I had jeans that didn’t sell for years! They’ve been relisted multiple times to multiple platforms. Recently I just decided that I have time to rephotograph them completely like I just sourced them and price like I normally would. Well, two sold in few days 😂 Need to add that my old photos weren’t much different, so idk why but it worked 😂
I have taken this approach with some old listings 2 years plus. Had some jeans that were good but with bad pics. Took the listings down, snapped some better pictures now and reworked the title. Sold in 2 days as eBay engine index this listing as completely new and different. I just check listings Ending Today and it old listings pop, I just do sell similar , end it and work on a new one completely fresh.
New photos do help alot but I've tried just repositioning the same photo to a different angle on several different items as tests to save time. Well that did not work for me.
oh wow this is exactly what I needed to hear. I'm anxious to try them to help things move. Been feeling so defeated. Watching this again and making my Action List. Thank you so much!
I love your tips. A while ago I re-did my photos on a few items that I didn't like and they sold. Sometimes relisting an item that was originally listed out of season also sells. I think I'm going to experiment and add more mens items and jewelry. (I used to sell vintage jewelry)
This was a super helpful video, thank you so much! When you’re refreshing old listings, are you deleting them and creating a new post entirely, or editing the same listing with the adjustments?
@@cayleyelaine ok so deleting the post and “copying” a new one with adjusted edits. I imagine the algorithm is more likely to refresh with an actual new post versus editing an existing post. Got it!
You read my mind Cayley, my motivation is at a stand still. Wish I could just walk in a store and buy motivation in a bottle. I get stuck taking pictures bc I am ADHD about taking pictures perfectly. It’s so tiring!
I was a buyer for a long time before l became a reseller 4 months ago. As a buyer l got so sick & tired of offers especially someone who sent them way too much. So into month 2 l started sending offers especially during Poshmark closet Clearout when pm send out discounted shipping. 🎉❤
Unfortunately you can only sort that way via bulk actions. But if you start the process, you can easily sort and not have to go through with the action if you just want to see. Bulk actions are the gear icon at the top right of the screen.
The thing that I hate about sending offers is that it seems that so often they counter back. I don’t mind that, but it doesn’t show what I was asking to start with, so I have to get out of the offer and go and look up the item. Am I doing something wrong? Missing something?
i've tried the listing more for the sake of listing more and that doesn't work proportionately in my experience. ie doubling your store size does not equate to double impressions or hits or sales. so, quality matters. and that is refected by views and clicks - you cannot fake that.
@MeiMeicloset that is a normal fee that we all get charged. You can't stop it from happening. However, you may be able to save money by having a different subscription. See video below: th-cam.com/video/GXPs65Q9shc/w-d-xo.html
I don't understand about sorting and sending offers. I understand how to sort by watchers, likes, but when I do that and check the box by the item and choose send offer from the menu-I get a message that I can't send an offer. I do send offers daily by choosing available to send offer from the seller hub. Please advise. Thank you!
It's probably giving you that error because you've already sent offers to those watchers. The watchers have an offer limit. So if you've already sent it so many times, ebays system is basically glitches by thinking you have offers to send, but then when you do, it recognizes that the buyer has reached their limit.
i always assume each listing was its own individual traffic silo that don't see each other. you're saying a stale listing drags the entire store down or is that just an algorithm theory?
@@cayleyelaine yeah i'm not sure. i can agree that an entire store health, metrics and policies would affect all. but, a new listing seems like it is initially given a trial boost to see if it has "legs" and if it keeps getting hits (or better, sales) then ebay will rank it higher and higher until it becomes one of the top placed items. a term i call going viral. yes i sell multi qty items, but that positive karma on the listing continues for the duration of that listing. and if someone is selling a one off pair of jeans, even if it meets all the viral metrics, it's all gone once the item is sold. and that leaves each listing to have to start all over again
@@cayleyelaine i'm saying a singular stale listing remains stale on just that listing. and the flip side, one that gets 100s of hits a day stays on that one listing. at least that's my observation. but when someone sells a one off then that positive karma/juju/algorithm likes you stuff dies with that listing after it sells.
@donkeykong1234 on the ebay performance tab, if tracks all your metrics as a whole (like impressions, click through rate, str, etc) and those numbers are calculated based off how many active listings you have. That's why it makes sense to me that removing stale listings essentially boosts you in the algorithm because it affects all of the metrics that they track.

I end and relist often and then the date changes so it no longer keeps the original date since it’s changes as a new listing.
You can use Microsoft Word the same way. I use my Microsoft Photos Editor for background removal and also erase any background defects.
Great tips! Inspired me to go in and send offers to likers and made 4 sales already!
Heck yes!! 💪
This was a super helpful video, thank you so much! When you’re refreshing old listings, are you deleting them and creating a new post entirely, or editing the same listing with the adjustments?
If an item is 6 months or older, I'd recommend ending it and relisting with new edits. At a certain point, items become stagnant.

You can turn counteroffers off on ebay.
Have you ever had anyone ask you where you bought an item? If so what did you reply if anything? This is twice the first time I did not reply.
I think only once or twice. I'd say something like, I acquired this item pre-owned.
I would say yard sale or estate sale
When you need items to list but can't find items that fit your business plan what do you do?
I keep thrifting until I do. I usually drive to a different area.

trouble is most are not watchers which is frustrating and mecari quit showing oldest! i sell similar old listings
i never read the book, what do you mean by "leaning in"?
No book, just focusing and doing more of what's currently working for you.
Great advice!
Hi Cayley. Today I just found out eBay will charger buyer fee to auto renew the listings. The insertion fee. How can I avoid that from happening. 😢
This is news to me. Where did you find that out?
@@cayleyelaine I clicked payment total funds and clicked all activity I saw several listings have been renewed and charged 0.35 per listing.
@@MeiMeicloset right but they charge you, not the buyer, right?

When you say buyers get notified when you send offers, do you mean buyers who have bought from you in the past ?
No, other watchers on the item.
Great information! Thank you for sharing your experience. You always deliver the information that I need to work on. Well done.

Hey Cayley. I did one of your steps lowering the price and a buyer just messaged me saying they tried to counter on and it will not let them.
On ebay, there is a toggle when you send offers that allows counteroffers or not.
@@cayleyelaine I did not send an offer I lowered the price. It’s ok because someone else sent an offer and made the purchase.
@mst5533 gotcha. If you drop the price, you'll have to allow best offer if you want your buyer to be able to counter. Glad you made the sale!
i always assume each listing was its own individual traffic silo that don't see each other. you're saying a stale listing drags the entire store down or is that just an algorithm theory?
Yes, in theory. You're individual listings have their own performance but ebay also tracks your stores performance as a whole.

But I noticed that 99% of sold items has no watches, sending an offers doesn’t work with me.even 50% off
Then I would look at asking yourself if those items fit your business model, should you rework them, do you need to move forward with better items.
Speaking of jean photos, I don't get why people post a side view with the jeans folded as the cover. If I were a buyer, I would never click on that
Some people really like them because they fill up the entire frame.

You're welcome!
Most of my buyers counter and the sale ends up being 50% off
I so hear you! It can happen a lot!
Same! Ugh
