My favorite organizational tip is to keep a hand-written (hard copy) list of all the items I source. After I process and list an item I highlight that item on my hard copy list. This helps me keep track of which items have been listed and which items are still outstanding. My business is still small and slowly expanding (and evolving), so I’m sure going fully digital will work better in the future, but for now I do what’s working for me!
Inventory Management System from daily refinement with pre bagging and numbering items and working left to right. Also I worked at Starbucks for a few months to learn the processes they have on efficiency. I’ve set up my shipping station to be like the barista station with everything needed standard and right in front of me. I applied the sizing system to poly bags and have them be a uniform color just like the uniform cups at Starbucks. They have people dedicated to designing the drink sequencing flow so I figured I’d replicate it for shipping.
My favorite process is my inventory Que. As soon as I get My Item's home I lay them flat one on top of the other so that when I get to them they are wrinkled free.
You guys are giving me so much inspiration. Thank you. I’m a part time reseller w/ adhd and struggle w/ organization so seeing how you systematize everything is so helpful. Thanks!!
I keep a spreadsheet with each item listed. Column 1 copy and paste eBay title Column 2 date purchased Column 3 where purchased Column 4 amount I paid for item Column 5 date listed Column 6 Date sold Column 7 amount sold for Column 8 shipping paid by customer Column 9 FInal Value Fee Column 10 Promoted Listing Fee Column 11 shipping paid by me Column 12 Net I have it formulated to the following: amount sold + shipping received - fvf - shipping - cogs - promoted fee to get the net per item.
Loved this!! Great job!! One thing I started doing is taking pics of things in the thrift store I don't have time to research/comp. Then later in the day when I'm kicked back playing on my phone I go through the pics and do the research/comps to see if I should go back and pick up that item. 3 out of 5 times the items are still there the next day or two. This works for me because luckily I live about 5 mins from my closest thrift store and about 30 mins from my most favorite store. This has helped me learn a ton and given me a second chance at items I passed up because I didn't have time or a strong enough internet connection in the store.
My inventory/sales spreadsheet is my favorite thing! It always feels good to move something from the inventory to the sold page! Plus I have it set up to give me my numbers at the end of each month and running totals for the year. It make it so easy to give my tax guy my numbers when it comes time for that, I don't have to scramble for them!
Great video as usual. I started using the month number system a while ago when you explained it. For color system, I use a mnemonic system to remember what’s coming up… Oh Girl You Better Remember….. orange, green, yellow, blue, red…
Great video! I really liked the tip about printing out a list of all items that are in the "drafts" of your listings. This will be a must for me when I scale up someday. Right now I'm fairly new to re-selling, but I'm learning a lot from both of you - so thank you! My favorite organizational tool that I utilize in my business is definitely my shipping table / station. My husband helped me build the table, and I store all of my boxes and poly mailers under it. On top I have my desktop tape dispenser, GAME CHANGER for anyone that doesn't have one of these. I used a tape gun for my first couple of months because I didn't know better lol! Scissors, sharpie, and Thank You stickers also live on top of the table. Above it we hung curtain rod for my rolls of packing paper and bubble wrap (I sell mostly clothes but am dabbling in hard goods as well). It has made my life so much easier, and streamlined the packing & shipping processes for me. I appreciate the video, you both are extremely knowledgeable and helpful!
Hi guys! I am in Ohio too! Loved the video. I have found that when I started listing more consistently it has helped tremendously. Even if I list only 10 items every day, the every day listing is the key for me. I see a drop in my sales if I do not list everyday. I currently have list perfectly, but I would love a free month. Please put me in the giveaway!
My favorite organization strategy is I use an excel spreadsheet to track my inventory. I also have tabs for each month of what sold, how much I paid, how much I sold it for, when I listed, when it sold, etc. It's really great to have a month by month visual! Love you ladies! Thank you for the great tips!!
When I watched this video 5 months ago it might as well have been in a different language because it didn’t make sense. Now? I am just amazed because now it all makes more sense to me.
