Ketel Marte baseball IQ is insane. He’s so aware in defense and does little things people don’t really notice. Always been a good hitter and comes clutch in big moments. Imagine is the mariners would’ve kept him.
Ketel is a combination of offense and defense. Dude usually has a WAR of 3 or more

Dbacks are playing with house money moving forward. They have performed way beyond expectations this year. This experience is going to propel all the young guys like Carroll, Thomas, Pfatt, Saalfrank, etc. with invaluable high pressure game experience moving forward into their careers. These guys are all getting better for next year.

Many will say Brewers were not very good but their division is way more tough than our pathhetic West. Remember AZ led the West for half the year. I hope they can take out the Dodgers but maybe the money wants a Braves/Dodgers showdown...lets see.

Anything can in a five game series
I was 7 when I moved here in '05, I got into sports a few years later when the Cardinals went on their playoff run and then a year or two later started watching the Suns and Dbacks. There hasn't been too much to truly celebrate when your teams rarely see the playoffs let alone win in the postseason, but this is why I support AZ sports and why I love a good underdog story. While I'm prepared to get my dreams crushed as usual in this AZ Sports HELL..I hope the Snakes say otherwise and SHOCK THE WORLD 🎉

@@joshuafischer41042017 was just one wild card game against the Rockies and they got swept by the Dodgers in the NLDS. Kind of weird they lost so bad because they were pretty stacked that year JD Martinez, Peralta, Ahmed, Marte and some good pitching.

Gourriel was traded to AZ for Varsho and it seems it paid well. Varsho was .000 AVG in the postseason in 5 AB. He was a .220/.285/.674 in the regular season.
Meanwhile Gourriel was a .261/.309/.772
On top, AZ got prospect Gabriel Moreno, who had a very decent .284/.339/.747 offensive stat for the Dbacks.
That is what I call a bad trade for Toronto.
Plus Moreno's arm behind the plate has been fantastic.

I truly understand that the Blue Jays wanted to get something good out of Moreno, as they already had Jansen and Kirk behind the plate, but man... him AND Gurriel for Varsho was a shot in the foot since day 1. That's close to a Jordan Alvarez or Aaron Judge trading value.
@@alxm1271 Toronto wanted a lefty in the lineup because they were so right hand loaded. Since they initiated the trade and the DBacks didn't really want to get rid of Varsho it cost the Blue Jays. Turns out the DBacks really needed Moreno and Gourriel overperformed. I saw Jays fans at the time happy to have him go. Guess he made some bad plays or didn't like the dugout distractions. He's fitting like a glove in AZ though.

Side note: I preferred the single game format. It was unbelievably intense! It also really incentivized winning the division over just sneaking in with a wild card spot.

As a Brewers fan, this sweep doesn't surprise me. This team is not built for the playoffs, too many rookies and a very poor clutch hitting team and very streaky hitters.

@@cameronmeinhart we have a few promising guys in the minors, but I have a feeling we are a few years away from being back in the post season convo. I believe Burnes and Woodruff have pitched their last games as Brewers. Yelich bounced back a bit this year, but what we are paying him and his production is a small market team killer. We need the 30+ homer 90+ rbi Yelich. The 15 homer 70 rbi Yelich over the last couple of years isn’t gonna cut it at 25% of the teams payroll.

The playoffs are all about peaking at the right moment. This D-backs team is doing just that. They just might be able to give the Dodgers a run for their money.
This series showed us what happens when a team wants to win compared to a team that doesn't. The Brewers were the more talented team, theres no doubt about it, but the D backs had some clutch hits, clutch pitching, and didnt give up, while the Brewers left so many runners in scoring position, hung way to many pitches, and had no life late in games. The D backs deserve to advance and the Brewers deserve to get eliminated. Good series win for the Diamondbacks.
I disagree about the talent. The bottom of the Brewers order are easy outs. That's all they needed were fly balls many times to get runs and whiffing like crazy.
the Brewers lineup is not as talented as the Dbacks lineup so disagree there. defense is equal, pitching depth is more or less equal, Dbacks bullpen is better.
Dbacks won 84 games but you have to also keep in mind they cut 6 atrocious players from their roster throughout the season including Madison Bumgardner and Zach Davies their 3 and 4 starters who were automatic losses any time they pitched
This dbacks team was more like a 90-92 win team talent wise that was held back by several players that were some of the worst in the league (Mad Bum, Davies, Carson Kelly, Nick Ahmed, etc) at their positions.

I was at this game the Brewers had a bad inning and gave up. Don't feel sorry for them they still get paid millions of dollars and now get a long vacation from now until February while everyone else has got to go back to work every day.
