I 100%'d Travellers Rest. It nearly BROKE me.

Travellers Rest is a cozy game Tavern manager simulator where you grow crops and turn them into tasty meals and fancy drinks, where you expand your tavern to serve more and more customers and become a thriving hop spot for travelers.
I 100%'d Travellers rest and to achieve this I completed each and every one of the 36 Steam Trophies that the game has. This includes 'purchasing 50 decorations from Wilson which has a 0.2% completion rate!
Grab yourself a nice cup of tea, relax as we 100% Travellers Rest.

What I'm loving about these 100% videos is it's encouraging us as players not to pick up loads of games for those 100 days and put down as soon as we get bored or it gets hard. 100%ing a game takes time and dedication. It encourages us to look at our own libraries and try and 100% a title or two.
It depends on a game I think - with Core Keeper is was just sad watching people complain of grinding for items I got easily by just playing normally. :/
It always satisfying to try and 100% a game and i find that I can truly give an honest review of a game if I 100% because i did everything you can do in the game!
I played core keeper once a few years ago but couldn't really get into it :P
@@GamerGarYT Yeah it's very different type of fame, much more combat.
This is my biggest problem, I never 100% a game and I have so many 😭 but I can never keep going
you can build an apiary for honey and beewax ! first you need to find a bee queen when chopping wood and then buy the recipe from woody ;)
I am in the .2 percent that bought 50 recycled art. It is a grind, but there is a trick. Hopefully they keep it in. Get a bunch of crab traps. Like 20ish. Go to the beach at like 7 or 8 I think pm.... Pick the trap, and it will show you either a crab or a boot. Boot means garbage. Place it down. If it shows crab, change it out until you get boot. You can do this till like 10pm or so. This will guarantee you 10-20 every time you place them down. Since they have 2 or 3 catches each, just come back and do some fishing the next day until more traps get full. ( *Edit- Now I have to run and go check the game to make sure I gave the proper instructions..... )
I've played this awhile ago before the fishing update. it's so cool to see how much the game has changed since then. I gotta replay lol
You can builld racks for the aging barrels that hold 5 barrels in the space of 3.
I spent this whole video trying to figure out how you always had so much money. I’m always soooo broke in this game even with all the alcohol and food 😭
I watch his Stardew Valley videos & am the exact same way.....like dammit I did what he did why am I broke 🤣🤣🤣
It is challenging to choose what content to showcase from the huge hours of recorded content so I do tend to leave out a lot of the grinding process so its a balancing act basically lol.
Oh gods, yes, I was HELLA broke most of the time, when I first started playing. I can't say exactly when the turning point happened. Just, sometime after I finished having to save up lots of money to buy expensive buildings/upgrades, I went from not being able to afford enough candles and my customers constantly complaining about "Feels like walking into a trap..." and having to do EVERYTHING myself (bartender, waitress, receptionist, room service, AND bouncer) because I couldn't afford employees...
Suddenly I was able to afford them, I could swim in candles if I wanted to (there's a mental image), and things turned around. I think the main things that helped were learning skills that save you money/get you more resources, my employees levelling up and getting more efficient, and learning which ingredients for the same dish or drink will earn you considerably more, and then only making that version until you run out of whatever.
Also: Forage, forage, forage! You don't have to be open every day, so go out and get !free! fruits, veggies, mushrooms, ore, kindling, worms, seafood, etc. whenever you want. Did I mention it's free? You can go from "Man, I don't have anything to serve my customers" to "Fried clams for all!" within a day. (And of course, once you're able to afford employees, you can leave them to it while you forage, so you earn money AND gather free stuff at the same time!)
--Food doesn't go bad in this game, so far. Ever. Use this to your advantage, and, say, stock up on the more expensive grains and hops while they're available, and have some to use in seasons when you CAN'T buy them or their seeds in the shop.
--Juice/oil pressers, ovens, wine barrels, and beer-making stuff are very useful. When you can, make sure to have at least two of each, so you can make twice the amount in the same time.
--Only sell Grand Reserve level drinks.
--The rock golem character sells stuff you can't get in the store, and for cheap. Worth visiting often.
--Fruit trees are expensive but worth it, if you can afford them.
--Learn how to build your own stuff--takes longer, but it costs less gold in the long run.
Anyway yeah that's my main advice: As you level up, get skills that will help you pay the bills, always sell the most expensive version of everything you can currently make, forage because it's free, expand when you can, buy more than one of the most-used cooking/brewing items, and take advantage of the fact that the game (so far) has no spoilage system. Also, make stuff. Because crafting your own stuff is awesome.
Good luck! :)
As one of the people who got recycle art, it CAN be that bad. You have to explore the map every day digging everything up in hopes of trash. Then head down to the beach to use all the worms you dug up to fish for more trash. Then at the end of the day you use those fish you collected in your vain search for trash to then make crab traps. Which you then use to collect more trash.
it still took me a couple of in game seasons to get everything following that routine. Also, never use grass to make hay for your farm animals. You need it for crab traps.
