  • I came across this incredible underground channel when paddling from Staffin Bay to Kilmaluag on the Isle of Skye. I couldn’t pass it by without exploring it. I hope you enjoy.
    Camera: GoPro Max
    Kayak: Big Pond Kayaks, “Mannta”.

I love watching these videos Nick. They remind why the west coast of Scotland is the most beautiful place in the world, and they provide welcome respite from the ugliness of world events.

    Beautiful sea caves.
What a treat it is to wait for your videos.

Fantastic clip 👏 I was getting a bit claustro, and needed a huge breath of air as I watched you paddle back out again! 😮

You're a better man than I! Paddled on my own into a cave on Skye on an evening even flatter than this and ended up having to swim out. Gave me a scare. Lost my favourite paddling hat too.

Agh, that’s a pity. I lost my favourite cap mid way through my trip - it’s quite a loss isn’t it. I hope you still explore when you can. Best wishes.

My heart was racing just watching it ! Another great video Nick. Surprised that cave as never been used in feature films ( great set for a Star Trek movie). Look forward to your future trips.

Thank you. It was the first proper cave I paddled into on the journey, so it felt very exciting. By he time I'd paddled around Skye, I think I'd been into nearly fifty caves! Great fun.

It's good to see snips of your trip. Caves are always worth exploring if the conditions are right. Your idea on what is 'right' is a bit more adventurous than mine though.

Thank you though I think I’m more foolhardy. All the best.

All alone in that choppy cave. Strong nerves you have.

It did take a little bit of nerve but I was confident in my kayak and the sea wasn't too rough.

I paddled into a cave/blowhole on Pappa Storr years ago...nearly got impaled when a rogue wave came in😮

Papa Stour is high on my places to visit. That must have been an exciting moment.

Brilliant clip, thanks. Very inspiring as usual Nick. The care that you take before and in this kind of situation is very noticeable.

Was a lot going on in that cave compared to others and I was thinking gotta ask if you felt relieved when exiting it then all of a sudden you answered my question 😊
Another great film Nick and loved the cliffs when exiting.
The unknown can be very scarey but also the most wonderful thing eh 😊

Thank you Bob - I'm always curious, wondering what's around the corner, can it be done and can I do it.