Things are getting tough here in my neck of the woods guys with Thrift Stores other than Goodwill being pretty bare bones (used to overflow) and Goodwill here just increased their prices...$12-dresses $19.99-shoes $7.59 LS Shirts 6.59 SS Shirts....I'm going to have to start shopping outside the area to get deals that I can flip. Don't get me wrong...the color tag of the week helps but even that is pushing it....looking at Estate Sales and driving out of the area....
My favorite organization skill is I have a complete inventory sheet. It includes the sku number, measurements, description, weight. We have a virtual employee and this helps her a lot.
Thank you for the great video! You ladies inspire me to become more organized in my daily systems. Like they say...."work smarter not harder." Starting an organized inventory system has been a real game changer for me. Everything has a home and is easy to find. This makes my business and life so much easier!!
Love the day of the week tubs and sourcing goals. This seems to be the missing key for me to be consistent and consistently grow my store. Love the eagle tattoo too!
Hello! I am in Canada. I just discovered you through Mrs Parks channel and am so grateful to both her and you. Your information is priceless. I have many many many (you get the idea) thousands of items I need to list. I currently have 2200 listed. It’s a long story😅. Your information is so helpful! I am an avid fan and will make sure everyone else knows about you as well!
You ladies really have your systems dialed in and that’s why youre so DARN AMAZING!!!! I learn so much and will be using your code for list perfectly. I’m a posher first ….scared of eBay but im gonna do it cause youre basically GIVING me everything I need to know. Thank you!!
I have recently started using bins to hold my incoming inventory. (Definitely going to use that sheet method!) But I also have a rolling rack. To keep track of things that need stain treated or repaired. So it does not sit in a pile for weeks and that is never touched. It's always right in my way. So if I have some time I can pull from it and make the repair or wash everything together.
Thanks for sharing all the knowledge!!! My gamer changer in my business is everyday when I'm printing my shipping labels I have a notebook next to my Rollo and I write down each sale the item, the price sold, the platform it sold their fees, and where I got rhe item and the cost of goods. Thus one step has made it so easy for me to be organized come tax season or just to look back month to month at my progress in sales. This was my new years resolution and I have stuck with it!!!!!
Ladies….thank you for this. I’ve been subscribed to you and to List Perfectly for a while now. I just used your code last month to get started on the LP pro plan. I am LOVING it. The process that has saved me time recently is counter intuitive for me as is like to see the details of a sale including the breakdown of the COGS, selling price, fees, shipping, profit, etc. But….recording all of that is soooooo time consuming. So for a bit now, I’ve stopped. I still keep all receipts and keep track of overall COGS, sales, fees, expenses: etc. But I no longer break it down per item…I’m looking at each month as whole now and then will combine all my months for taxes. I miss seeing al the details but it is saving sooooo much time.
Ever changing work in progress. As our business grows. The absolute best thing is simply tracking with bins , prepacked, r-t-s, in custom sku.working hard to get to a full time reseller, as I currently am working Full time.
The best things I have implemented in my business were copied from you guys. For instance, scheduled listings has changed my life! I keep a simple, informal calendar making check marks on each day next to sales and where they sold, and how many I listed and how many I scheduled. If I scheduled it gets a check mark on today and also a check mark next to Listings on the date it was scheduled. It’s an accountability tool and it helps me see how increases in listings equate to sales down the road.
Good Morning!!! You are the winner of this giveaway. Please send me an email at welltraveledclothiers@gmail.com. I will give you a code word to respond with in a comment here on TH-cam. This is just to verify it's you. 😊
List perfectly is a game changer!! I just started adding my Ebay inventory to LP today. I believe it's going to help tremendously. I started using photo room to remove backgrounds and I'm totally digging on PHOTO ROOM as well. You 2 are beautiful and full of helpful information. Thank you for taking the time to share everything. Have a fantabulous weekend 💜🌈🥰🦚🌞
I love the listing date tracking system you have using the last number in the price. You all have ao many great ideas! One e of the most informative videos I've seen on reselling, thank you!!
