Gayle, the best shafts are the same ones that come with the jacuzzi. They are 3mm diameter by 72 mm long Zirconia ceramic rods. They can be purchased on eBay. The only problem is that the rods come at 100 mm in length and have to be cut down to 72 mm to work. Zirconia is very hard and cannot be cut with a normal saw. You will need to ask someone who has a diamond tile saw to trim the rod for you. I hope this helps.
