Only a true passion can give your life a sense of joy. You may recognize it because it transmits and spreads its happiness to others making them wish they were there. This video reminds me of Van Gogh´s visits to the wheat fields. Thank you for sharing your happiness with all of us.
its been a while since my last rubber powered field session. Your videos really capture the joy that comes with silence and solitude in this satisfying hobby, I miss it.
I've seen vids of Tom with an earlier incarnation of this bike and box system.. It certainly facilitates an extra dimension, in that placement of launch can be so conveniently chosen.. The runway graphics will help to inspire the next generation of creative aeromodelers also, which has to be a good thing. Beautiful craft and flying as ever.. The Dyna Moe is my favourite of these, but I must mention the calligraphic icon on the smaller model; absolutely wonderful work! Much appreciated. 🌟👍
i come for the beautiful skies - and what a sweet model box on the e-bike , reminds me of when a motorcycle was my only transport and the lengths i had to go to to transport large rc models - not always successfully - arrived at the flying site a couple of times only to find the model had departed on route
Enjoyed watching this. My very first folding prop job was a Dyna-Moe. It's performance was SO predictable that I could launch it into still air - stand in that same spot - and catch it as it glided down. I did that SIX times in a row one calm Georgia evening. And mine was yellow and blue also. This E-bike thing looks like fun. Wish I could do that.
Great fun as always. I love the runway markings on the final flight box!! (I think you need to add a mini wind sock next - I'm creating designs as a type!!)
Another beautiful video! The only suggestion that I could make is, when you put text into the video, leave it on the screen for a few seconds longer. Those of us who are slow readers sometimes don't get to the end before it disappears.
Hi John. Thanks for your interest. Check out this link from Easy Built Models, as they have a lot of suggests for newbie builders & flyers. easybuiltmodels.com/start.htm#gsc.tab=0
Thx for the kind words & comments. The DT's are not the old fuse variety. Instead we use various viscous timers. Here's an article I wrote about them a few years ago. www.hallmanstudio.com/DT.pdf
Thx, Shane. I've been using an older Canon PowerShot SX20 (2009) which has a great optical zoom, along with a mild image stabilization. It's not as HD as current cams of course, but seems plenty for YT. Current cams IS is so strong, that it makes the zoom shots difficult to center...so I've stayed with this low frills cam. They're found used fat very low cost on sites like Mercari.com...often around $50-70. The only downside is if the sensor has dust spots, then can't be cleaned manually. Professional cleaning would cost far more than the cam's worth.
I'm curious as to how you would compare your aluminum thrust plate to the gizmo geezer adjustable button? I love them but if you think yours have an advantage, I'll give it a try!
I've never used a GG, but have everything I need with the simple thrust plate. Total thrust control and the cost is nil. Just a piece of .032 or .040 sheet alum. and a screw. Pennies.
I'm curious as to how you determine your max winds for motors. On smaller motors I will wind to breaking in the shop and note e winds and torque, but not for larger. Do you use a graph or formula? Also, do you ever wind to torque in the field, or just count winds?
Hi Phil. I don't have a formula, and have relied on experience with the various, similarly sized motors. Batches of new rubber can alter those numbers a bit, but generally they come fairly close. I'll wind a used motor to the breaking point back in the shop, if I suspect that I had many more winds left over. I'm sure a torque meter would quickly resolve any questions about number of winds, but I've never used one. I tend to go old school and rely on the feel & hardness of the motor as I wind to what I perceive to be close to max.
Thx, Ted. I've recently found a good source for the Badge Classic DT. They've proven to be reliable. I've listed their link in the description, along with an article I wrote on DTs.
I have an Easy Built Jimmy Allen Skokie, it is the best flying model I have. Where are you getting your dethermalizer mechanisms from? Mine doesn't have one so I have never really seen it's full potential for fear of losing it.
Hi John- I've been using the Badge Classic from Starlink Flitetech Models. The Button classic is lighter but it's no long offered, as there have apparently been production issues, rendering them unreliable. I believe he still sells the Badge for a discount if u buy three. www.starlink-flitetech.com/badge-timers.php
@@jeffreyhagerty440 Yes, I noted them on the film. Starts with the Go Devil, then the Dyna Moe, next is there Skokie, and finally the Spartan Bomber. I'll put links to their plans in the description above in a few minutes.

Perfectly written.

Such a sweet set-up, Sir. The runway graphic is just over-the -top. 👌
Thx. Figured I'd give the models some directional assistance.
The finest content on TH-cam!!
Seeing the Spartan flying with the swallows was a daymaker.
ROB. Rise off box. Beautiful video. Thank you for posting.

i was dreaming about ROGs last night!!! great video!
Another beautiful video, wonderfully put together. Your ideas are ingenious too, your mobile runway is ideal.
What a beautiful flying field and lovely models
My dose of serenity thanks mate.
I was expecting the bike to fly too. Lol. Cool video.
Thank you for sharing another fine video...
Nothing else but charming.
Very nice setup. Great video. Thank you.
Keep doing what you do. Ingenious launch setup. ... Looks like a little dust devil, 6:14.
Lovely video, a joy to watch.
Oh my goodness. It’s soo good!
I love the runway painted on the box lid!
Ha, thx.
Excellent, I was waiting for you and the bike to take off, like ET against the moon pic. :)
A great way to launch the planes. The runway markings are a nice touch.

Are you kidding me! Landing the Skokie right next to your bike? Genius set-up Tom. Beautiful time-lapse shots of the clouds as well.
Yes, that caught be by surprise too. The air was amazing that day.
@@maxfliart I could tell by your reaction that it must not happen too often. Congrats!
At 10:30, it's like the birds are flying with the Spartan Bomber. Beautiful.
They kinda seemed happy for the company.
@@maxfliart That was a great piece of film - very atmospheric - Tim

Would have enjoyed seeing that! She's becoming one of my favorite flyers, second to the Gollywock.

Great idea...I like it. Launching directly into the wind is key with these takeoffs.
the last landing was spot on lol,,and the takeoff was pretty close to carrier takeoff, maby you should build a corsair that would be neat.
Great idea on the foam box
super lightweight
These classic old models are cool to look at.
Nice Aircraft Carrier!

Thx for the feedback. Noted.
¡¡¡IMPRESIONANTE!!!
Thank you very much!
Very ingenious.
Wow, beautiful, and the birds must of thought it was a hawk....Moses
HI again. Great videos. did you notice the dirt devil in the background starting at 6:11 going from right to left. Real cool!
Oh cool! Thx! I missed that. The air indeed was popping that day.
Could you rig a couple of right triangles to support the fold out? You are part of the runway.
Was wondering if you could post up a How To on your choice for a dethermalizer. Curious about how to incorporate one into a build.
Never mind…..read the description!
Fun stuff!
Nice. Nice. Nice!
Thanks for the inspirational videos, great viewing. Any tips for a 1st model for a newbie like myself to build? Thanks