Thank you ladies, I have learned so much from this video....I appreciate you very much....I have a system but it's more of remembering where I put the items and I group like items together, but the way you all do it seems like where I was trying to get to but I didn't know how....thank you again for your insight 😀
Great content...I love the way yall are growing and organized things. My favorite is the racks and Ben system...from putting items in and skus to label the Ben. Nothing like looking for items you can't find. This by far changed. My reselling life...going through each one to make sure items are where they are supposed to be ....♡ I haven't crosslisted and keep debating other platforms, I'd love to win myself. Hope to catch yall on another q&a live soon.
OMG I freaking love Y’all. I came across your video through a search and am so excited to follow this channel. Thank you for explaining your systems so well. I am a new reseller and have been struggling trying to get my business organized and you amazing laddies have inspired me.
Great video as usual! I would say my favorite new process I've developed for my resell business would be my new "shipping table". I finally made an area that has all of my shipping supplies with my new thermal printer, shipping tape, scissors etc all in one area. Before I was having to go to 2-3 different areas to complete shipping. Thank you for the awesome giveaway, would love to try LP out. :)
Love the video! I use a spreadsheet to keep track of inventory and solds. Also write on a calendar how many listing I do a day to keep me accountable. I have list perfectly but don’t use it as often as I should.
With the space I have available, I'm thinking I need to stick to Jean Wear for awhile until I can build up to a larger building. I was thinking of buying two semi-trailers. One for storage and one to set the shop up in.
Great video! Love the pricing structure to keep track when items have been listed. My best organizational tool is my shipping station. All my packing supplies, boxes, bags, scale, label printer, etc are together and within arms reach to make packing and shipping super quick and easy.
I have never tried List Perfectly yet however it has been something I have been seriously considering. It would be great to be able to try it out for free. My favorite organization system I use is my spreadsheet that I was able to download for free from Ginger Marvin. It's been very helpful and will save me alot of time and hassle come next tax season. Great video ladies as always... I really appreciate all of your valuable content.
Great video! I love all your ideas! I have a similar spreadsheet and as I’m listing I copy and paste my title to it so when someone makes me an offer and I’m not sure about it I can search it really quick to see how much I paid. I have like 400 j crew tops so I had to come up with something haha.
How do you know what the "new color" is so you know which tag to look for? Thanks for the info on the 50% and items that have been sitting!! I never thought of that!
We try to find a new rack and see what color tabs are on the clothing they are putting out. If not, we look for clusters hanging at the ends of the aisles.
My inventory bins have letters, I found numbers on amazon. I put them on the poly bags watching tvto use for my items. When I put items up them in letter bin each week I print off the list place on front of bin so when items sale I can find it.
Thanks! I was wondering if you could help me…😆I am so frozen rn on how to do my inventory I have about 95 listed items that need to be numbered and organized. I have the bins, the consecutive number stickers, and all the poly bags ready but wondering…do you re-use your numbers on each item after they are sold or just keep growing the numbers and consolidate? Also, is there a separate numbering/system for your hanging clothes and shoes or are they numbered along with the poly bagged items in bins? I did see in your last inventory video you simply labeled them closet 1 or 2 and so on though. I am torn on if I should be simply numbering all my items consecutively according to when I listed on eBay whether it’s a hung up coat or shoes…or to label them separately since they are in a different place…I am definitely over thinking this 😂I just want to avoid re-doing this system in the future.
Hi! Anything that can fit in our small clear bags we use the #s and we do reuse #s. So if an item sells we write down that sku onto a new label to be reused for newly listed items. Our bulk items we just hang up or throw in a tote. Everything in that tote will then have the same sku (whatever we label the tote as). Hope this makes sense!