Wow, I played this game a while ago, definitely looks different than my experience. Might have to revisit.
the game has received a lot of updates recently. its worth a playthrough in my opinion!
this was so enjoyable to watch 🐮 well done getting the achievements!! very cool Wilson volleyball from Castaway of course
I watch castaway every Christmas :) lol, such a great movie, so happy they put Wilson in the game lol
I downloaded this game from Steam a couple of years ago or so, didn’t play very long as the mechanics were not great and it was just not fun to play. From watching your video I’m thinking the Devs must have done a lot of work on it, as it’s a far cry from the game I originally played. I may give it another chance. 👍
Ohh i would certainly give it another go, the game has gotten some big updates recently and I had a great time playing it over the past few weeks :)
i got back into the game bc of the recent update, hadnt played in so long that i was amazed on how much new stuff was in it. gonna watch this while i play lol
Amazing video as usual. Thanks for making my Sunday better
Glad you enjoyed it
My man, you made my Sunday evening❤
thanks :D, i hope you enjoyed the video :D
I'M SORRY WILSON!!!! I'm glad he found a new home after Tom Hanks lost him in the ocean 😆
tom wasn't the same without Wilson after that :(
This game looks so interesting, I need to add it to my list of games I need to play!
it was a great experience :)
That cow had had enough
I played the Demo and uninstalled the game. After watching this playthrough I just bought the game. Thanks GamerGar, glad I didnt miss this good game!
GamerGar: "I don't always have the sexiest accent in the world, but when I do it's on days that end with y."
Sub'd to the dulcet tones. Keep up the good work brother.
I haven't played in awhile. A ton of new stuff has been added!
I found this game to be way too grindy for me. Same with graveyard keeper. I will give these devs, it’s clear they were inspired GYK. I just feel like both games are unnecessarily convoluted to do tasks. And on top of that, doing anything has the most fiddly and unresponsive controls. So having to use four tools to farm but tool usage is inexact and fiddly? Nah. I really think this game could be amazing if it was trying to be arbitrarily difficult with its mechanics and if it improved the controls.
Playing this game (and Graveyard Keeper) definitely FEELS like playing indie games. The systems aren’t great and the controls ar wonky but there’s promise if those were fixed.
I didn't like this game when it first came out, but after playing through it and really getting into the zone with it, I taught for the price I paid, it was an amazing experience :)
Hello, this looks interesting.
When i got into the swing of things, i found it to be very entertaining :D , a bit stressful with the fishing but it was very nice to get the 100%
Yay! I'm a chicken!!
Ummm, I'm a meat chicken 😬
They just added beehives and irrigation this past week. Which is grand.
I wasn't able to use them for a while after the update, because my character had just started winter! :P
Now that it's spring, I'm looking forward to finally finding my first Queen Bee and making my first beehive. Heh.
@@robinchesterfield42 just in tim for the hallween event,
I love traveller's rest sm but i am waiting for the full release atm 😅 my original file is far enough in that earning the currency for recipes is quite difficult
I have missed ALOT of changes. I made a new save a few weeks ago and skipped the tutorial. Probably should have went with it. Spent the first 2 weeks wondering how to get to town before I finally found it. I thought it was up towards the mountain and then to the left or down above the farmer family. Really can't say I enjoy the fishing aspect of the game. Maybe because my laptop doesn't like the fishing locations? I tend to loose fps when I get close to water.
Is the game fully out finally? I’ve played it this past summer and rlly liked it but i’m seeing way different and new stuff in your video
Of course GamerGar is an expert puller and I don't mean of drinks 😏
I pulled a Charizard once back in the day, wonder how much its worth now :)
Actually, the best way to find trash is to fish in the cave
thanks for the tip but this tavern keeps days of fishing are over lol
Can you dig up trash 😊
That game is kinda like Stardew never played it tho
yes, you will get the Stardew vibes when playing, its a nice cosy game :)
With the way that game keeps adding more boring tedious grind with every update (I've been playing since 0.6.3 and have all but one of the achievements-I haven't had the patience to grind out that 0.2% achievement), if you think this game's grindy now, just wait until 1.0 if they keep it up.
Willlllllllson!!!
Im gona watch cast away right now, lets go!!
I have to ask, was the thumbnail inspired by SeanieDew? 😊
yeah, and seanie dew was inspired by eazyspeezy lol
Hey Mirjan :D, not really Seanie but a combination of content creators that create 100% content :) we decided to use a similar format in the hops of more views just like the 100 day format :)
@@GamerGarYT i see, that makes sense 🙂
@@vivishii_ I don't watch that channel so I didn't realise!
and the game isnt even finished yet...so there will be mroe added to this game!
