Mustang - two years in a row.....
The Challenger is done after this year.
@@3644Darrell it is but I agree with the OP’s point. When SVT went by the wayside Dodge’s SRT rose up and kicked Ford up and down the block in sales with their line up of niche vehicles. Allegedly they killed off both the challenger and charger to focus on electric vehicles but I think a lot of it had to do with both cars ridiculously high theft rate.
The interior to me just looks cheap.

My order is in for gen7 '24 Mustang GT 5.0L w/track package/ ZF 6spd. Black on black! The proven Gen2- 2.3L GTDI engine would be fine though for 90% ppl. Nice daily driver/great MPG's etc.

You can tune brand new Ford encrypted vehicles. It took about a year for the F-150 to be tunable and ford worked with livernois to make it happen. They said the same thing is going to happen with the mustang.

Those screens are both awesome and horrific. They look very distracting for the driver. It will be interesting to sit in one of these cars and see for myself.
I couldn’t agree more. My thoughts exactly. With all the distractions out there I can at least “feel” my way around the “old school” knobs and buttons in my vehicle without taking my eyes off the road. That’s out the window here in addition to the added need to have to clean the screen every so often.

I think chevy sold ford the camaro alpha chasis platform ..it sure does look similar to a camaro to me..especially the stance and the fenders.
Absolutely not. The chassis is very similar to the previous s550 and the fenders are mostly unchanged. The thing that makes it look like a camaro is the way the rear is more chizled than the previous gen.
Although, I would love it if they used the alpha chassis because it is an amazing chassis.

@@Dynoids I think his comment was tongue in cheek. Just saying that the new mustang looks like the love child of a 6th generation Camaro and mustang. And I agree it does look a lot like a Mustmaro. And that's a good thing. Hopefully it will close the handling and performance gap too.

If it can prevent hacking, it can remotely allow hacking. The car will never truly be yours.
For me, there are just soo many negatives about the next gen Mustain to even consider it. Some of the things are, it looks like a Camaro, there's way too much plastic, and the interior looks like crap especially the dash.
Ford has put more hp in a car prior, maybe it was Roush or Shelby. With 5.0 supercharger twin turbo polished and ported you can at least put out 1000 hp. It’s similar to the Dodge Viper throwing twin turbos putting out 1300 horsepower, stock motor with big turbos 1300 horsepower. Why can’t you pull out 1000 horsepower ?
Headlights and taillights are kind of all the same across all platforms here. The "S650" chassis that is.....
Side note I'm watching the sales on GT350 and Mach 1 cars..
Should come with a rear walking-beam suspension option.

I hate the trend that the hood in modern cats don't go all the way to the front. It is cut off and there's a lip in the front. Personally I think this is stupid, unanesthetic and a design flaw.

I just say thank god American muscle stays true like the Chevy corvette and the ford mustang. American V8’s there’s no replacement for displacement and the exhaust note is unbelievable. Thank you Ford and Chevy staying true to muscle car buyers. Oh and good by dodge with their hurricane V6.

The Focus RS has a 2.3L that has 350 horsepower. So this is not the most powerful 2.3L yet

Wonder if Ford will honor warranty claims from abuse of the drivetrain by drifting made possible by the electronic parking brake?
@@mutemaids Ford states competitive events and driver abuse voids their warranty. Non competitive, untimed open track events are an exception, but not time trials, drag racing or even autocross, so I can't see abuse damage from "admitted" drifting being covered. I personally would at least try to fight a claim denial when features are added and promoted to enhance competitive abilities.

What the h*** is a dark horse? SMH...Created by a teenage focus group for teenagers, ready to drift in the middle of an intersection and Install neon under glow... The computer has already been cracked into by the way, many tuners are already in it, it's the Fly-by-night Tuners,like laund racing with a tuner down in the Saint Andrew's apartment, that does the tuning in their spare bedroom, under a 30 watt light bulb who can't get into the ECU.

I’m a Retired Person on Fixed Income and can Barely afford a Base EcoBoost. With the switch to Hi Profit Vehicles the New Vehicle will be Beyond Affordability. I don’t believe in Buying someones Used cars and After I sell a Car which has Been Properly Maintained I would Never Buy that same car back after another Owner who may not have Maintained it.. MAIN PROBLEMS are TOO HIGHTECH & High COSTS..
The ecu tuning lockout is ridiculous. We buy these cars to mod them. Why the fxck would take that away from your customer base ? The more they create dedicated software for the technology in today's cars, the worse it actually gets to own. They're forcing us to buy the premium for the power. You cant even use an aftermarket ECU yet because the transmission will lock you out. Build your own cars bois
Im sorry but that is a remodified camaro!! Lol..look at the fenders the only thing that looks different is the front end and back end.. thats why the camaro is going away! They sold their plans to ford! Even copied the Brembo brake package..and the grille on the hood looks similar.. if they did then the mustang should handle pretty good now..

There's nothing futuristic about those joined screens on the dash. It looks like its glued to the dash on the bottom of the screen done by joe blo at the local shop! You're also going to have people trying to fiddle with all that as they're driving! Bad for everyone around them! The screen has to go! Make a proper dashboard with the touchscreen with screen lockout as you're driving! Also the new GT500 is rumored to have 800+ HP not 750HP out of 5.4L motor. We'll see but it wont have less HP than the last GT500.