@@cayleyelaine yes it makes sense! Thanks so much for real, it’s been nagging at me so hard 😆 I can now clean up the piles in my living room waiting to be numbered😂. I know different things work for different ppl but I’ll try that. You have helped so much with your videos and is partly why I’m even this successful to be having to do inventory 💖 Much Love and Respect
Hey ladies love this video. I am a new reseller who has not actually started so I do not have a process, but I have taken away alot from this video! would love to try list perfectly!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Do you have a video on how you pack and ship? With them being in individual bags, I worry about whinkles. Do you steam before you ship out? I don't have a steamer yet. Ring light is coming today 😊
Below is a link to a video where I talk about ebay shipping. I don't worry about wrinkles because most people are going to wash the item before wearing. th-cam.com/video/SIezM7ckbRA/w-d-xo.html
@cayleyelaine thank you for these awesome videos! I've been following you and watching your vids from my personal account for awhile and I love how transparent and educational you are especially for newer resellers who are working with limited budgets, it's much appreciated!!!! I am currently in the process of redoing my business model & inventory system and transitioning from live selling back to listing more because the higher end inventory I have does better in static sales then live sales I've seen (although i enjoy live selling, dont think this will be my main source at the moment any longer). Also, I'm in the process of creating a custom SKU / inventory management system for myself and thinking about transitioning away from Sheets because what I have now isn't working the best but none of the other accounting/inventory systems I've researched so far have the capabilities I'm looking for so hesitant to make an investment and might just make my own custom one. Last, do you have any videos on your photography set up? I know you mention the process in it but also in the market for refining that process as well. Thanks so much again!!!
What size are the shelves? And what max size bin can you put on them? I’m having a hard time telling in the dimensions when going to order some how much space is between the poles and how large a bin can fit two per shelf. Thanks
It is better to list the same amount every day on ebay (and pretty much every platform) and be consistent versus setting a bunch active one day and then none the next. Scheduling ahead ensures that if there are days we cannot list, things still go live. Hope this makes sense!
We've recently switched to doing Ebay>LP>Poshmark. I do think listing on ebay first is a timesaver but building the listing on LP first does create a cleaner description and you can edit your photos in there too depending on your plan. Pros and cons to both. For us, we decided to go back to listing on ebay first because we can use their bulk draft features that LP currently doesn' t have.
If you bought those 5,000 items for 50 cents each (unlikily) its $2500 worth of stock, probably more like over $10,000 - do you ave some items sitting there for extnded months and years?
Yep. Sure do. I bought a ton of items in my early years of reselling before I knew what I was doing and they have not sold. I haven't really until this year put a plan into place of moving them out. All I did was drop prices on them every month. This is an older video you commented on. More currently, we have began removing the older items and attempting to sell them via other avenues.
This is a frequently requested video! Although I don't plan on going in depth about taxes, I do plan on doing a video about bookkeeping. I'd recommend watching Not Your Dad's CPA interviews.
Hmm. If you’re putting the batch name in the SKU, doesn’t that automatically tell you the date the items were listed, making the price-month chart superfluous?
Not necessarily. We don't keep track of when the batches were listed. Ebay also tells you the listing date but it's just easier to be able to tell based on what the price ends in while dealing with an offer.
Usually if you edit the listing and change the size and/or brand it will wipe the offers out and you can delete it. It's a work around that almost always works.
Ok ladies I want in on this give away I am a small business now so how I keep track of my inventory is I put on Poshmark the date listed amount paid and bin in example 0617/10c01. Now I find everything and I don’t have to search 👀. I want to list on other sites and have been afraid as I didn’t have a system. Love you ladies thanks for your videos.
how does it work when you list an item on ebay and another site and you sell it, do you owe both sites or just the site it sold on? do you just remove the listing from the site it didn't sell from? I hope this all makes sense
Giveaway is closed! Thank you to everyone who participated. Stay tuned for more giveaways!

Do you sell items on Amazon or do you have a front store…?
Inventory Management System from daily refinement with pre bagging and numbering items and working left to right.

How do you keep your poly bags organized? I want to make like a little shelf system for them, they’re so slippery & drive me nuts lol
My favorite process is my inventory Que. As soon as I get My Item's home I lay them flat one on top of the other so that when I get to them they are wrinkled free.

I keep a spreadsheet with each item listed. Column 1 copy and paste eBay title
Column 2 date purchased
Column 3 where purchased
Column 4 amount I paid for item
Column 5 date listed
Column 6 Date sold
Column 7 amount sold for
Column 8 shipping paid by customer
Column 9 FInal Value Fee
Column 10 Promoted Listing Fee
Column 11 shipping paid by me
Column 12 Net
I have it formulated to the following: amount sold + shipping received - fvf - shipping - cogs - promoted fee to get the net per item.
I LOVE the 7 days a week tote idea! Omg!

The suggestion I like and will use is pricing where the ending number match the month listed.
Love the Listing Date Price Tracking! Thank you for sharing!
Great video! I love all your ideas! I have a similar spreadsheet and as I’m listing I copy and paste my title to it so when someone makes me an offer and I’m not sure about it I can search it really quick to see how much I paid. I have like 400 j crew tops so I had to come up with something haha.
I love your videos as they help me so much with my new business. I am just on Poshmark but I am going to Cross list on eBay next. Thank you!!
This is such a great video to use List Perfectly Thank you ! Love your channel!
Pricing Structure Tip :)
I hit up a goodwill outlet and buy by the bulk
My inventory bins have letters, I found numbers on amazon. I put them on the poly bags watching tvto use for my items. When I put items up them in letter bin each week I print off the list place on front of bin so when items sale I can find it.
thank you for the great info. Do you use the relist feature on list perfectly. I want to use the catalog but was worried about the tracking
I do not currently use the relist feature. We drop prices every month so I don't feel the need to relist items.
I use peg wall and have them numbered for small items. I have a warehouse on my property and I get a tax write off.
Hey ladies love this video. I am a new reseller who has not actually started so I do not have a process, but I have taken away alot from this video! would love to try list perfectly!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Glad you're here!
Love the video! Just barely missed the Giveaway!

@Cayley Elaine awesome. Thank you!
This is so helpful. Thank you
Hi guys..miss you..glad I can catch this video
Great video! Are you still using these same systems and spreadsheet system or have you altered it?
We are not using the date tracker anymore and we switched up our bins system. I need to make an updated video. The spreadsheet we are still using.
@@ctrlwhy I do not have any recent videos on YT. We have a couple in the Reseller's Edge group.
Awesome video! Lovvvve This!! THANK YOU! 💕💕💕💕
Where did you get your shelves? Love how organized you are and working to get better at that.
We get them from Menard's.
What size are the shelves? And what max size bin can you put on them? I’m having a hard time telling in the dimensions when going to order some how much space is between the poles and how large a bin can fit two per shelf. Thanks
I don’t understand the batch system or why you schedule listings. If you list an item why not list it immediately? Why would you want to schedule it?
It is better to list the same amount every day on ebay (and pretty much every platform) and be consistent versus setting a bunch active one day and then none the next. Scheduling ahead ensures that if there are days we cannot list, things still go live. Hope this makes sense!
Thank you for explaining that!
Love, Thanks for sharing your system
Where did you get your black storage racks?
Menards
The best decision I made for my business was to have a business partner.
I use LP today also but lost all to LP then to eBay and PM…. Do you feel uploading to eBay 1st is a timesaver? I’m always looking for ways to cut time
We've recently switched to doing Ebay>LP>Poshmark.
Is the spreadsheet that you showed in the video (on her phone) is that with google sheets or?
Yes, we use google sheets.
I’d to put in a request for a video on taxes; even if it’s general information.
This is a frequently requested video! Although I don't plan on going in depth about taxes, I do plan on doing a video about bookkeeping. I'd recommend watching Not Your Dad's CPA interviews.
If your drawing is on the 22nd how can the winner respond back to you by 6/17 ? Just asking? Attention to details lol
Thanks! Lol wrong Friday.
Do y'all still use the Date List system?
We do not.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
what do you do on PM when you go to delete the listing and it says it cant delete because of active offers?
Usually if you edit the listing and change the size and/or brand it will wipe the offers out and you can delete it. It's a work around that almost always works.
@Cayley Elaine really!! I did not know that. Thank u I will do that next time :)
I can offer editing your videos , It can make a significant difference 😊, if you could hire me .
Thanks for the offer! I actually enjoy the editing process and am not looking to outsource it right now.
I do that too!!! I dont do the date listed, but thats smart and ill start:)
how does it work when you list an item on ebay and another site and you sell it, do you owe both sites or just the site it sold on? do you just remove the listing from the site it didn't sell from? I hope this all makes sense
Hi! Yes, makes sense. Once an item sells we take it down off the other platform so it doesn't sell on there too.
